QUOTE(IlliniBob72 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 09:58 AM) Where is all this talk about Tracey willfully blowing off Ozzie coming from? Hell, the pitch Blaylock grounded to second was a good 2 feet inside, not over the heart of the plate. Ozzie will always hold a special place for me for last season, but he is demonstrating that he is an ass. First with his thoughts on Uggie Urbina and Jason Grmisley, and now this. He'd better continue winning or his welcome will be worn out quickly. To steal Ozzie's line of thinking, if you are an ass and you win, you are firey and a free-speaker. If you are an ass and you lose, you're just an asshole no one wants around. What did he say about Uggie...?? Damn, I should probably read the newspapers.

OFFICIAL GO CUBBIES THIS WEEKEND THREAD!!!
Steff replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:49 AM) To you folks so tortured over the prospect of either of these teams winning - look at the bright side. You get to see one of them lose . Anyway, if you think being a Sox fan is a tough situation right now, imagine being a diehard Cub fan having to root for your team to win, which could usher the Sox back into first place. SFF Tell me about it. They are holding a water cooler meeting here trying to determine how they want to root this weekend. Good grief.. the thought of WANTING my team to loose reaks of triple ply industrial strenght tin foil. -
QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:37 AM) Wow, are you done yet? Quit reading the threads for crying out loud. I'll be done when useless unrelated BS is no longer posted about me. I'll read what I choose, but thanks for your concern.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:32 AM) who is jay mariotti to question whether Ozzie is the right guy to lead this team to an encore title? that's the dumbest thing i have ever heard. A guy with an opinion...? He's done the exact same thing many here have done. He just has a larger forum to express it.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) I saw this on the news last night. There was also another crazy story about a few guys going into the kitchen of a restaurant and killing a guy who worked there. See.. this is why I do not watch the news. :headshake

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) Steff accused me of being a cub fan, so I was being a wise guy (forgot to use green) and I told her, "your right, im busted, i just became a sox fan recently blah blah" I was kidding. Ive been a sox fan since day 1 Oh for the love of God.. cut the s*** would ya. With each and every post you dig yourself a deeper hole and reveal just how much of an idiot and a liar you really are. I never said you were a Cub fan, not that there is anything wrong with that if you were (go check the locked thread.. it wasn't me that called you one). For the past 4 years you have leeched on to folks over at WSI who have been nothing but nice to you and now here you are throwing them under a bus. That speaks volumes about your credibility and loyalty. I said the day you slithered over here that folks would not tolerate your condescending tone, and I was right. Regardless of whether your count is wrong, your delivery is insulting, boorish, disrespecful, bad-mannered, uncooth, foul, and vulger. You had 2 ways to present yourself to a somewhat virginal audiance - in regards to your media watch - and you turned the wrong way. That's on you. Keep up the diversion of using me to mask your unintelligent rants. I'm used to such simple minded tactics. But know what your selling isn't being bought as evident by the continued questioning of your dim-witted posts.

All kidding aside, if the product caused him health issues I think they do have a case. They could have made the point crystal clear without disclosing the bedroom issues.

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) I can understand your position and could understand if a child was only going to be a vegetable then I would consider it. I only have problems where a woman decides to have an abortion just to have one to get rid of there mistake. OK, I understand your position better now. And I do agree that abortion as birth control is stupid. Especially with so many other alternatives - besides not having sex. By the way, what happened above is what happened to my step daughter. Her first pregnancy was interrupted, the second she had and for 5 agonizing weeks we watched little Joey die before our eyes. It was something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Just try to understand that circumstances aren't always one way or the other.

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) I have already said in an earlier post that any kind of condition where the mother and or child is at stake is a medical procedure not a abortion/murder. I define abortion as a mother wanted to rid of there mistakes by killing the child. But that's my point.. there is no MEDICAL risk to either. She will deliver just fine, and the kid will be put on a respirator, surgery will be performed, the organs will be put back where they belong. The only difference is that the damage is done and the child will be a vegetable. Your definition is flawed. There are a million reasons a woman could give for having an abortion OTHER than it being a form of birth control. I'm not asking you to change your stance. Just be a bit more open minded to others as you have no idea what kind of shoes they have worn.

