  1. QUOTE(zygoat @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) im afraid when the sox get good (this year) that fair weather fans will come and wont cheer on our team. If your not going to get into the game and stay to the last pitch- DONT COME i hate when people leave early or when they sit there and yell at you when you stand up to cheer I hate when people tell other people what to do with their time.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) All I'm going to say is that athletes are bigger and better than ever. Coincidence? I don't think so. 20 years ago guys were not this big. And my point is that it's really sad that every power hitter who has a below average year is going to be accused of taking something. What about the guys who are clean? What about the guy who busts his ass in the off season and then has a below average year? (coughAaronRowand 2005cough) It's not fair to the Rowand's of the MLB. He has a down year offensively, and understand that this is just an example, and then the guy gets accused of being on steroids? That ain't cool. But, it is the unfortunate reality of the situation. Baseball is forever tainted. We are witnessing the steroid era. Where there's smoke, there's fire.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) Fernando Tatis in the mid 90's with the Cardinals IIRC, but I was more looking to see basically what the most RBIs was to singlehandedly bring a team back was... Someone did it against the Dodgers, IIRC. I faintly remember Tony LaRussa going ape s*** after the game when being interviewed. "He got 8 effing rbi's, what the eff do you think I think about his game today.." (sic)
  4. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Didn't we have a thread already about this? NEVER count out this team. Don't be an idiot. The fans who stayed=class/loyal. And I believe in that thread is was proven that dolts that make the kinds of comments above deserve a nice kick in the balls.

    People suck

    QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) I thought by law, there had to be a female nurse present during all exams by a male Dr. To be honest, I don't know. It's not something I would think would happen, so I would never think to know that. This story makes me so sad.
  6. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Pedro's a shell of himself... remember the tough pitching of the Astros we were up against last World Series? Pedro has pitched WAY better than his record shows.

    http://www.courttv.com/news/2006/06...roeder_ctv.html In lawsuit, patient accuses gynecologist of raping her during surgery By Emanuella Grinberg Court TV An Illinois woman who claims she awoke from surgery to find her gynecologist raping her has filed a lawsuit against the physician and the hospital where the alleged incident occurred.... ....Mary Doe's claims are the latest in a flood of accusations against the gynecologist, whose license was officially suspended in May based on allegations of "impropriety" from four other patients. Records from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations indicate that Schroeder was accused of unnecessarily administering a sedative to a patient in January 2006 before touching her breasts "with his hands and mouth while she was under sedation." A grand jury indicted Schroeder on May 11 on two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from the incident. Another patient complained to the board that in October 2005, after Schroeder completed a gynecological exam on her, he invited her out for a drink while she was still unclothed. In September 2005, another patient who went to the hospital to give birth reported that she awoke from sedation to find Schroeder fondling her breasts. Jane Doe, the subject of the first lawsuit that was filed against Schroeder and the hospital in May 2006, alleged that she awoke from a hysterectomy to find Schroeder "rubbing her mouth with his penis."......... Sonofab****.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) It's about ESPN, not Clemens. Everyone agrees ESPN sucks, but Hangar says it and he gets ripped on. Whatever. I'm done trying. haha Ripped on...? Yea. Stop trying because your looking silly.
  9. If you were interviewing someone.. and they said "I don't feel I have enough exp to do this job", would you say "ok.. bubye..." or consider hiring and training them. Say their proficiency level was about 70%...

    Basketball beating

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) I hate to say it, but you don't put your hands onto someone like that if you aren't ready to back it up. Granted the beating the kid took was WAY too far, but you can't expect to get away with stuff like that. In reality, you don't know who you are stepping to at that point. Anything can happen... Maybe he could have/would have backed it up... if he wasn't out cold.

    Basketball beating

    QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) My beef is where the f*** are this guy's teammates to stomp on that motherf***er? Maybe Brian Anderson can hold a clinic on the proper way to stick up for your teammates. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) I figured there had to be some pushing and shoving as they were coming down the court, even more reason to let it die. Unless of course you're ready and willing to fight and one kid clearly was not. He didn't seem to have much of an opportunity.

    Basketball beating

    QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Uh, there was a shove from that kid before he got his ass kicked. I'm not saying he deserved it, but he did provoke it. The other kid needs to put a pair of gloves on, he's got raw skillz. I'm not a basketball player, but that "push" didn't look any more aggresive than normal play..? Was it more?

