Anyone know if some pro teams suspend season ticket holders for scalping their tickets... ? I've heard it so many times.. but wonder if it's just urban legend.

QUOTE(Mickster @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) You didn't subract Paul's $8.75M current contract, but you added in approx. $11M for next year. Your math is still off. He left it there and added 2.75 million to next years amount - estimating that he'll be signed for $11 mil next year.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) there is absolutely no way to get a ticket for under 5 bills for this game from a scalper. those scalpersuckfaceticketers will be gone by wednesday night & they will be lining the liquor stores for months to come with the loot tripping on us with "you got a quarter BS?!" to think that the ALCS tix went for $50/seat in the upper over home plate. WHAT A FREAKIN STEAL! Alrighty then... :rolly

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) If I think I know what you're asking...the money made from the US Cellular deal has nothing to do with payroll. That money goes to the park and its renovations, additions, etc. Yea.. if that's what you mean Addy is right. The US Cell $$ can not be used for anything but the park.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) I was wondering about the contract with US Cellular, maybe Steff would know the answer to this. I know the money they made from the naming rights contract was invested into improving the stadium. With the completion of the FUNdamentals deck, are the improvements completed? Will the contract revenues then be added to Payroll? Thanks. From rumors, they are not done - beyond the seats. What do you mean by "contract revenues"...??

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) This is very true. Probably not a good idea to use it then..

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Hopefully the increased supply after tomorrow means that the price will go down. Hook or crook, I'm going to Game 1. If all else fails, I'm going to be outside the park the whole time. Do that and you'll get in. The last thing those assholes want to do is use the tickets for toilet paper.. you're not going to get them at face.. but a reasonable $100 or $200 I would say is likely. The longer you wait, the lower the price. If I didn't have tickets that's exactly what I would do.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) can you put it in downloadable form please?Never mind. Thanks alot. I think i might use this as part of the intro to my radio show friday. MLB owns it, correct?

Scout seats going for $9500 on some sites.. :headshake And apparently my seats can be sold for just under $5K each... Hmmm.. that's just about a $5K profit after I pay for next years tickets...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) I have been the high estimate all along, so why stop now. $90 million minimum. I really think $100 million is possible if KW can find the right trading partners. I really get the feeling that Konerko will be resigned, and we will go out and find a high OBP #3 hitter to get on in front of him. We are in an excellent position for the offseason because we can take on salaries, which means we should be able to give up less in players and prospects too. I hate to look past the World Series, but I am really excited about this off season. Put down the pipe..

He's allergic to (he says) champaign. He is not allergic to all alcohol. Several of us here can vouch on that one.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) I'll be trying as well... I just might have to figure out how to come up there. I mean, s***, how often does this happen? Kap.. if you get any you HAVE to keep one for your self and Mrs Kap and come up. You can't get tickets and not go..

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Same here...I could not get to sleep last night, woke up for my morning classes and was so damn jazzed (usually I'm all tired) but I still got adrenaline pumping. Regardless, expect text messages for the rest of the playoffs, it seemed to work well in Anaheim cause they found ways to win. Why would we text when we're sitting next to eachother.. to the Ticketmaster Gods..

QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) that was... kinda my point... Duh... I'm exhausted today.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Well, if I got extras I have a few people I would ask, and saddly enough, they aren't people on this board. That is if I had two extras. But those two people are the guys responsible for my being at game 2 of the ALCS. After I got them in, I then go to some of the fine folks here. But ya gotta make right with the people that did right by you to begin with. But I am expecting to be sitting here at 12:05PM tomorrow going "damn...". I hear ya. I will be trying for 8 extras tomorrow, 3 of which would go to folks here.
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) the fact that that's even an issue really sucks cuz anyone on this board (with the exception of maybe SoxRock ) is a big enough fan to deserve tix - but thats not the way the system works unfortunately. LMAO... It's got nothing to do with how much of a fan anyone is. I know for a fact that there's about, ohhh, a dozen kids here that would rather burn their tickets than sell them to me for $10,000 each...
-
And just a thought.. if you are fortunate enough to get extras.. it would probably be best to handle the transactions privately. There's going to be folks who don't get in.. and the last thing someone with extras wants is someone on here who thinks they are your "good buddy" and feels a right to one of your extras. If you get extras I'm sure most of you know exactly who you would, and wouldn't, offer them to.

Several people said multiple windows kicked them out for DS tickets.. As long as you and your dad have separate mailing addresses you'll be fine using his card. Good luck.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Saw II I saw an extended trailer for this and I was surprised as to how good it looks. I don't think I would go as far as saying something I hadn't seen shouldn't have been made.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) He sucked in the playoffs. Yeah. I just don't think its fair to judge another person in that situation unless, you have been in the same shoes. Agree. That Brian.. don't mind him.. he just likes to kick people while they are down.

QUOTE(LostInBoston @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) I'm glad I'm not the only one who called in sick today... Lightweights..

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) I don't care for arod. But, this thread is Bulls***. I lost my mother 4 years ago and still can't get over it. ( I never will) I don't think "getting over it" is the issue. More so.. coping and dealing and not making it an excuse for not doing your job.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) shhhhh, the kids are dreaming. How about 2X for parking, that's closer to the truth. Everything is more expensive during a WS. Exactly. And tickets, yes.. tickets, would probably be crazy also.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Very true...but if they charge half price for parking, stil sell food and stuff they will still do alright. From the sounds of it this seems like a moot point anyway, but for something that happens, well never, this is something that would be awesome if they could make it happen. LMAO.. Half price for parking???
