White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) Cool, and what was your old one?Something like Winninugly, then I realized there were like 50 names along those lines and it was hard to determine who was who. People would be replying to one person and the other would reply. Pretty funny at first.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:54 PM) I have a couple questions for you. Did you used to have another name on this site? And what does your current one mean?Yes, but I changed it awhile ago (it was too common). So I just went with my other one that I use (RME = Army) (JICO = Joint Interface Control Officer) - my current occupation.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) Garland walks Guillen. First baserunner since the first, I thinkPerfect game after the 1st 4 batters is over. Now he can relax and finish the complete game.

Sox giving a great pitched game away (they must think Danks is pitching). 15 LOB with several in scoring position.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
WTF! Uribe, Ozuna, and Konerko = 3 pitches and 3 outs. Erstad = 7 pitches and gets on base. If you are batting that bad, why not take some pitches?

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) Damn, thought Uribe got that one. So stupid to keep swinging at the first pitch though. Back to back innings for 1st pitch outs. Gotta do better than that.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
17 straight batters retired for Jon (5 2/3 innings of perfect game pitching).

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) Single digit pitch count this inning would be bad!How about 8 pitches.

Why swing first pitch?

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
Jon looking good, 14 straight batters retired.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) Well, the inning could've been better, but Verlander shouldn't pitch into the 7th at all. Zumaya went 2 yesterday, so is there any chance he pitches today?I doubt it. Probably Rodney. Thome is on pace to break the AL record for Walks with 183 (held by Babe Ruth - 170).

White Sox vs. Tigers, 4/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) Something I just looked up. Sox are dead last in doubles with 16, and the Twins lead with 46.The Twins also have 162 hits and the Sox only have 114 (which is also dead last).

Feels like a Sunday lineup; playing like a Sunday lineup. Also, the Sox are 0-3 when Garland starts this year.

All Star Voting
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) If that's the case, I want to say it was 2002--Maggs 2003--Frank 2004--Frank/Maggs 2005--Pods 2006--AJ Ah, I found it. It was actually Paulie in 2004 with Frank. Now I remember. Frank and Paulie took votes away from each other and Matsui won. Here are the AL Final Vote listings (interesting to see Thome and Erstad in 2002): 2002 Final Vote Johnny Damon Jim Thome Eric Chavez Magglio Ordonez* Darin Erstad 2003 Final Vote Jason Varitek Frank Thomas* Eric Byrnes Jason Giambi Bengie Molina 2004 Final Vote Hideki Matsui Lew Ford Travis Hafner Paul Konerko* Frank Thomas* 2005 Final Vote Scott Podsednik* Derek Jeter Torii Hunter Hideki Matsui Carl Crawford 2006 Final Vote A.J. Pierzynski* Francisco Liriano Travis Hafner Ramon Hernandez Justin Verlander

All Star Voting
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:22 PM) I'm talking about winning for the third year in a row although nothing will ever be sweeter re: all-star votes than getting AJ on there last year. Unless we get Erstad on this year. hahahaha Now that would be classic. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) I'm getting jumbled with what years Frank and Maggs were on there (I'm starting to doubt myself and think Maggs might have been on there twice too?) I know one year, both were on the same ballot.I found this:

MARK BUEHRLE HAS PITCHED A NO-HITTER!
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 10:24 AM) The name escapes me ... and it's driving me nuts because I should know it ... but someone back in the 60's? pitched back to back no-no's. Dean Chance pitched two no-no's 15 days apart in the 60's, that is the closest on I could find. Also, here is a weird one. After the Sox had been struggling before this recent win streak, I changed my "From" in my board settings to "Bring Back the Tarp Slides". A day or two later Mr. Tarpslider Buehrle throws a no-hitter. Just a coincidence, but weird nonetheless.

Hall ahead of Schedule!
I really hope he can come back soon. I really believe he can make an impact vs LHP, which this team sorely needs.

Where KW is going with this team
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 12:06 PM) I think KW will find some bargains out there, like a Mark Mulder or Loaiza, coming off an injury or off-year...and then some reclamation projects (veterans) in the OF, for instance, a Jose Guillen or Milton Bradley type of player. Ultimately, the best run clubs are in the top 7-8 clubs on the field but between 15-23 in payroll. I think KW would like to pare our payroll back down to the $75-90 range and still put out the same product on the field in terms of competitiveness. I don't think there is anyway that KW cuts the payroll under $100 million from now on. The only reason it would go down would be if he replaces Dye with Sweeney and Crede with Fields. He would then use the difference to resign Iguchi and Buehrle and also look at extensions for others. I also believe he is going to make one big splash this offseason in the FA market.

All Star Voting
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Those Sox players I listed have been on the fan ballot. My bad, reading too fast. Thought you were talking about vote winners. So have the Sox had a player on that ballot every year since the inception?

All Star Voting
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:30 AM) We've already had Frank twice, Maggs, Pods, and AJ.?? MLB All-Star Final Vote History 2006: A.J. Pierzynski (White Sox) 2005: Scott Podsednik (White Sox) 2004: Hideki Matsui (Yankees) 2003: Jason Varitek (Red Sox) 2002: Johnny Damon (Red Sox)

Brad Lidge
Lidge had went 4 games (3.0 innings) without giving up a run, and then was tagged against the Brewers, walking two and then giving up a 3-run bomb to Fielder in the 9th. Is this guy done?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Aardsma has arguably been the best reliever in baseball since mid-August 2006.

MARK BUEHRLE HAS PITCHED A NO-HITTER!
Looking back at Mark's last start before the no-hitter, he has now thrown 15 consecutive shutout innings, and an amazing 11 1/3 consecutive no-hit innings. I wonder what the record is for consecutive no-hit innings.

I *heart* Jim Thome
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) I love him more. I don't see you in Game Threads giving up to the second Jim Thome stat updates. .342/.561/.974/1.535 btw Those numbers are just silly. No one is even close for OBP and OPS. Also, for him, more BBs than Ks is amazing.
