I could turn out to be totally wrong - I hope I am - but I think Edwin Jackson is going to get hammered at The Cell, and that Hudson is a better pitcher right now than he is (not to mention cheaper). So, if this is it - no bat acquired, just Jackson - color me very disappointed.

Kila would be perfect, but I've seen information that KC said he's unavailable. At least he was a month or two ago. And yeah, he's blocked by Butler, but I'm frankly surprised that the Royals haven't either found a way to add him to the roster (him and Butler at 1B and DH would work), or traded him for his value. Seems weird to not do one or the other at this point.

He told us that Alexi could be one of the better shortstops in the game and you know what, he was right! I wanted Beckham back at short, but this is why he's a winning manager and i'm just a Sox fan posting silly comments. Don't forget, he got us something we hadn't had in 88 years... A world series ring! At the end of the day.. sure they both can become such drama queens, but I honestly think they deserve tons of credit for trying to put a competitve team together year in and year out. We just don't have the mega-payroll like other big market teams. I hope they stay a long while! Welcome to the board!

But the PERCEIVED increase in crime is the fact that so much more of it is being reported in the MEDIA now, than we saw previously. Hell, the Trib, who ran the article I quoted, is a major contributor to that change, with their constant breaking news band on their site focusing on crime. And by the way, I think that's a good thing - this is exposing us to the reality that was always there, but that we didn't really understand. There is a lot of crime.

Shirek back from 2nd DL trip, had one bad and one mediocre outing, and now has been promoted to AAA Charlotte.

And the enforcement aspect is also something to consider, I think the auditing and exposure of monies, gifts, and legislation needs to be more carefully monitored. And preventing Congress from ever giving projects or monies to specific corporations for project work would go a long way - Congress should only ask for projects to be funded, then leave it to the departments and agencies to follow their own bidding and processes.
