QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Without any real facts being released, the circumstances makes you wonder if he took the "easy way out". QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) I find it funny that you have a playful, witty response to Steff's post yet you roll your eyes in another thread where I post a similar response as hers. Perhaps if I had breasts you'd be more playful with me? They're ok, but I don't think they deserve that much credit... Actually, Rib and I were discussing this topic off the board and he knew my witty comment was comming. Plus, I think it's common knowledge that I'll be one of the last ones holding on to the wagon wheel, or have fear about the Sox - especially in July. And with that... I am off to watch this s***ty team again tonight.... They better beat the O's or else.... Grrrr....

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Are you a pessimist or a realist? Undecided. I really just wanted to see if I could get something to fall from the sky...

My evaluation is "They all suck, they are doing horrible, we are doomed, we will not repeat, let's just cancel the rest of the season now."

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) No offense at all because I understand where you're coming from (we really do understand), but we don't give a s***. You might as well stop trying to make this point because we just don't care. ^^. Seriously.

The guy who "threw" the ball back on the field

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) I'll maybe give them a tiny bit of credit for actually showing that they maybe care about and are maybe getting sick and tired of the horrific product that they have to see on the field...And that place is a s***hole anyways... The garbage was sick and stupid, but I have to say I thought it was very telling that many fans tossed their hats, jerseys, and other Cub stuff on the field. We were sitting with Cub fans all around us and they were disgusted the entire game just waiting for the demise. Some of them do realize their team is crap. I feel for those fans. -

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) By a slow curveball. And classy fans in Wrigley cheering. What classy, classy people up on the Northside. Of course that would never happen on our side of town.. :rolly -

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) Good evening all. I just got in, what have I missed? Garland is a pot smoking, walking tampon, bastard. -
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) Dang. Now I feel bad trying to get my 10 yr old daughter to ride the roller coasters at 6 flags a couple weeks ago. My argument was 'Come on....these are safe. You never hear about anyone dying on them.' It wasn't a safety issue. The kid had a heart condition. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060630/ap_on_...zkxBHNlYwN0bQ--

Strange thread

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 07:17 AM) Especially when dealing with people who think they are owed the world and get attitudes about anything and everything. Many of the stories in this thread are exactly why I would hope to never go back to working in a retail enviornment. Just because you pay for a ticket, doesn't mean you own the park. Ding, ding, ding... Save for val - which I would have complained about, I see business as usual for the ushers.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) However there are tons of people getting on planes to fly to remote destinations all over the world who cannot have children that would love to adopt a child. There are PLENTY of children in the US to adopt.. if the laws weren't so effed up, it would be easier for them. Flying all over the world is a last effort for many as the US has screwed them. It really is a very sad situation.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) Steff, you're a fool and a Communist to think otherwise! How dare women have a choice to dictate the happenings in their own uterus. It is uter-U.S. That means the US government has the right to tell a woman what they can and can't do with their reproductive organs! It isn't uter-you! I know, I know. I just wish for one second some of these folks with penis' would stop to think how they would raise a child with no quality of life. It's sad to see such closed minds.

The abortion argument is simply not as black and white as it always seems to be portrayed here... There are more factors than just rape, health of the mother, or birth control for stupid females.

QUOTE(innersanctum @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) This is very similar to a comment that Tommy Lasorda made when he was the manager of the Dodgers about Dave Kingman after he 3 homeruns in one game against the dodgers. I think that it's almost word for word what you said above about Larussa so there may be a chance that you have your manager's and incidents mixed up? That's it. I got mixed up. That was one hysterical rant. Lasorda makes me laugh almost as much as Bobby Knight.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Well, he did save some little girl the embarrassment of picking up the ball. She reached down with her glove just when he picked it up so if he doesn't grab that ball, the girl probably does. I guess that's a positive. The play was way too close to the line. I guessed foul and would have went for it also. -

QUOTE(innersanctum @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) I left the game early, but not too early. Security made me leave in the 13th for a stupid reason I would rather not talk about (I didn't even get to keep the souvenier). The game was over before I got to my car though so I didn't see what happened. I heard about it though. Dumb luck them Everett and Tavares kids have! Holy hell if that was you that grabbed the ball I have to tell you I was laughing my ass off when I watched the tivo of you tossing it back on the field. -
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:06 PM) I would say I was raised in a working class neighborhood and I've seen plenty of fights break out during basketball, football, etc. It doesn't matter where you were raised, human decency is what prevents people from clotheslining someone, and then repeatedly punching them in the back of the head when they're out cold. This f***er should be charged to the fullest extent of the law. I definitely don't think he was intending to make a genralization, but I do think there is some truth to what he's said. In Florida I went to a s***hole middle school where fights broke out daily and the teachers did nothing. When I came back to Illinois and went to Richards - which at the time was considered an "elite" school there were almost no fights - save for after school maybe 3 times in my years there, and I found this to be over the line (though I didn't play basketball so I don't know what is or isn't acceptable "roughness" during a game). Things sure are different these days, that's for sure.
