  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) Though I have heard that it doesn't have the same music. It does NOT.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) What did you guys expect..? The only reason tickets were sold at all is because some ST holders declined their tickets. Incorrect, but ok.
  3. well, that was a bigger joke than White Sox playoff tickets, what did they have available 25 tickets?? On sale: 10:00am Sold OUT: 10:00:15am
  4. QUOTE(Bhay99 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) are these DVDs going to have all the playoff games on them? and who is releasing them? can anyone give me a link? To answer your questions: NO, the dvd box set will not have every game in its entirey, though it is proable that it WILL have every WS game in its entirety. A&E will be releasing the boxset under MLB productions. Someone posted a link in another thread from Amazon, I couldnt find the thread or on amazon, but I believe it comes out in late March/April??
  5. It sure as hell feels good to be king. Maybe its just me, but I almost feel like a Yankee fan this offeseason. It seems like we are celebrating another trade or re-signing every week. Excellent move. DYNASTY
  6. great thread... Orton gets no credit becuase of the media and fans that think we have Joe MOntana coming off the bench. Look at this team last year with Krenzel and Quinn, same defense, but did they win any games?? The Bears stand today as division winers in largepart to the way Orton handled the offense and did not hand over games to the opposing team. Sexy Rexy on the other hand, will choke in out firsty playoff game. In 6 quarters he already has 3 pics and was a stellar 11-23 against one of the worst defense's in the league. Hope they gets his wing in Canton done soon. to Grossman, the most overrated Chicagoan since Kerry Wood
  7. people can say what they will about him, I still think this is the best article that I read on the Sox 2005 historic run.... http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?...=jackson/051019
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) I'll probably be crucified for this, but considering the era that Santo played in, I think his numbers merit HOF status. I wish he would get in already so he and the rest of the cubbie caredom would stop bitcing and moaning about how they are getting hosed. Maybe if they make "This Old Cub 2: Seriously folks, I want in"
  9. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) That Twins lineup still doesn't scare me.But they still give us problems....... "they" meaning Johan.
  10. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 07:27 PM) Where did everyone get their bats from? http://www.igottohavethat.com/ these are the best ones out there, the world series black bat has been sold-out for awhile though. As for plastic cases or holders, I'd check a local sportscard store.
  11. Wow, that kinda is a mess..... Some of those players won't even get a carry. I'd go with Gore and Bell based off potential for big games. If they are available in your league, take a look at Houston, Martin's backup for the Jets or Turner for the Charge.
  12. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Buy a Gaming Computer..blows all those console game out of the water. ***used to blow all consoles out of the water. I'll take Call of Duty 2 on 360 any day over the PC.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Podsednik was more than inefficient after the All-Star break. He probably hurt the team attempting to steal more than he helped (15 SB, 14 CS). Hopefully, he will be 100% healthy and back to stealing bases the way he did before the All Star break last season (44 SB, 9 CS). During those 29 sb attemps after the all-star game, I wonder just how many fastballs Iguchi got?? Just watching game 3 of the ALDS last night again, Wakefield hit Pods to lead off the game...and he threw over to first base 5 times. Granted the success ratio was not as good, but to say that he hurt the team is ignorance. This team wasted plenty of outs with stupid baserunning errors or Cora giving the wave, if Pods was thrown out at 2nd, at least I know the opposing pitcher wasted throws and his count to get that out. Its unbelievable the amount of repsect and attention he gets from opposing pitchers....
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Should have stopped running and stop wasting outs. Everyone in the world but jphat wanted him to stop running and realized he was terrible at it the last two months of the season. It is mostly useless to steal bases and expecially when you go in a streak of getting caught 16 out of 20 times... was something redirkulous like that. I hear you loud and clear, and where I will agree with most of the post, I will say this... even though Pods was not as efficient when he came back from the DL, the opposing pitchers still had to think about him before worrying about Iguchi at the plate. If he stopped running all together, the risk factor is not there and Iguchi gets less favorable pitches. Towards the playoffs, Pods was beginning to gain momentum back and get his timing right, we also have to take into consideration that the rest of the league was catching up with him at the same time. Point being, Pods was effective and still produced runs even though it was not up to the level that we had come to expect.
  15. Nice to hear the confirmation that he will indeed be in the house for Soxfest as well.... and as that statement is learned, people are starting to line up at the Hyatt Regency as we speak. Also, big ups to Nicholas for making Paulie's decision all that much easier.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) :puke 360 is the worse new system coming out... save your money and wait for the ps3. speak for yourself, with 360 I got a better system for over $100 less, and a year early to boot. By the time PS3 even sees a shelf, 360 will have over 75 games. This system has turned friends back into games that havent touched anything since Mario Kart. PS3 has more than its work cut-out for them. As for MVP NCAA Baseball on 360, I wouldnt count on it, but I wouldnt dismiss it either, it seems like EA is making a strong push to upgrade their sports game through 360, a significant change from modeling their games and graphics based on the PS2 engine as theyve always done in the past.
  17. QUOTE(GreenSox @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Willie's better than Osuna. U really think so?? I see no comparison, granted, Pablo makes some dumb baserunnig errors, but I really see some good potential in him and you dont lose much speed either
  18. According to ESPN 1000, Deng is out. Okafor, Rush, and Ely are all out for the Bobcats. This SHOULD be a rout. Hopefully they won't have to fight back from 27 down like opening night.
  19. Good thing Gammons never got his ultimate wish to get the White Sox contracted otherwise he wouldnt be able to rely on his "great writing skills" for such an article. What a joke. Perhaps the biggest homer in sports media, yes ever bigger than Dukie V.
  20. Looks like the Red Sox box set has 1 game per dvd. Their boxset is 12 dvds, has every game of the ALCS (7) and World Series (4) the 12th dvd is a bonus dvd with locker room and parade footage. With the White Sox box set at 7 dvds, it looks like we'll get every World Series game (4), they'll probably use 1 of the remaining dvds for bonus features with locker room and parade footage, that leaves us with 2 left. Clinching game against Boston and Anahiem?? That would be my bet.....
  21. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) If its 7 discs, it has to be every game. You can fit 2 games per DVD, if not more. I can't wait. No way could they fit 12 games onto 7 dvds... especially considering one of the games was basically two. I highly doubt they will have all full games in their entirety besides the World Series games and perhaps Game 5 of the ALCS. The tile of the box set is "White Sox World Series" not "Playoffs"
  22. QUOTE(spiffalicious @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) I received my ALCS bat about 6 weeks ago and it's number 191...I never got around to ordering the world series bat. I guess we were the only ones....I'm glad I invested in them though, the WS bat sold-out pretty quick, and they look great side by side on the wall.
  23. Got the ALCS bats a few weeks back, the World Series bats came yesterday. Very sweet. There is a little dulling that occured from the shipping with some faint black marks inside some of the logos and signatures, but the note that cmae with them says that is normal and states how to treat them. Everybody else get theirs??? What kind of numbers did you get?? Our bats were in the low 3000's
  24. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) They may not have cheaped out. Isn't Pirates a Disney property? Disney is kind of territorial about their releases and may have had a problem with licensing the music for a DVD release of anything. I don't know if that is what happened, I'm just throwing out a possibility that maybe the Sox tried to license the music and were rebuffed. I'm more than willing to bet that this is the case.... What is Disney, STAYS Disney. Eisner is a greedy clown. They did what they could in replacing the Pirates soundtrack its similar but def not the same, and no doubt Thunderstruck still sounds great in there.
