QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) Well if he said it was intentional he would probably be fined or suspended. So I doubt he'd say he did it. Probably, if he was saying it to someone who gave a s***.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) Yes, but as I said, what you perceive as common sense can just as easily be the best situation to hit another player. You think it was intentional.. I got it.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 08:14 AM) Steff, at the risk of sounding insensitive here, I'll say this -- he probably wouldn't tell you the truth. He's never been shy about telling me things previously so I doubt he'd go out of his way to lie (I didn't bring it up). Then of course there's the common sence factor...

Sidney said Tony did not order a beaning, nor were they intentional.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 07:20 AM) Current rules governing hits batsmen essentially give one ballclub several open opportunties to hit an opposing team. I agree, it's ridiculous. How fair is it for one ballclub, whether it's Texas or St. Louis, to strike two players -- and then proceed to warn the team which was hit? If the umpires thought enough of Ponson's two hitbatsman to issue warnings, why not eject him? Hell, even when umpires take initiative and eject pitchers before warnings are issued they usually f*** it up. Think back to Buehrle and Baltimore, when our hitters were targets for several games and nothing happened until Mark throws inside. The warning was towards the Sox not to retaliate, no? I watched the replay on Tivo a dozen times this morning. The hits weren't intentional, IMO.

Angled Seats .......... How does everyone feel about them?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 07:27 AM) Its one of the biggest reasons I moved to the Club level several years ago. It amazes me how much money people spend at baseball games. They spend the majority of their time at concession and souvenir stands, and then walk back blocking your view when you want to watch a game. There are at least a few people that realize they are inconveniencing people standing in the aisle, but most just don't care. The other problem is if you happen to sit on an aisle, the people in the middle of the section have to buy something from every vendor in the park. You spend a lot of time passing money, beer, hot dogs, cotton candy, and sodas around. Most are casual fans and don't realize the uptight assholes trying to watch the game - myself included. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) Thanks for the suggestion. What model Bimmer do you have? I was lookin at the 330's but someone told me their quality has declined as well. I got the 325xi. Mainly because it has the same engine as the '05 330 - the '06 has a few more horses but not enough to warrant an additional $8K. As well the '05 330 xi (which is all wheel drive so it can be driven in the winter) I test drove in the snow in January and the wheels were s***. They changed them on the '06 325's. Stay far away from the 5 series. The "dial" they feature (it's on the center divider between the front seats and controls everything in the car - radio, temp, nav, etc..) has had a ton of trouble. I found this to be the main beef with the '06 models. It's also an accident waiting to happen since you have to look away from the road to make any changes. The safety features are the same as the '05's with the addition of the side airbags above the doors. I also got a year of Sirius free (had to pay for installation of the hardware - which BMW offset with extra car mats, and some other "goodies") and it also has hands free bluetooth so I was able to download my phone info to the car and I just press a button and converse via the car radio. I absolutely love it. For the price it was far more worth the value then the Lexus and Infinitiy models we were looking at. If you decide to go with an SUV though, take a look at the Montero Limited. We got one of those last November to replace our Jeep and have falled head over heels in love with it also. It's full of surprises for being a Mitsubishi.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) I loved directv, until I switched to Comcast because my condo association doesnt let us have dish. Im not aware of WOW internet. Im looking into cingular. Nice Ferris Bueller reference. As far as cars really go. I have had 3 jeeps in the past 10 years. I will not continue and get a 4th. I hate Chrysler products as they have all had so many problems. Now im torn between releasing my inner demon and picking up a rear wheel drive car (infiniti G35, Nissan Z, Mercedes CLK) or staying practical with an SUV. Pass on the Mercedes. They've gone to s*** in the past several years. Mass production has resulted in quality in the crapper. I love my BMW - though it's personal pref. And the warranty and CS is unreal.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Is it really? Thats what I was thinking about. My company issues me a blackberry for cellphone/email so I really just need a simple phone for texting and personal calling. Is cingular really good? How are their phones? I have the Treo via Cingular and Jim has the Razr. Love both. Love the service.

