QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) bases juiced? I'm on gamecast, can anyone confirm? Yep, HBP.
-
Why couldn't the Twins do that s*** against us? Ours were always soft groundballs where the runner could beat it out.

QUOTE (SpringfieldFan @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) Ok, I gotta ask: which are more annoying - Twins fans or Cubs fans? SFF I haven't been to a Cubs game for a good 11 years or so, but I'd rather them than Twin fans, if only because I hate the Twins a lot more than the Cubs since they are our real rivals and games against them actually matter.

QUOTE (spataro51 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 09:00 AM) their is a reason he was picked in the 27th round back in 97. Basic grammar isn't hard :milkman

During this series, their fans also: - cheered an idiot that ran onto the field - threw a drink on the field at the security when the guy was caught - cheered the fan as he struggled off the field - did the wave at a crucial point of the second and third games The worse I got at the games was something about Aaron Rowand being retarded (as I was wearing a Rowand jersey). Some asshole 13-year old kid in front of me kept putting the Twin logo on his shirt toward me, which was incredibly annoying. I also had some kid on the bus walk up and stare at me for awhile, until his friend pulled him back. Had he continued to stare, I had a fist with his name on it. So yeah, I come from this series really disappointed in Twin fans. I'd also disliked them, but this series they seriously were classless. As a side note, I always hate when fans boo the opposing team for trying to pick someone off or calling time at the plate. It's really annoying and I find myself hating it more and more with every game I go to.

QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 10:23 PM) Didn't Jensen Lewis start this game? Must be another Lewis. Scott Lewis started, Jensen is their closer. -
WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?

QUOTE (Baines3 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) As for the topic of this thread, The German's didn't bomb Pearl Harbor. Japan did. NO WAI. IT WAS ZE GERMANS! -
I find it disgusting that we didn't start our best pitcher in the biggest series of the year.

QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) Is it really that hard to make the check swing call? It's gotta be one of the most inconsistent calls in the game with the home team having way too much advantage. I could plainly see that he didn't go around from the upper deck. I don't know how the third base ump missed it from 90 feet away.

QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) I'm surrounded by Cub fans right now, I don't know what to do with myself. Poor f***ing you. I'd rather that than having to go to all three of these games and having to wait for the f***ing bus after each of these pathetic losses. Let me just say that Twin fans are f***ing classless and that I was a half second away from punching a few of those cocksuckers near the end of that f***ing thing.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) I'm going to the game, so I kind of have to watch it......and put up with the Twins fans. Where are your seats? I'll be the guy in the second level behind home plate standing up applauding AJ when he comes up.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) I hate to bring up the injury topic again but I'd be willing to bet we wouldn't be in this situation with a healthy Quinten and a healthy Crede. Uribe has done a good job as a replacement for Crede but no one can replace Quinten's production this year. That being said we don't have those two and won't have them tonight. I want Dye to play but it'd be ok with me if he doesn't. He's been in an enormous slump right now. If we want to win tonight, we can't be looking for the long ball, it needs to be base hit after base hit in order to win. I can't belive I'm saying this but I hope Swisher is in the line up tonight. Who is Quinten? I know Carlos Quentin is a MVP candidate, but I've never heard of this 'Quinten' fellow.

Every time AJ comes up I stand up and applaud. I get told to sit down, but I usually say something along the lines of "Thank him for Nathan, Liriano and Boof"

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) What run did Griffey cost us tonight? I don't know if I'd fully put it on him, but he was basically forced to play really deep all night, which led the rally in the second. I can't fully blame him for it, but just a hunch.
-
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws Oh well. It was a fun season guys, but if we aren't going to try to stay competitive we shouldn't be trying to lose. If Griffey proves me wrong and plays more like tonight (where he didn't cost us all 3 runs, only 1, good for him!) great. I just don't think he can and the fact that we still haven't made a change is kind of disgusting. (Sorry if this was posted in the post-game thread, but I didn't want to sift through that whole thread)

QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Stop going to the games, you're bad luck. edit: dunno if this should be in green or not Screw that, I never get to see the Sox in person. There's no way I'm missing them while they're in town for the biggest series I've ever seen in person. It's like a playoff game. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) What have the first 2 been like in person? Are the fans mocking us? It seems we've given their fans absolutely no reason this season to think we'll ever beat them in that dome. I'd think it's a big party in the dome. We come in there and we're the guests who let the hosts put on quite a party. Honestly, painful. The fans aren't terrible, but waiting for the bus the past two days has sucked. Tonight was student night, so everyone was wasted and just annoying ("Nice jersey, retard"). I've been in a section with mostly old people, and haven't really talked to them, but there have been a few good guys (other than one guy that kept looking at me throughout the night while I was talking to my roommate).

I'll be there, so yes, I'll be watching.

I hate Ozzie Guillen, making me sit through watching Griffey in CF for a second straight night. If this happens again on Thursday nights game, we deserve to lose the division.
-
QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:10 PM) It's really too bad Ozzie doesn't come here and listen to soxtalk members and start the wonder that is Brian Anderson. We would have clinched before the All-Star break. No one is claiming that Brian Anderson is a man-god. We're only saying that Griffey is so bad both offensively and defensively that the difference between the two is non-existent, which means we should be starting the man that actually knows how to catch fly balls.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:42 AM) There wasnt that many people at the game, that place was half empty. 35k was the total. I'd say that was about right, I wouldn't really call it empty. It's going to be a lot fuller and louder tonight though, as it's student night (and dollar dog day!).

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD ohhhhh nooooooeeeeessss. About 75% of this board should just stop watching/reading/listening to the sox until friday. Save yourselves the grief. This team isn't dead, but that doesn't mean we can't be concerned about the teams chances when the manager continues to trot out a terrible defense day in and out.

Funny what happens when you put a 90 year old man in CF.
