  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) I just read it. Briggs for the Giants 1st 2nd and 5th rounder. why would any team give the bears more than one draft pick when they have all the leverage?
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) False. youre right briggs is better. briggs had more solo tackles and made more big plays. the super bowl definitely and even the divisional round exposed urlacher for not being able to take on blockers and stop anyone from running right up his ass.
  3. briggs is as good as urlacher and he should get paid accordingly
  4. QUOTE(soxwon @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 05:20 PM) glockson from naperville, i cant stand her. she has a nasty attitude. please boot her quick. hmm. went to high school with her and dont remember her being her being nasty. i never really watched idol to much but i hear she made it through so i will have to check it out.
  5. if the bears were to win this would of been the year in a terrible NFC. the nfc north cant get any worse and the bears schedule looks brutal so 10 to 11 wins might be as good as it gets next year. their window of opportunity might have already closed.
  6. it anything that has been overlooked it is the strength of the bears o-line. they could possibly take over as they have recently and make grossmans play moot
  7. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) Well he's got $8 million good reasons to choose baseball. I will predict he will be the next Drew Henson. henson was way more accomplished in baseball than samardzija though. he set a national record for homers in h.s. so at least you could justify it. if samardzija wasnt an NFL prospect he wouldnt be getting jack but leave it to the cubs to overpay
  8. rutgers or west virginia would have at least made it a competitive game
  9. thanks espn why would i want to see the last 2 minutes of a good game
  10. i thought we were supposed to have leverage considering we have an excess of pitchers?
  11. i dont think trading crede in a package for a-rod would any sense at all
  12. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) My only reservations about Thome was he seemed anti-thetical to the "smallball" approach that helped us win last year. I think we have enough sluggers with Dye, Crede, Paulie and even to some extent Gooch--I don't want to live by the longball. Yes I KNOW we didn't play smallball exclusively last year but we sure did a lot more of hit/bunt/run/steal than this year, which, offense-wise, has closely resembled 2004. I like Thome I really do but first half he was an intmidator and second half he seems to be a non-factor. i totally agree. still having rowand would mean not watching mack the butcher in center
  13. playoffs?!?! playoffs?!?! as jim mora would say
  14. have our outfielders thrown anyone out at the plate yhis year?
  15. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:56 AM) I only have one issue with Paulie this year... he appears to not run out ground balls. Yeah, I know he is the slowest guy on the team. But its more than that. The double play he grounded into last night, would have scored a run if he had beat it out, and frankly he didn't look like he was running too hard. That just bothers me, especially for a team captain, and especially when I see Thome (who is also slow) running out every ground ball like he does. That irritated me. agree. he runs like he has crap in a diaper
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) I see absolutely no hustle by our core players, no urgency by our coaching staff, and just no enthusiasm by anyone on or off the field. It's sad that the only people who are hustling are Ozuna, Gload, Mackowiak, Sweeney, and Sandy. Someone might want to tell guys like Crede, Dye, and PK that the season isn't over at the end of August. The good news is that I have absolutely zero confidence that Guillen can turn this ship around. no heart either
  17. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) Like I said before, Fans want a contender. I for one call this season a success already. I've been glued to the TV the entire summer, and although I've had to down some hefty doses of pepto-bismol on ocasion, the product on the field has been superlative. The Sox have kept us on our toes and teeming with anxiety, hoping for another post-season run. As fans, you can't ask for anthing better. It would be unrealistic for any of us to expect a WS title every year. What I do expect is a well-constructed assembly of players who will give us something fun to watch night in, night out. I wish the Sox make the post-season every year, but that's not gonna happen. I just hope they are in the mix until the last couple of days of the season. Now, having said that, I felt this team had a very good probability of running away with the Central. The Sox pitching underachieved as a staff way beyond our worst expectations, yet they are still alive. Imagine having a pitching rotation performing like last year's Sox. They would likely have the Central wrapped up by now. That's how strong this team is. Crappy pitching, yet still very much in contention. true but i feel that we need to take advantage of our window of opportunity and win as many championships as possible because our division will be even more competitive in the next few years
