QUOTE(SnB @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) not funny Opinion

Maybe that will straighten Uribe out.

QUOTE(daa84 @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:30 PM) ohhhh dont mention his arm pad....hell charge the mound on you I am not worried, we can just sick that squirrel from Monday's game on Kendall.
-
I hate Kendall. I really would like to see him drilled in the ear. Not sure why. Maybe because he is always sticking his elbow pad out in front of a pitch to get on.
-
I am shocked that Thomas did not go to third on that single. SO will Thomas score on a single from second?
-
It only seems that one of our pitchers is having trouble pitching Frank inside. Need we name names? Some of those pitches may still be traveling.
-
If nothing else positive can be taken from the 1st, Haren threw a few pitches.
-
Dye trying to do his best Rowand impression this inning? We need him healthy!
-
ROBBERY!!!

Seems as though the game will at least start.

Rest of Season Sold out?

QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Yeah, it's great news. We're averaging 34K, and it's only gonna go up. What are Cub fans gonna do now that they can't rip on our attendance ? They can start by imploding their ballpark. -
I was pissed when several years ago, they stopped serving the ribs in CF. Not the best ribs I have had, but still pretty dam good.

5/23/06: White Sox vs. A's

Key to today's game: Pitch inside to Frank -
QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ May 21, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) He's a .260 lifetime hitter. Really, his 04, career year, was pretty much on par with the "great" Aaron Rowand's 04, while playing better defense. Uribe's going to be fine. No, he's not a patient hitter, but he does some things well with the bat. He had a ton of productive outs last year and had a ton of sacrifices. He's had a bad month and half. He's also capable of getting really hot over an extended period and evening those numbers out a little. Our offense is fine. We need to stick with what this team's really all about, good pitching and defense. Cintron's not even in Uribe's league defensively. The few more hits he'll get you don't outweigh that. It's the same as BA vs. Mack IMO. Junior, aside from disagreeing on what Uribe is going to end the year in terms of average, you pretty much repeated my post(s). I hear an echo!

Is it too early to start a new thread bashing Garland's performance against the A's?
-
QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) Uribe's the new Crede. Difference: Sox fans had high hopes for Crede because of his performance in the minors When has anybody ever expectmore than .250 and good defense from Uribe. Neither of which has he done consistently. That is what is most maddening. He is so raw that do we really know what to expect from him? More like Uribe is the new Jose Valenin, living off a few good moments for too long.

From first hand observation, we know Ordonez is worthless in the playoffs and pretty much any clutch games after September 1. Hopefully that continues. Kenny Rogers also can't win the BIG GAME. That said, the Tigers are so much from out of nowhere that you have to be a little scared.

Official Cheer Frank Thomas Tomorrow Thread
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to GoRowand33's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Roll Call: Who will be at the game tomorrow (to cheer hopefully): I will be there to cheer and boo only if he does anything to hurt the Sox chances of winning. -
Were it not for Anderson's slow start, Uribe may have drawn more attention. At this point, Uribe is making me sick. I blame today's headache on him! Plain and simple, he is not a major league SS. Cintron is not better on D, but at least he is not walking back to the dugout after one pitch. Did he even get the ball out of the infield today? I would even feel more secure with Pablo at SS at this point. Uribe does not have many supporters. It is not as if he is a rookie or a little green. This is how Uribe has always been, he plays like they just plucked him out of the wild to play baseball. How long to Oswaldo Guillen feels the same way?

One thing about today's game that we can't dispute, it made me need a drink. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Games are going to be tougher to win with some of our guys settling back to their norms (Crede). We have got to start getting some production from the bottom of the order....our 2-3-4-5 can't continue to drive in nearly every run. You mean Uribe has hit AND play defense?? -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) What I hate most about this loss (more than the fact it was against the Cubs) are the upcoming series. Oakland Toronto Cleveland Wins may not come easy, and giving away victories due to a weak bullpen and defensive miscues CANNOT happen these next few weeks. Defensive mistakes more than a bullpen. There were three plays today which gave the Cubs extra opportunities. Let's just hope we were playing down to the competition today. -

Seriously, what is our record against the Cubs on Sunday. 1-8? They always seem to steal the Sunday game.