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) someone tell me this guy didnt just ask this question ......... He did. Want to tell us why you are so rude? I know you've spent most of your time defending your stupid media watch, but around here most people respect others enough to correct them rather than s*** on them. 61, DJ was referring to the seats in Cincy. -
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) I had a problem with my Sirius radio... So I'm sitting and enjoying my commercial-free, uncensored broadcasts knowing that the Playboy channel will now be "on the air". The previous day I registered on-line to receive the station. So there I am sitting in my underwear, drinking a beer and when I turn the radio to Station 198...nothing. It says I must register for the channel! I did already! So I call the number on the display. My phone is now covered in suntan lotion. The guy says it'll be on in five minutes and thanks for registering. 5 minutes and two beers pass and nothing. 10 minutes...nothing. 15 minutes...nothing. I call back, a bit angry and they tell me there must be a problem and to check back tomorrow. Needless to say that was the worst drive home I ever had from work. LMAO!!! That channel is hysterical. One night Jim and I were driving some "friends" - who will remain nameless unless they choose to repeat the story - back to their car from Jimbo's. I had never seen faces get so red so fast..

QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) couldn't even fit in a 'security' crack in there? unimpressed You just wait... QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) I've always thought she was hot, even before she went 'glam'. Are general admission tickets any good there? Ya know.. I don't know. It was all reserved seating that I could tell. But we got there early and walked all over the place and you could see from everywhere - and a nice view of the city behind the stage and firewords from NP. I would guess GA would be behind the 100 seats and in front of the 200 level and if that's right then those would be awesome. We're going again in August for KC & The Sunshine Band & a few others

QUOTE(SnB @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) missing the sox games because of it. :headshake Excuse you.. I was watching the game on the Treo, in the mock hurricane that hit the lakeshore about 7pm) and I was getting updates from the kid..

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) I thought for sure I was going to see DJ "is an idiot" or "who cares about seat angles" "we just won series, do you complain about everything?" or "Dj never said that" responses, heh heh Most members here don't need to be beat in the head 5,392 times with the same things over and over and over again to get a point. -
Went to Northerly Island for a concert Saturday night... ... that place is one hellofa venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Small and intimate. Highly recommended.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) I had to call Canon for support for my printer and they were excellent. Automated menus were short(meaning I didn't have to go through 10 steps to get to a live person) and the guy was friendly helpful and fixed my problem in a matter of minutes. He was also American!! On a side note, support was free!! I read in the manual that after a year support is 9.95, but when I got on the phone with the guy I didn't have to prove that in any way. He did ask during our initial exchange of information, when I purchased the printer and I told him....I don't know about 7-8 months ago maybe. I'm not sure if I have to call back in 6 months if they'll tell me I have to pay now....but either way it would have been worth the 10 bucks. You just reminded me of a printer issue I had. I have one of those fancy dancy HP ones with a LCD screen to print pictures - I print a TON of pictures for scrapbooks, etc.. and I got it well over a year before we moved. Once we got into the new house and I hooked it up and the screen was black. Called the store and they told me I would have to call HP. Assuming I would end up buying a new one if I wanted to use the screen (not that big of a deal since I do editing on the computer monitor 99.5% of the time anyway) I went over the issue and the guy tells me if probably got screwed up in the move (from shifting or change in temp or whatever). So he puts me on hold and comes back a few minutes later to tell me that Office Max in Joliet will exchange it at no cost to me. I was floored. Still questioning the deal I took down the number that he gave me, boxed it up, took it back, and with no issue they exchanged it. The guys at OM were awesome, though I was way more shocked that HP would allow an exchange.

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) Hangar says: Guy getting 5 million for being a 1st round pick, and another guy getting 7.25 Million for being a 5th round pick, is biased? Misguided? Idiotic? Its a legitimate question. First, he's not guaranteed 7 million. When you start utilizing the facts as they are reported within your debates, you will warrant a response. Until then, it's legitimate bulls***.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) 'Trusted' mechanics are few and far between and the dealerships are the worst. Mechanics are like dentists, you HAVE to take their word for it. Dealerships where a warranty doesn't cover repairs? I've never owned a car that an issue (that me, my husband, my dad, or grampa couldn't repair) wasn't covered with no out of pocket expense to me.