  14. ...but hey at least he can still listen to Howard Union Leader Correspondent 1 hour, 25 minutes ago CANTERBURY – The nationwide search for a missing mother, her 8-year-old son and a Nashua teen last seen in Illinois added another state to the story yesterday. Yesterday morning, Jennifer Malone's husband, Rodney, received a package postmarked Knoxville, Tenn. It contained his satellite radio receiver from the minivan his wife left in Friday. Jennifer Malone The Priority Mail package also contained a note from Jennifer reading, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take this with me. Jay." "That's it," said Rodney Malone, still waiting for word on his son, Brennan, who Malone picked up Friday afternoon from Canterbury Elementary. "It seemed really cold to me. I'd rather her throw the (receiver) off a bridge and get a note that Brennan's OK." Rodney Malone It is believed Malone, 32, also fled the state with 16-year-old Christopher Cole, a student at Mount Prospect Academy, where she had worked as a counselor. Investigators from the state Division for Children, Youth and Families were to meet with Jennifer Malone Monday concerning claims she had an inappropriate relationship with a student. She was fired from the academy in early May, according to her husband. Jennifer Malone was seen at a rest stop in Illinois late Sunday night with Cole, his mother Jennifer Reyes, said. Cole, who is familiar with his grandfather's truck route, contacted the grandfather, Frank Corr, and asked him to meet them Sunday, Reyes said. Cole asked his grandfather for money and ignored Corr's plea to return to New Hampshire. "We know they have no money," said Reyes. "It's not doing anybody any good to be doing this. They should just come home." Police are investigating the disappearances. Authorities are trying to secure a warrant against Malone for taking a minor across state lines, but jurisdiction issues — specifically where Malone and Cole may have met up — are complicating the matter, Reyes said. Additionally, charges cannot be filed against Malone for abducting Brennan because she has custody. "The police are telling me they're doing everything they can," said Reyes. Rodney Malone, a shop supervisor at the state prison in Concord who spent 11 months in Iraq as part of a National Guard outfit, filed an emergency court order to obtain sole custody, but that motion has to be presented to Jennifer Malone before it can take effect. Jennifer Malone made a stop in Concord Friday to withdraw money from a bank account and then made a credit card purchase at a Brooks pharmacy in Nashua, according to Rodney Malone. Cole told Corr Sunday they had about $230 on them. "I'm worried they're so desperate they may do something criminal," said Reyes. "I don't know what they're capable of. I'm scared." Rodney Malone was mystified by the package he received from Tennessee yesterday. "Why this," he said, mulling the 11:30 a.m. Tuesday postmark on the package he turned over to State Police detectives. "I don't think they realize the totality of the situation." Jennifer Malone and Cole were last seen driving a 2004 red Ford Freestar minivan with a New Hampshire plate 1203161. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Canterbury Police at 228-1010.
  15. Damn I am ADDICTED to chicken caesar salad....
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) I am not pathetic, only judgemental. 1 out of 2 ain't bad. Oh it wasn't going to be about you..
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Yeah that is definitely true, and it does show the ignorance of people. Apparently all our fans are thugs, gang bangers, jail birds, and homeless/unemployed/both since some rappers wear our gear. Pretty pathetic and judgemental, but hey people are often those 2 things. Oh I could make one hellofa comment here... :rolly
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Same here, everybody hates us since we are the complete opposite of the pathetic, loveable losers to the north whom embrace their sad state of affairs. Apparently winning and having confidence gets peoples panties in a bunch, becaues the hate we get goes far beyond Ozzie Guillen. The "thug" image and the Sox have gone hand and hand since the members of NWA used to sport our gear.
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) I did a long, long time ago. Liar.
  20. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) You can cut the name calling out yourself missy. The only reason everyone has gotten offended is because this story was made out to be more than it really was, a manager who doesnt like a writer. The term is offensive, but this entire situation woulndt have "offended" as many people as it did had it not been for the Withchhunt Mentality that went with it. It isnt asanine as you say, to think otherwise. ABC7 reported on this and guess what? there wasnt one gaygroup mentioned or quoted regarding his apology. Reifert, the SOX vp of communications, said "to anybody who was insulted ....we'll certainly apologize". I didnt see gay groups marching in front of the Cell. I didnt see anyone faxing or writing Reifert and the SOX. So dont put words in my mouth and say "Why do you have a problem with an offensive term" Thats not whats at matter here. Can't take the heat, get out out of the kitchen. You can't be serious...?? The Gay community, and whomever else is offended, is only pissed because Jay told them to be..? Do you know any homosexuals..? Most I know don't even know who Jay is. Again, you think that a man with a public forum makes an offensive comment and it only got this big because of some sort of "witchhunt"...? Not maybe perhaps because it was newsworthy...? Oye ve.. What's assinine is that you think people can't think for themselves and rely on others to tell them how to thing and feel about something. Something made Scott write the press release... or wait.. gasp... perhaps he's part of the "witchhunt" also...? Making this bigger than it had to be...? Damn him... he should be fired IMMEDIATELY for adding fuel to the fire. :rolly I didn't say such a thing. If you're going to quote me, quote me correctly.
  21. QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Dude I am really getting sick of this negative attention. Its like we become the most scrutinized team in baseball. We respond well to it. This is definitely a team that plays better with a chip.

    QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) I like Alligator Gar. I caught one of those once... it almost bit me when I pulled it up on the shore. Ugly little effer..
  23. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) and Im directing this at you Steff. A recent poll of SOX fans showed a majority of them dont think what Ozzie said was embarrassing. Who is embarrassed then? Everyone else it seems. Why are they suddenly in an uproar? Because a group of people cchose to make this a big deal. Whats so hard to understand about that? It isnt rude to suggest that someone is probably making a comment based on the witchhunt-mentality currently at play. Or is that too hard to understand? Or is none of this really happening Steff? You can cut the condescending s*** out right now. The "majority".. that means that there are some that DID find it rude, offensive, and embarrassing. Why are people in an uproar... because it was rude, offensive, and embarrassing to them. I understand just fine that the gay community made this a big deal because THEY WERE OFFENDED. Why is that so hard for YOU to understand? The term is OFFENSIVE to THEM. Why do you have such a problem with that? It's their right. And also their right to make noise about it. You seem to think - at least you are implying it - that the only reason they, and others are offended, is because some media member told them to be. That is just plain asanine. Of course it's happening. It happens all the time. Read more than the sports section and you will see that people protest all types of things all the time.