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) I will back off from the rape or incest because this was not of person's own doing. But in any other case no I do not support abortion and could give a s*** if it is 1 day or 9 months along. If a person goes out and has their fun and it ends up with conceiving a child they should not be able to deal with it by killing it. And I don't know how anyone could support it. So you would support having a child whom you discover has a diaphramic hernia at 26 weeks, which is when the diaphram ruptures pushing it's lungs, heart, kidneys, and whatever else is in it's way, up into the chest cavity which then causes the heart not to be able to beat distributing oxygen which then results in brain damage to the point that the child will surely be a vegetable all it's life? Not all women that interrupt their pregnancies are irresponsible. And not all situations are as black and white as you seem to think they are.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) Details? I was at Disney World with my folks... yeeaarrss ago. I was 10 I think. And I'm in line for the Dumbo ride. All of a sudden here comes this huge group of security, the crowd parts, and there he is... ahhh.. the King of Pop - he was the King back then . He walks in the exit and gets in one of the Dumbo's. There are people screaming, film crews all over the place, etc, etc.. At this point I am thinking.. "cool, but I better not get screwed out of my ride....". One of his crew yells "I need a kid!!!". Without blinking my father grabs me, throws me to this man and next thing I know.. I am not only getting my ride... but I am sitting next to MJ. It wasn't that eventful. Quiet. Uncomfortable. We spoke a bit about how my visit there was going. He told me about his llama, bla, bla, bla. The only thing I really remember is that he had bandaids on his fingers of the hand that wasn't gloved, and talked like a girl. After the ride - which I swear went on for an hour we got off, he posed for pictures and my folks had to sign away MY first born stating that if my image was used in anything we wouldn't come looking for some cash. Years later they sent us a letter telling me I was in that video where he rides the amusement ride (took me about 482 time of watching it but I am in it for like 2 seconds) and supposedly I was also in some documentary about his vacation, and some IMAX movie he had going on at EPCOT years ago. It was pretty cool back then. Gage and Boz hounded me for months to let them see the pics - which now I think are way.. umm... a cigarette in London.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) I'm not ignorant. I KNOW what happened. I am INFORMED of what happened. SoxFan is ignorant on this matter. And if that is what you mean then ok I agree. I don't believe for a second that you rely on the message board for 99.9% of the news. I am sure you listen to the radio, read the internet, and watch some TV. Then he shouldn't be in the major leagues anyway. Good riddance. Not ignorant as in not informed... ignorant as in rude. He asked a question and you snap at him to look it up? Who the hell made you the MB police to tell people what they can and can't ask? Rhetorical. I'm aware you're informed. Did I say you weren't? No. Believe it. I rarely pick up a newspaper and if I do it's to do the crossword, or check movie listings. Hell, I have 71 newspapers from last offseason that I never even looked at and will someday (Jim hopes) will make a scrapbook from. I don't watch the news other than for the weather and traffic, if I'm listening to the radio it's Howard on Sirius or a baseball game on XM, and the internet stuff I read I get from THIS BOARD and the posters HERE. Good riddance.. I wish it were that easy sometimes.. :headshake

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Depends on your idea of "famous". Stiv Bators (read my recent blog entry at my site right now for this whole story...it's a long read. Brian Baker numerous times Pat Dubar Wattie (he told me to "f*** off", which was special) Carcass Axl Rose In one night I hung out with The Dogs D'Amour and all of Mother Love Bone There are many others that I am forgetting now. I am also in touch with a ton of musicians now days for certain projects and things I am working on. Those listed are just the ones from "before the internet", when meeting these people was a little tougher. Kid are you the one that works in PR? We had a thread like this over the winter didn't we? Can we get the search fixed...???

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) Dont mind him steff... I think he gets on everyone's nerves and really says a lot of dumb things anyways that dont add much to the conversation. I'm not going that far.. but for the love of Ozzie... we ALL do this all season long. We Monday morning quarterback. Doesn't make anyone a prick. My $0.02. Now... let me get back into b**** mode. This nice stuff is icky... :puke

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) No, but when your being ripped to shreds for no reason other than disagreeing with the teams manager over a controversial incident, and then constantly saying the same s*** over and over makes you a know it all and a prick. Who the hell is ripping someone to shreads...? I will agree.. I do see a prick in this thread. QUOTE(SouthSide78 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 03:35 PM) This article doesn't disagree with Guillen asking Tracey to hit Blaylock; it's just the scene that unfolded afterward he didn't like. Plunking is part of the game, so we might as well get over it. http://www.sportsmemo.com/handicappers/veno/articles/633/ QUOTE "I do, however, disagree with humiliating Tracey. Despite Guillen's combustible style, there’s got to be a better way to handle that situation. .." That writer is a prick. :rolly
