    Yes BeGood you can go home with a picc line. When it's placed for an extended period of time (months such as for dialysis) it's not a big deal at all. I would guess this would be similar. Glad she's able to eat solid food. That definitely means she's getting better.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:51 AM) Pods should not be suspended he was getting Barrett off of AJ, or at least attempting to. If you recall when Ventura went to the mound after Nolan Ryan, Ryan got no time even though he gave Robin several noogies. Obviously, I haven't seen the tape in detail, but the only White Sox player who should or could be suspended by what I saw is Anderson. I heard Joey Cora might have to sit for a while, but I never saw his involvement. I also think MLB has really dropped the ball on this, waiting 5 business days to announce penalties, which will certainly be followed by appeals. Punishments, IMO, should be handed out promptly, and if players want to appeal, with modern technology the appeal could be done in a day or two. Enough of letting these things drag on for weeks. Scott went after Barret. Watch the tape. He will get a suspension. And Anderson will get more than 3 games. It's been 6 days - 4 days of review - not weeks.

    QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) There was one scene where Bobby did an impersonation of Ozzie's call to the pen in the World Series but he added a little extra gesture at the end. Wasn't kid-friendly but I laughed my ass off. :finger
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) I bet you would have, and I mean in the best of ways. There would have definitely been some blood shed... and fuggettaboouuttt that silly little cup protecting anything.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) I would have been hard pressed to not do at least what Pods did if I was in that exact situation. I was livid at my house when it was going on. This is one of the few fights that only really had one instigator. I hope the MLB really lays it down hard on MB. I totally agree. I would have done a LOT more damage...
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) He didn't really grab him by the throat, I just rewatched it again and checked a few pics. He drove himself in to Barretts chest knocking him backwards while the Ump reached in a grabbed barrett then BA flew by and grazed Barrett's right eye which lead to Pods falling over Barrett after that Pods' arm hooked under Barrett's left arm and they both fell. He never had him by the throat from what I see. He went for his throat and got a hand full of his chest protector. Which is clear in the pic above, and will be clear to the review board. Intent will get him a game or 3.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) I'm not sure about Pods...yeah he did a lot, but he was also RIGHT THERE when it happened, it's not like he was coming out of the dugout, AJ was sucker punched right in front of him, what was he supposed to do, nothing? For starters, since he felt compelled he could have (should have) stepped in between them without grabbing MB by the throat...
  8. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) I paid damn well my attention to the game. I never missed a single pitch. I went to watch a game, but I also went to have a good time. I knew exactly what was going on, why they brought in Nelson to face Thomas, and how Thorton came in after, and then Jenks came in with 2 on and 2 out, and struck the guy out. I damn well paid attention, and I still did the wave. If you think I am the only one that has the ability to do this, you are wrong. Sure, I bet there were some people who didn't pay any attention to the game going on, but thats not even close to a majority of the crowd. Baseball is a slow sport, and people can do things like the wave inbetween pitches and still be fine. Hmm.. a bit touchy are we...? :rolly I attend many games at Comiskey kiddo... the majority can't do both. And those that watch - as you claim you do - don't do the wave in the late innings of a 1 run ball game.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:35 AM) hmmm, my daughter likes to play the opposite of that game. Dont hold my hand, and I shall run around like a maniac until you get me. I need to teach her the glue game, it sounds much more constrained. Oh... it's a game designed to fight and wrestle with her. She usually fights like mad to get away. Monday she just rolled her eyes at him as to say "what the hell dude.. I'm here to watch the game".
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) I don't know if you heard her but when Jim was playing "glue" with her (which consists of him holding on to her arm, hand, or whatever, and not letting go) she said "uncle Jim... don't you see the baseball game?"
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:16 AM) Fan etiquette is at an all time low and unfortunately I don't see it getting better unless sports teams (in general) make a conscious and ongoing effort to educate fans. I am not talking about the wave specfically, but really any behavior that interferes with another fan watching/enjoying the game. As for the wave, I hate it but lots of people like it, whenever there's a big crowd it ends up being majority rules with a lot of these things. Not to get into this discussion again but I remember as a kid and my dad taking me to games at old Comiskey, I never even thought about leaving my seat until after an inning and neither did he. Neither did anyone else in the row. It was standard operating procedure, kind of an unwritten rule, that you don't interfere with other people watching the game, i.e. walk in front of them when the play is going on. Well, that morphed into people walking out in between at bats which is not a big deal, and then that morphed into people doing whatever they hell they want to do, whenever they want to do it. Unfortunately it's part of life with big crowds. I don't like it but that's the way it is. Monday night I went to get Destiny who was sitting behind the plate with my sister.. when I brought her over to our section and were waiting for the 3rd out.. some ass walks in front of us and she says "hey... game going on!". He didn't hear her. Turns out he was sitting in the 5th row on the end so when we walk down she spots him and is sure to tell him... "you're not supposed to walk when the game is going on". She's 5.
  12. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 25, 2006 -> 07:08 AM) Haha, you think because people do the wave, they don't care about the game? Wow. Well... you might care, but it shows you're not paying attention to the game. "Oooo.... here it comes... wait, wait.. ok.. here we go... wheeee..... hehe.. that was so fun. Look.. it's coming around again... Ooooo... "

