  1. Thanks southsider. I had no idea. Guess in order to get an accurate # I'd have to go back through all the attendance figures for those 3 years and subtract out the walkups.
  2. Oh damnit! Just picked him up on my fantasy team. Figures!
  3. You're right, I didn't figure in the merchandise, food, parking, etc. Still it's probably not going to exceed 8-10 million. Half-price Mondays-Tuesdays subtract from that $40 average. Now if we'are talking about extra million fans (if Sox pull a Minnesota in playoffs 2002), then $30-40 per fan becomes something very substancial. Certainly enough to get Vlad and retain Colon...and fill up Chairman's pockets aplenty. You also can't compare Vladimir to Belle in terms of popularity and marketability. Not even close. He could give Sammy run for his money. I don't think half price Monday's & Tuesday's were going on then... I could be wrong since I don't buy indiviual game tickets. But lets say (since most of the tickets are at least $20) that it's a game ticket, 2 beers ($13), parking (back then $13), and a hot dog (2.25). That's $48 per fan. That's $11.8 million right there. That's not including any gift shop crap. And I'm being way conservative on the beer and food thig. Even people that don't drink beer are paying $3.75 for each soda. 4, maybe 5 a game? ($11.25). Regardless.. it's a moot point now.

Is there a third option? BTW Albert Belle was my favorite player while with the Sox. "DimaAl88" was my moniker for 2 years...Which of course didn't prevent me from taunting him whenever we went to games in 1998. He was sitting in that little chair in the corner between railing and clubhouse before each at bat...lol, still have a picture of him staring back at us with that vicious glare...So what really happened to that woman, Steff? Are you her? Not really. There isn't even a second one, IMO. Be concerned about what they do on the field and that's it. You have made this DJ thing out to be like it's personal with me. I root for him to help the Sox win. What he does off the field does not effect my feelings for him as a player. In the back of my mind I think about the crap I hear and wonder when the bomb will drop, but until then, his play is my #1 concern. And to put to bed the issue about Ray.. I don't hate DJ or Harris or Miles or anyone because they (for lack of a better term) replaced Ray. I hate the Sox for Ray being gone. There was a false sense of security given (and the BS "leaked" to the media about the $$ he was "demanding" - which was NOT $8 Million!) and in the end he got screwed (ala Fisk, Cameron, etc..). But Ray is better off because of it. He's a lot happier now to go to "work" and doesn't fear being blindsided by his "bosses". Ray could have tore the Sox a new a-hole when he left. The stories that could be told... (HSC I know you know what I'm talking about here).. oh Lord you don't even want to know. As for that woman. Yes, I am her (please refrain from the "what the hell were you thinking" comments please). About the only truth to any of the stories and media reports was the fact that we were dating. The rest was sensationalized 90%. Unfortunately the media can report anything based on a source requesting anonymity and there isn't anything anyone can do about it.

    Top 5's..

I'm doing top 5 by position. I have Brown on my list of pitchers. But with a question mark. And I have the exact same catchers.. LOL

    Top 5's..

Guys.. my boss just asked me (I guess he's having some sort of debate - amoungst Cub fans.. can you imagine that conversation) who I think are the top 5 pitchers, catchers, and position players TODAY. Most of my picks are already set.. but I was wondering what some of yours were and if mine vary much from the general thoughts here.
  10. The benefits of a hard head God bless him.

  13. 200,000/3,000,000=$15 a fan??? That is pretty low IMO considering the cheapest ticket we have in the building is $14. So those extra 200,000 people are all going to show up to the park in public transportation, buy the cheapest seat and not buy any concessions or suveneirs? I think an estimate of $30 to $40 of revenue per fan is much more realistic. When you factor in $15 to park, at least $20 for a lower deck seat, $4.75 a beer, $4 a program etc, $15 a fan is WAY too low. Good point.. It's more like $30 a fan at the least (and that's just a LD ticket, one beer and a hot dog). That's about $6 mil in addition revenue. I was likely a wash with all the additional fans, food, beer, and crap that was bought.

Oh, I love it. This is not directed specifically at you Yas.. but in one breath it's "who cares when they do off the field, bla, bla, bla.." and the next there is crusifying (as I did with that word I'm sure) past players. Make up your damn minds or shut the hell up.

Bull Durham not one of the choices.. ? That's just un-American.
  16. ...whereas you are a selfish, talentless asshole. Glad we cleared that up. This moment of clarity brought to you by the same person who thought a fan attacking an umpire was great Eh, leave "brando" or "voodoo" alone. He cant help that he is psychotic. Bmr.. I don't think Brando is Voodoo...
  17. RDW.. I was thinking the same thing. By the way.. nice to see you again

1998 ring a bell? It was like in all the newspapers, no? Rings a bell more than you know. You might want to consider not believing everything you read in the papers. I know for a FACT he did NOT hit her with a telephone.

    Well i Finally did it

be careful though, you might offend voodoo, lol. I actually met him at Soxfest this year, and that was part of the reason that I started checking out this board, instead of WSI. (although he probably doesn't even realize it) The other part being I respected Mario as a poster on the ESPN board, and he let me write a couple of articles for Soxnet before it went and got all big and famous Why do you say this? His exact words to me when I was introduced to him were "what is your ID on WSI?" I told him that I didn't have one and that I had been posting on ESPN. He said "then I don't have time for you" lol who cares? He is a loser with no job, no woman, no friends and no life. Wow Bmr.. I have to say I am a bit surprised at your reaction. That was definitely not something I'd ever expect to hear/see you post. I dont like voodoo. I think hes a pathetic moderator and a worse human being, but thats just my opinion. And that's your right. Just figured you as someone who wouldn't stoop there.
  20. See thats a problem. Any opinion which isnt kind, or politically correct, is frowned upon. So what if youre disappointed. I dont gay bash. I dont hate. I simply think its disgusting to think about what they do. Its unnatural. If you or anyone wants to bash me for that opinion, thats your problem. What the hell is the problem tonight? Did I bash you?? No I didn't. I didn't bash anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion absolutely. And it's my right to be disappointed, isn't it..?
  21. Lay off the scatalogical references, will ya, Steff. I don't care what he thinks; I care what he does, and so far he's been the best player on this team. Give me the "lazy" Jimenez over 8-Million-a-year perfectionist Bald Spot who is playing like utter crap. I'll take him on the field any day of the week as well. However, I don't see where that was the issue being debated. That comprehension thing acting up on you again..??

Oh, so Albert never smacked a woman with a phone? Does it matter if he was married or not? I couldn't give a flying s*** if he had a paper or not... No. He didn't.
  23. I'm not going to bother to reply to any of the homosexual s***.. I did however want to say that I am extremely disappointed in some of the replies I've read here tonight. Absolutely disgusting.. and I'm not referring to the screwing of fruit either. How many of you all watched American Pie and laughed your ass off when he was f'ing the pie?
  24. Lets see, I will give you the short version. Met this girl, fell in love. She was extremely jealous of my ex. We had problems, we broke up twice, but we always stayed best friends. Anways, for a 5 month period, 2 months of which we were together, she was seeing another guy. She waited until just recently, 7 months later, to tell me about it. The reason I am even considering taking her back, is we really love eachother. Yeah, like i said, its the dumbest thing ive ever done................. If it's meant to be, it will. And no, not all people who have cheated before do it again. Sometimes the loss of the relationship is enough to straighten people out. One of my dearest friend was cheated on. They split. It was bad. The ended up back together. 5 kids and 9 cheat free years later, they are the happiest couple I know.
