Seems that the bullpen is capable of getting guys out. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Look at the scoreboard. That's all I need for support. I'm watching this game and I expect more from this team. It's been a bad game for the Sox and that last play with Mack proves it. Congrats to the Stros for taking advantage. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) I just realized G&T is Hawk. Reds fans were thinking the same thing last Sunday. ...and I realized you're Jay Mariotti. Since you provide nothing to support your stance that the Sox are getting their ass beat, besides calling me a homer, I really don't see the point of continuing this argument. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Well you just sound like a homer. Give credit where credit is due. They have 5 runs on 8 hits and we have 1 run on 2 hits. They are beating our ass. I've seen nothing hit hard, and I've seen Crede miss plays that he normally makes, even if they are difficult for most 3rd basemen. Meanwhile, the Astros are doing all the right things to get guys around. Meanwhile the offense looks terrible. For that I give credit to the pitcher. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) if we're "beating ourselves" with poor pitching, then we didn't beat the cardinals either of the first two games, they "beat themselves" :rolly Garland has gone deep into counts and has been unable to put guys away. The Cardinals couldn't get deep into counts because the Sox hit everything hard. Garland has walked 5 and the Cardinals hardly walked anyone. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Actually the Astros are beating our ass. We are not beating ourselves. No, they are taking advantage of the Sox mistakes. I've seen poor defense and bad pitching and the Stros taking advantage. -

This is a classic beating ourselves type game. -

It's not like the Astros are hitting hard line drives. Garland can't locate, he's walked 5 and they just get grounders in the hole and score runs. -

Garland finally starts getting ground balls and suddenly the defense dissapears. 77 pitches and not even out of the 4th... -
Hawk always says Garland too, but since Anderson actually has to use it all the time, I vote for him. Just watching Mack not be able to catch a ball over his head, I really miss Anderson.
-
I was at the Cell when the score came in and I said the same thing. I've really come to hate the Cardinals over the last week.

St. Louis Conspiracy Theory...Sox knew what pitches were coming

It was probably Hawk making signals from the booth. -
I'm happy that I didn't jinx Thome when I took him as my PTC. Awesome win.

Isn't this what bench coaches are for?

Schuster is mentioning to Boers and Bernstein.

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) I think we just got lucky and faced to guys pitching like trash. If the shelling continues tonight against Reyes then maybe there is something to it. That and the entire sox line up has been seeing the ball well. Well Mulder has been up and down all year, but he knows how to get people out generally. Marquis had been pitching well recently until he ran into the Sox.

It's nice to see this site so active, too bad it's for these reasons.

Noble effort. However, the only effect this will have is too bring more publicity to him. We actually have to IGNORE him in order to make him go away. I doubt that will ever happen.

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) The cards announcers kept bringing this column up yesterday.....they seemed to be pretty annoyed.....then we scored 13 runs...... Well reality can't be painful I guess.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) Okay am I the only one floored by how we're shellacking the best (arguably) team in the NL? For all the hype leading up to this, it's like we're playing a AAA club. I would have NEVER guessed this to be the case. Any explanation for this? It's just, well... surreal... Well, the NL blows and their pitching is bad. I think it was Morrissey that wrote about this yesterday. Pitchers that can't make it in the AL end up in the weak NL these days and look decent, but after this interleague stuff, there is no question how much better the AL is. I'd like to point out that even the Royals have a 3 game winning streak. Yes they are playing the Pirates right now, but it shows that the Royals might be respectably bad in the NL, rather than a laughing stock.

Murph just brought up this topic on the Score...wonder where he got it from...
