  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) you're such an alcoholic. Yea.. so? The Sox aren't doing anything unless it turns a profit. Staffing, insuring, and securing costs would not be covered unless alcohol was served.
  2. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) correct on the POS, but who said the sox have to serve alcohol? I hope you're kidding..
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:08 AM)
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) Are you just trying to anger the Illini faithful with that comment??? They are already on edge after losing Sherron Collins to Kansas yesterday But if they don't serve alcohol...couldn't they open the place? I just don't see the point in opening without alcohol. That's where all the $$ is made.
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) we got to watch the national championship game this year in assembly hall, i don't understand what the deal is? For starters your POS assembly hall doesn't serve alcohol.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) LOL. Check out Brooks reply to the Soxtalk letter this morning. He's downright giddy. Buy him a beer and he'll give in. LOL You think that is giddy.. LMAO.. you should see some of the text messages I got last night.
  7. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) See you Saturday for Game One!! Is there going to be a WS tailgate party?? Just drinking at Jim's likely.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) You mean you don't normally have them in? Oooooh. Burn. They are always in.. Comprehension outside of Iowa is greatly taken for granted.. :rolly
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Well, to be fair, you probably scare them. Hmm.. maybe I should try to use my b**** Fangs to force them into doing this..
  10. No. Insurance liability. We (season ticket holders as a group) asked till we were blue in the face in 2000.
  11. We can hit Clemens - in his 21-4 season 2 losses were to us, but I'd rather play the Cards also. They are a great team, but their pitching is tired.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Like I said, I want one of those shirts on me as soon as I can. JC Penny is about 45 miles closer than Grandstand, and online might take a week. Im not worried, I have given about a $750 to Grandstand this year. You did not mention JC Penny in your previous posts. Good luck getting the gear.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) Thanks for that. I dont have work today after class, and while I would like to give my $$ to Grandstand, I want them now. You can order online from Grandstand.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) and I got some PMs from people argreeing with what I said, Hehe.. little girls. And you're right.. you had the balls to say it Welcome back just in time to celebrate.
  15. From a White Sox Press Release (10/11/2005 2:50 PM ET): "CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox will host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tonight in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. Before the game's 7:00 p.m. start, recording artist Alice Peacock will perform the national anthem. White Sox legend Bill Pierce, who played with the Sox in the 1959 World Series, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch."
  16. Anyone hear Colon is definitely a no go for the CS.. got an email from a semi-journalist.. not sure of the reliability.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) so now anytime someone gets out of a jam, should it be compared to what El Duque did? We should be so lucky. The minute we are out, or the series is over it's back to... "The Chicago White Sox... who are they..?"
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) Were the situations even close enough to be mentioned in the same sentance? No. Did I say anything about the situations being the same? No. Did they clarify? Yes. Did they both get out of the mess? Yes.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) No, El Duque was put in with the bases loaded and no outs in a 1 run game in Boston (a hitters park) against the best hitting team in baseball. He didnt have anything to do with the runners on base. Santana put two runners on and had a 3 run cushion (might have been a 2 run lead) in Anaheim, a pitchers stadium. Did he get out of it..? Yes.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Let's see if we can everyone into their seats before the intors. My sources confirm that David Yow will sing the anthem tonight. I'll be there belting it out. Your source got bad info.... Alice Peacock is singing it.
  21. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Jimbo's? Or Grandstand? LMAO... Grandstand.. Can you tell what's on my mind.
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) How about the first pitch? Any word on that, anyone? I am personnally very surprised that Hizzoner hasn't thrown one out yet. Maybe for the WS, if we get there. Several have stated Billy Pierce.
  23. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) Does anyone know where to get one of these? I think I have looked everywhere but have come up empty. Help me out, PLEASE In stock at Jimbo's also.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) What pisses me off is what I heard. I was told (I didnt watch most of the game) that Santana put two people on during one of the innings, and then proceded to get out of it unscatched, and the announcers said something like "Thats just like what El Duque did for the White Sox the other night!". Again, I didnt see it myself, but if its true, its bulls***. Well.. umm.. it is what Duque did.. got out of it.. isn't it?
