  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 28, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) I'll take Ryan Church of their hands instead. Gimme one of Corey Hart, Church or Chris Deniforia. I'd love Church.. he'd be a damn good replacement for Anderson if he were to be sent down. That being said, I'd rather see Anderson stay up for his defensive value alone.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 28, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) LOL You don't agree? Jenks has had a history of arm issues, and along with his weight and velocity, he's not the safest bet to stay healthy for 10 years etc.

QUOTE(MattZakrowski @ May 28, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) He hasn't looked that bad when I've seen him Have you watched a game where he played outfield this year?

Patterson is not the answer to any future problems, or current problems. Giving up any of our pitching prospects would be too much for him, let alone giving up near-MLB ready ones like Haeger. And no, the OF of the future will have Ryan Sweeney in RF, not Corey Patterson.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 28, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Sure. Roger Clemens last year? 13 wins while posting a 1.87 ERA. He was better than any other pitcher in the NL, yet only had 13 wins. And I really hate Clemens, but its true.
  6. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 28, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) I'd do Bmac, Rogo, and Uribe for Tejada and a little cash. Why would you trade our best reliever (Yes, screw Jenks, BMac is better and more reliable in terms of injuries) and the pitcher with best potential out of our youth pitchers for more offense? Our offense is getting the job done right now.. our pitching is not. BMac goes anywhere in any deal, although there are a few players I would accept in a deal with BMac, and something is wrong. You don't trade people like him.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 27, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) Felix, you know I'm one of the people here who really couldn't care less about the Cubs but it can definitely be argued that Barrett deserved more than 10 games. 10 is what I thought he'd get and I have no problem with it but sucker punching someone is completely different compared to charging the mound and starting a brawl. I really don't have a big beef with any of this because AJ didn't get suspended but it is definitely laughable that he gets fined for playing baseball. I don't think it can be argued logically at all if you look at the MLB's past with suspensions for these sorts of things. If you don't look at that, sure, it can be argued. And AJ probably got fined for what he did afterwards, not what he did in the game itself. That doesn't make it right, but playing baseball wasn't what got him fined I don't think.
  8. Holy crap Cuck the Fubs hasn't posted yet!
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:48 AM) recently he did the drum tracks for Nine Inch Nails "With Teeth" and he has done the last two albums for Queens of the StoneAge as well. Dave Grohl keeps very busy, thats for sure Queens of the Stone Age.. thats the other band that I knew he played with. Didn't know that he did the drums for Nine Inch Nails though.. one wonders where he gets time for all of this
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 25, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) I like Dave Grohl, (even though bmags will probably tell you it's cool to say you hate him. ) he's one of those guys who just seems to live and exude rock n roll. I also think he's a kick as drummer and a decent vocalist/song writer. David Grohl! I respect the hell out of his drumming, he's pretty damned good. Not really a fan of his vocalist/song writing stuff, but he was great with Nirvana on the drums (and various other bands; I think he played the drums for Probot, Tenacious D on a few songs, and some others) QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 27, 2006 -> 05:53 AM) Van Morrison is the MAN. As you were. This is very true
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) I really do love me some Mike Gonzalez though, oh what I would give to see him in the Sox' pen this year. The guy is a lefty and just makes hitters look absolutely silly. We need to pry him away from the lowly Pirates before another contender does. Career 2.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, .209 BAA | 2.21 ERA this year as well. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'd love to see him in a Sox uniform
  12. I was looking for this thread a little while back. Nice to see it back Nice new sig as well Speaking of which.. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 06:38 AM) Roy Halladay: Where did you get the high resolution headshots?
  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Stop changing pitchers every at bat you b****es. God thats annoying!! Yea, how DARE they try to win the game!
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Why are we talking about Thome? Except Thome isn't prone, and his contract isn't as large as the one Griffey has (which goes on past retirement IIRC) QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) i know hes my favorite of all time though that would do it. i hate him
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) id take him in a millisecond Do you realize how large his contract is, and how prone to injuries he is?
  16. QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Your vaunted pitching staff is being lit up like a Christmas tree when you play real teams rather than feast off non-contenders with the #30 ranked schedule in the majors. BTW, Tigers up 7-2 over the Tribe. 2.5 GB for you after tonight. Sorry, I can't read that, the light is reflecting right into my eyes off of the World Series rings that the Sox have.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) I thought tigerfan was giving up updates??? He is: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...5entry1149232
  18. Well, I'm nearly done watching this game. I need to pack anyway, going to my brothers for the weekend
  19. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 26, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) Barrett should've got 20. Why? Because he's on a the Cubs? Players don't get 20 games for starting brawls on the field. It just doesn't happen. 10 games is rather long for this sort of thing, so suggesting that he should have gotten more is just ridiculous.
  20. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) LOL, I got banned for keeping it real. Isn't there anything you guys can do about it to set them straight? I mean, if you made a thread about it and got banned, it doesn't look like they care that they steal posts word for word from here, but I gotta think there's something you can do.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 26, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) The CFer of the future is already in Chicago, so getting a leadoff hitter who plays CF would be pretty much pointless. I know you hate Anderson, but I'm not sure why. He's a friggin rookie...he's going to struggle with the bat. I would bet that 3 years from now, you are going to be happy the Sox didn't give up on Anderson after 2 months. Hell, Rowand hit .140 before the Sox sent him down in 2003. He turned into the key piece of a World Championship caliber team, and the key piece of a deal that netted the Sox one of the best power hitters of this generation. So yeah, waiting instead of jumping to conclusions would probably be better. Don't you understand? Sweeney would hit .330/.400/.500 if he were called up today. Good prospects don't go through a transition period! It's a "Jump to Conclusions mat". You see, you have this mat, with different conclusions written on it that you could jump to. Oh, and not to mention that Sweeney has yet to find his power stroke... again. He's not ready for the majors, and probably won't be until '08 or so.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) Ozzie will infact be managing from 3rd base the next 2 games. This should be good. I have a feeling he's going to be tossed from those two games
