  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I've got something else up my sleeve... Text message...
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Is that the Chicago number? Because I called another number and got right through to the White Sox menu. Yea, the Michigan and Ohio #'s are wide open.
  3. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) 10 percent? i thought it was only 205 per seat...I could be wrong, but yes I would do it The current deal is 50% of the cost of the package.
  4. A lot of people were not willing to make a several thousand $$ commitment with a chance to playoff tickets. Perhaps you need a memory refresher.. but at the time they were initially promoting this the Sox were playing like crap. BTW.. they got somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 new st seats sold then, so I'll say from that - and from the apparent demand for this deal - that your 1000 # is low. As for you questioning the fans on this site and their lack of purchase earlier... Pretty f***ing rude.
  5. No idea. But if I had to guess 1 ticket per seat purchased, per game. That's what we got and we're full season holders.
  6. Some comments from Brooks.. ________________________________________ From: Brooks Boyer Sent: Tuesday, October 18, 2005 8:08 AM To: Stephanie Subject: RE: Ticket Sale I know some of the decisions I make will not be popular with the fans. It is the tough part of the job. I realize we are decreasing the pool of WS tickets that will go on sale to the general public, but I would prefer to be good every year and have October baseball in our park be an annual occurance. To do that, we have to pay the players. The more tickets we can move for next year leveraging WS tickets gives us the ability to be flexible and aggressive when it comes to player acquisition in the off season. Building the season ticket base is the key to that. I know you understand this because of our past conversations. I look at this as a smart long term decision even though I will take some heat from fans in the short run. In the end, it gives us an opportunity to put a better product on the field. Of anyone, you know how much I appreciate the core fans at WSI and Soxtalk. I know many will not agree with the process and there will many diehards that are pissed off at about 12:30pm today, but I do believe it gives us the best opportunity to field a better team, which I believe we all want. Regardless, it is a great problem to have because it means we are in the WS. Brooks
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) I'm gonna try and get a ticket to the Bears game on Sunday Bears tickets taken care of.
  8. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) It's really not that great of an idea if you are talking about pleasing the fans, as they just pissed us off even more. The majority of people jumping on this deal are brokers. It's not only a great idea.. it's brilliant. Thinking beyond today... wouldn't it be nice to have the problem of getting playoff tickets EVERY October...? That aint going to happen if the Sox don't have the $$ to pay the players they need to make that happen. The key to that is filling the stadium. Season tickets for next year is guaranteed $. Money that goes straight to the pay Paul (or whomever else they go after to make a difference next year) fund. I realize I'm in a different place then most of this board in terms of tickets, and I feel bad for you diehards.. but in terms of the future.. I'm fine with whatever they can do to make this team a dynasty.
  9. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) i dont no if you are talking about at soxfest or not, but at the party thing on saturday at soxfest he was gone He was with us for about 3 hours on Friday night, and falling down in both Detroit and Boston.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) I just e-mailed my rep to confirm this. I meant the cost
  11. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) steff you have any other numbers to the sales dept? I just have direct #'s to reps. I think you have to use that # for this deal.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) so how does that one cat already have tickets? Season ticket holder - or bought tickets from a broker who bought from a season ticket holder. Anything you buy right now - that can be delivered today - is from a season ticket holder. :headshake
  13. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) just the 200 a seat deposit and they will gurantee me tickets?? No.. "A 50% deposit is required". Roughly... minimum $4K. (I think.. I don't know the exact prices of anything other than my section which would be $7K.) Ribbie... can you confirm?
  14. Guaranteed SOX Series tickets -- with a catch Published October 17, 2005 The White Sox announced Monday that they would guarantee tickets to any of the four World Series games scheduled for U.S. Cellular Field -- if the buyer puts down a deposit for 2006 season tickets. Individual tickets for the Series go on sale at noon Tuesday. Here's the way press release phrased it: "Fans wishing to guarantee a seat for the 2005 World Series can make a deposit on 2006 White Sox season tickets and then purchase 2005 World Series tickets. A 50 percent deposit on the 2006 tickets is required. " For information, contact the White Sox sales department at 312-674-1000. The team said the offer ends at 11 a.m. tomorrow or while supplies last.
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) Will do. Oh hell.. since you're gettin 'em. I got some miles to burn.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) It's currently raining and hailing in Los Angeles. And NUKE said "The Day After Tomorrow" wasn't real..
  17. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Unfotunately the Yankees, Red Sox and Angels all need a power hitting / excellent fielding first baseman. I doubt we will be alble to sign Konerko for under 13 million a year. This I agree with. I don't think Paul will be here next year and I think it will be because we will not pay him $15 million a year.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Can't believe that would be true. I mean we sold our tickets for the Yanks-Angel series on the Angels website for 3 times facevalue. I'm assuming if we can sell it through there venue at a higher price, you can sell them through any venue at a higher price (assuming you follow the laws). Pfftt... bastard.
  19. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Are tickets ONLY available through phone/internet or are ticketmaster outlets selling tickets as well? Phone & internet only.
  20. QUOTE(Balance @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) You know who we absolutely need to throw some more money at? Don Cooper. We need to keep the Yankees' grubby mitts off of him. Pay him whatever he wants. He's under contract through 2006, but we can't afford to lose him. He's working wonders with our pitching staff! Coop's not going anywhere. He's franchise.
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Can anybody explain why a ticket broker such as Tickets Now is NOT considered scalpers? I have a ticket now right in the same building with me (there are only two offices here really, us and them), and I just don't get how that is a legal business. Is it because they pay taxes on their profits?
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) as much money as i can make on selling my tickets for the WS, I would stab myself in my eye if I ever did that. I would never, EVER sell my series tickets. NEVER.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) They could. The one thing they will get you for is if the fans who buy your seats do something stupid, the team will hold YOU responsible. You could lose your season tickets if the people who buy them do something stupid. I hope some of the ST holders who are attempting to rape Sox fans sell their tickets to assholes that cause trouble and they do get their tickets revoked. Effers.. some jerkoff in my section is selling his tickets for an insane amount of $$... that pissed me off.
  24. $10... are you serious..? What do you want? The entire paper? Just the sports section..?
