Pitching is more important than hitting and Anderson is a better defensive player, and possibly offensive one day, than Rowand. Stop this crap.

This is the best the team has played this year, and awesome to see. I'm one of those who had little faith in Garland, especially against a team that can hit like the Reds. Congrats on an awesome day for him and to the Sox. For once I wish the Cubs didn't suck so much, but the Tigers can't play crappy teams forever.

I'd rather him get to 20 straight wins, personally. He has the stuff to get 20 K's, but he strikes guys out swinging for the most part. That means it will take more pitches to get guys fishing.

Nice bunt.

Finally, at least Freddy could hold the four run lead for one inning. Sorta

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) They need to deal sweeney, Elarton, Sanders, Graff, Mink, Redman, and pick up some prospects for them. Someone will be willing to pick up these guys at the deadline. I don't know if Sweeney is even useful anymore. The problem for the Royals is that they don't get the right prospects. Nothing they get ever seems to pan out. It might seem obvious to trade guys, but the key is that this time they have to get the right prospects.

OFFICIAL GO CUBBIES THIS WEEKEND THREAD!!!
G&T replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
The Cubs aren't going to help out any. Gonna need a sweep in Cincy. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) Well Pablo is faster, a better contact hitter and a better base runner in general but we are also 7-9 when he starts so he must be using his crazy ass voodoo against us somehow. I'm torn. There's definitely been some bad defense by Ozuna. But it seems like they are winning more recently with Pablo playing.

Dye's stats could just be the result of hitting fifth. Why change it?

Farmer says Tracey was told to hit someone and didn't do it which is why he was yelled at, but not why he was sent down. It was embarrassing to do it in front of everyone but Farmer has been in that position before. Ozzie may have talked to him later to settle Tracey down, but it was just to send a message. Farmer has not talked to Ozzie however. Does not know why Javy didn't hit anyone since it would not have resulted in a suspension. Should have been handled last night, and tonight is too late. Doesn't believe that this team will be intimidated. Doesn't know why Padilla was throwing at AJ.

I've put in 50 and I'll probably throw in some more.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:15 PM) I do, i see him HE GONE in a month or two. Ozzie and KW are very big on team first. Well it's not like he didn't try to hit him, he just happened to miss. Personally I don't know if Tracey was ever going to make it in the big leagues, but if this totally ruins his chances with the White Sox then I think that's "total BS." I also think it was unfair to put him in that situation. Having said all that, you are probably right.
-
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:23 AM) I think we have broken down this topic enough, lets just go out and pummel them on field and show them up...ozzie style Agreed. I would have been satisfied with Javy not giving up a ton of runs and winning yesterday rather than hitting someone.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:12 AM) I don't know if anyone was sure enough at that point that it was intentional. Vaz said he "knew", but I don't buy it. Many may have suspected it, but you couldn't know in that situation - AJ's first at bat, he hadn't done anything particular to the Rangers or to the idiot pitcher... not much apparent motive there. Farmer knew right off the bat but didn't know why he would do it. I imagine the bench knew what was going on.
-
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) I understand what Oz was trying to do...but c'mon man...I think Guillen's agitation with Tracey was a bit overboard. Way overboard. Vasquez should have done it. It's not the job of a rookie to do that, IMO.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Maybe he was pissed cause they didn't have the cell's there yet.. Well if it was a wireless, he could have thrown the phone at Padilla himself.
-
QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Did anyone else get the notion that he pulled Tracey for not hitting that guy? Yes, but there was also that exchange on the bullpen phone where Guillen was yelling into the phone then appeared to slam it. I can already hear a Guillen tyraid.
-
It's not sacreligious, it's just stupid. Why would you want to be seen in that hat?
-
Well the stats are so obviously against Garland that it has to turn the opposite. The Reverse Lock, so to speak. I'm talking outta my ass here, I'm just trying to stay positive.
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) If we get to the playoffs he'll start game 1 but Mark will start opening day again next year. It really makes no difference at all where they are slotted in the rotation. Agreed, but it would be awesome to see him against Santana or Sabathia.

This one's got the makings of a barn burner. Hope the Sox can come out on top.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 07:30 AM) I hope thats a joke. I always watch ESPN over Comcast when the Sox are on. ESPNHD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Comcast HD ...So you don't notice what they do to show off the advertisement? Yes the picture is brighter, until they highlight the advertisement. Maybe they don't do it in HD, because I don't have HD.

QUOTE(Damen @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) Those early season losses to the Royals and Rays hurt, but, its a little early to say our chances of gaining the lead are "almost nothing", no? We're 1 game back. Sooner or later Verlander will get hijacked and murdered driving down 8 mile, and all will be right with the world. I think he meant in the next three games.