    My Mother

    Stints have come a looooong way. My grandmother has one for her dialysis. Swelling from IV's is fairly common but freaky because everyone reacts differently. Prayers for your mom absolutely. Hang in there kiddo.
  14. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) An update of sort, apparently Nifong released 'everything he has' to the defense, 1300 pages of stuff. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,196631,00.html In it, it contains information that the accuser supposedly "had sexual intercourse with at least three men around the time of the alleged attack. According to those sources, when investigators questioned her after DNA tests on the semen found inside her body did not match any of the Duke players, the accuser gave police the name of her boyfriend and two men who drove her to her dancing engagements." Not in any way, shape, or form a defense of this woman... but how many partners a woman had means nothing. Prostitutes get raped. "Leaving Los Vegas" sadly is an everyday occurance.
  15. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) Not surprising poll People who picked Aj were Twins fans, cub fans, angel fans, and all of america who saw aj in the whole drop third ordeal. From the link above.... "That's the question Sports Illustrated asked players in its current issue."
  16. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) Yeah, I assumed somebody already had it up. Heck, my wife emailed it to me this afternoon, so if she's seen it then everybody must have by now. I've gotten it at least a dozen times today.
  17. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) I just love this. . . Priceless. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...pic=50102&st=50
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Same friend. Oh yea..
  19. My girlfriend won Garland 3 or so weeks ago.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) The non-used premium tickets are available to sox season ticket holders as well. I call us "public" also..
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:15 AM) I'm old school about this, I belive in dress codes and business attire.....as long as they are clear, fair and consistent. Agree. I don't like the no capri rule, but I follow it. I warned HR.. they said she would have no case... :rolly
  22. QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 24, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) There is a way, but it's a little chancey. VIP tickets, (the ones that are behind home plate in between both dugouts) are also the ones that brokers sell.Whatever the brokers don't sell, go back to US Cellular. They are in fact able to sell those at the box office ONLY on the day on which the game is played on. The Cell, then has to sell them at face value.The chancey part is, be at the box office early.....as soon as it opens up, Ask for best of.....for todays game, and if any VIP tickets are available. On Franks Monday return game, that's how I got my ticket. along with others that I talked to that were in my row. I was fortunate to be in Sec 133 Row 25 (BEHIND Home Plqate). Granted, they are not always available, but it has worked for me 3 times in the last few years. Mondays game had 39,000 plus in attendance, and was sold out when trying to get tickets on line or over the phone........but yet......the box office still had the VIP's! I wanted to post a few photos in another forum from where I sat, but the day that my computer/photo imaging skills ever get to the point where I don't drive all the admins nuts, is the day that Paul Konerko and Cecil Fielder outruns Scott Podsednik and Carl Crawford and in a relay race. If your reading this guys......sorry for all of the hassels. Don't mean to be a pain. The Sox don't "buy back" tickets.. The tickets spread out from 129 to 135 are friends and family tickets that are reserved for the Sox and the visiting team and if they aren't used then they are released for sale to the public.
  23. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 24, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) I remember you telling us about that. WOW, I guess she wasn't playing eh? I don't blame her. If I had the time I may have joined her efforts. The dress code is a joke. I just had a meeting with the VP of Sales... his response.. "everyone wear's capri's.. what's the big deal?" The executive staff doesn't even know the policy...
  24. I told them if they were going to have the stupid rule to enforce it across the board or there will be trouble... they laughed. Employee got sent home in April for wearing capri's. Started taking pictures and documenting "dress code violations" since then. This morning the suit was served. Now they are freaking out. :headshake
