  1. Really? Weird! Sorry didn't mean to get everybody's hopes up--thought I had stumbled onto something.
  2. I just logged on and got two bleacher seats for opening day. Up until today, there was a note about only season-ticket holders being able to buy for Opening Day. Not there anymore. I bought like it was any other game.
  3. Brian Anderson sez r troops r dumb!
  4. You think they're dangling that over him?
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 10:49 AM) IIRC, that's faster than he was throwing at this point last spring. You recall correctly.
  6. Well wouldn't ya know it? Between yesterday and today, I finally decide to pull the trigger and my size has SOLD OUT! OOF. I was so pissed that I hunted all over the 'net--these things are not easy to find and forget Ebay--BUT did manage to get what I really wanted all along: The 1959 home jersey, #11. I literally got the last one in my size by ordering direct from the manufacturer. I guess all's well that ends well. Maybe the 1968 one next year.
  7. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) if last year is any indication, he needed another year of seasoning in the minors. Even if he doesn't make the team you gotta believe we'll see him at some point, what with the injury prone Pods and Erstad. I agree. He'll be ready one day; whether it's now or not is the debate. But there's no denying his natural talent. In the field, at least...
  8. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) 1968 is by far the best jersey from what you showed us. I agree. And with that: SOLD! I am getting the '68. Thanks for the input, guys!
  9. NO KIDDING! Please tell me where you were able to get that done! I have about three jerseys I'd like to do that to! Seriously, that would be awesome.
  10. From what I understand, as I tried to do this last year, it's no big deal to get a jersey numbered and lettered... with your own name. However, if you want a CURRENT player, they won't do it. You had to have bought the jersey that way--licensing and all that. I was bummed because I have a few blank ones to which I wanted to add a number/player's name but no can do. Unless somebody knows otherwise! Now if it's a past player, I'm not sure how that works.
  11. I'm with ya. I'm 95% sold on this one. Love the Illinois patch, too. Thanks for the feedback guys.
  12. I like it too. There was just too much damn pressure in 2006; I could feel it. I wouldn't mind staying "off the radar" this season, at least in the beginning.
  13. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) DJ: "good throw by Anderson, a little high" as it sails WAAAAAY over the catcher's head. NO KIDDING. That throw was basically into the stands were there not a net behind home plate. Ahhh... Hawk the Homer.
  14. Anderson got to second last inning on a wild pitch.
  15. How come the other teams wear ST uniforms but we wear our regular ones? Nice job Anderson!
  16. Yeah he does seem awfully rendundant, doesn't he?
  17. Thanks BearSox. BTW Hawk just said that Mack went 4-4 today and had two homers. Some "B" game this morning I guess.
  18. Do you mean in the sense that he'd be a starter anywhere else?
  19. Pardon my ignorance but who is Russell? One of our AAA guys? I'm out of it...
  20. Wow. It seems like it's been a couple of years at least since our starting lineup was such a tossup. Makes it kinda exciting, I have to say. I have no idea who's taking the field on Opening Day...
  21. You had me at "He can hit left-handers..."
  22. Oh I know YASNY I just like hearing all of your opinions since people here appreciate Sox gear. I'm leaning heavily towards the 1968 one at this point. I like 'em both, but the pinstripes always do it for me. I appreciate all the feedback, pro and con...
  23. GREAT Q&A. Thanks for posting!
  24. All right, what about this one? This is a 1968.
  25. As somebody who owns almost all the jerseys I have to agree that it's worth the money to get the authentic. In the end, think about it: so you spend another $100. But you'll be wearing this jersey for almost forever, so is it really that expensive? Yeah eventually the beer stains and ketchup will get onto that formerly pristine jersey (alas, my '06 WS A.J. jersey--it twas sooo white!) but if you're good with the Oxyclean you should be able to survive most spills. My most brutalized jersey--the one worn to those sweltering series in '05 here against Boston, the Cubs, Oakland... where you literally roasted in the sun for hours, still looks good even though there's some sweat stains that will never come out. Just remember: cold water only, NEVER tumble dry. MIne all still look really good.
