QUOTE(ChisoxJones @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) I am going to pick up MLB- The Show this week (who is this ortiz guy on the cover? )........ That game looks like ps1 graphics, not that I blame them...theyve never put out a decent baseball game.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) Don't forget Graffy. and Matt Clement, I give that guy so much credit. He sparked the whole damn thing off. Seriously though, anyone see that Paulie interview on Comcast last night?? He said the only game he was nervous in for the entire playoffs was game 1 against Boston and how crucial it was to get off to a good start against that type of team. THe second Pods got on 1st, the floodgates opened for Clement and the rest is

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) What in here is ripping on the team. see WS dvd. "All of my friends always said that I'd have to get outta here if I ever wanted to win a ring, and I am glad that I decided to stay here to win a championship." I lost all respect for him as a player the second I heard that.... on the WS dvd no less. Good riddance should be classified as an understatement coming from KW. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) I understand that. But Kenny got personal. Nobody had to know about Jerry loaning him money. It wasn't his place to say "my players and "my staff" are glad Frank is gone. Who the hell is he to speak for those guys? Again, this was well known for the last couple years, hell, Bruce Levine made fun of the fact. Kenny brought it to everyone's attention again in the heat of the moment..... There really is nothign to argue here, Frank dug his own grave is White Sox history. He is the best player in Sox history much like Sosa is the best player in Cubs history. Will fans celebrate him for decades down the road?? nfortanately for Frank, the negatives will always outweigh the positives. How can an organization respect him (which they did), if he didnt respect his job?? -

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) And... how is that any of the rest of the world's business..? Bruce Levine reported this the last time Frank was b****ing about contract extensions from us. Anytime he moaned, it was because of the incentives in his deal and the fact that he wasnt getting paid up front. I guess not "new" news, but Kenny def brought the memory back fresh into everyone's minds. I completely agree that its not the public's business to know such transactions and stability, but so is baseball as a business. Coming from Kenny's side, you have to establish the creditability to other players, teams and fans that the organization actually went well beyond the boundries for Frank, even though he insisted that the White Sox did nothing for him or his career. With Frank it has always been what have you done for me lately, except without giving anything back in return. With Frank's answers today, it seems like KW's comments finally struck a chord with Hurt on how out of place he was for making such outrageous and selfish comments. He should listen to himself on the WS dvd, "everyone told me to get a ring I would have to get outta here..... I'm glad I stayed and won one here." Blah Blah Blah.... The one star player in the 90s not to use steroids and he still found a way to turn everyone against him. Surprised, no. A shame?? Absolutely. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) and this from a kansas fan. Hey, I speak the truth.... It was the finest college basketball game that Ive ever witnessed. Illinois should have the trophy right now if they didnt die by the 3 so badly in the title game. Besides May, Illinois had the talent and should have won that game. Ive never been so jacked in March in my life, and that even after a first round loss to Bucknell. Just because Bill Self is the Kansas head coach, and Illini faithful love to hate them, doesnt mean I have to hate Illinois. I am actually very fond of their program and future. This March may be a little shaky for them, but I really appreciate the way theyve re-built their program into a potenital perrinal powerhouse. Theyve come a long way from their 'bruising ball' with Lucas Johnson. Things have worked out fairly well for the Illini faithful considering nothing can be taken for grnated in college hoops over this past decade. Self made the table, Weber has done a fine job in serving the meal thus far. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) I actually root for the Illini and for the most part all big 10 teams, especially come tourney time. I remember going nuts during that run against AZ. Definately the best comeback and one of the funnest college basketball games in my lifetime. I do hate Indiana though. Best sporting event that Ive ever been to that was not the World Series. Absolutely Amazing night... I'll always refer to this game as the Deron Williams game. My head scaved the Allstate Arena roof when that game was over (not kidding, we had the top row) Meeting Bill Murray and overall just basking in the glory of a Final Four birth was nothing short of incredible to witness. If this march sees a game half as good as that was, we'll be in for a real treat. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 11:54 AM) I found a game worn road black Baj at Soxfest for $75. I couldn't pass that one up. thats a steal.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Dale Torborg is the son of ex-manager Jeff Torborg. He was also a wrestler known as the Demon in the now defunct WCW. He was supposed to be a KISS wrestler or something. He is currently the Sox strength and conditioning coach. no s***, you really do learn something new every day. Looks liek a horrible rip-off of Legion of Doom or Demolition. LOl

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) actually it is probably happening next year. this is from mark tupper's web log on feb. 2: blog link and for the record, weber has said throughout his tenure at illinois that they would schedule southern as soon as the players he recruited were off the roster. that would be next year. and when the pigs fly, will they be wearing capes? I'm not saying this doesnt happen because Illinois wont do it, an annual game would be great for the state and benefit both schools for recruiting. I don't understand why a school would fear a loss before a game is potentially scheduled... -

Everyone needs to jump on board and pick up bleacher tickets for the first game against the Philles. Want to make sure Row Row gets the homecoming he deserves. If we can get the bleachers packed with Sox fans for that game, that would be priceless. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) Yay http://www.southernillinoisian.com/article...ts/10004880.txt This is just fantastic news as it's been almost impossible to get a bcs school to schedule a home and home against us, for obvious reasons. I give the Hooisers credit...that will be a tough game indeed. The Illini should play them every year, but that will happen when pigs fly. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) Inside? Anyone could do that. The point is, nobody else does. The day of the game the wait is outside for the entire day. Duke fans wait outside in tents for a couple of days to get tickets for a game, nowhere else in the country besides Kansas will you see students waiting for 3 days up to week to get a prime seat for a game. You can do it in groups with one person there, but anyone can take attendance at any time and if nobody is there to report for your group, no matter how long youve been there, you lose your spot. -

QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) The main reason I'll be leaving krush this year is because the whole "waiting outside for 3 hours before games if you want floor seats" scene gets old. -Yes i know i could avoid that by donating more money, but.......that's not going to happen. waiting outside for 3 hours beforer a game?? Chit, at Kansas we had to sometimes wait a week in Allen Fieldhouse from 8am-11pm to assure a spot in line. Not for a ticket, for a seat. -

QUOTE(Damen @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) He should have last year. Anyone remember what his record was in June, when his ERA was around 1.something, but he only got a couple wins out of it due to our sputtering offense? Early on he was lights out, as well as Jon. Burls had the Cy Young in his back pocket last year, but as the team faded so did he in many different ways. We saw him give up more walks, and stuff like the bomb that Boone hit on a 0-2 count in the Rally Crede game. Obviously he was lights out in the playoffs, and we all know what he is capable of. I truly believe that he is entering the prime of his career as well, and he will learn from his 2nd half last year. The #1 guy on the best staff in the country is big shoes to fill, and I'll take my chances with argubly the most consistent pitcher in the AL. Screw Santana. -
Heading down on March 21-26, going to one Sox game, one Scrubs game, then driving up to Vegas for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. Should be a great week indeed.
-
Ok, so last week I tivo'd a few of the Comcast replays from the season and I plan to make a dvd of the "Rally Crede" game, but would love to make some great coverart for the sleeve. Do any of the resdient artists have any experience with these or want to attempt to make one?? I'd certainly hook it up with a dvd. Much appreciated... thanks

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) When Doug Gottlieb is talking, i'm more concerned with checking my wallet to make sure my credit cards are there than listening to what he's saying. yeah, what is the big deal with him lately, seems like he is popping up all over the ESPN circut. He sat in for Dan Patrick a few days ago on the radio, and this morning sat in for Woody Paige on Cold Pizza. If I have to hear about his career in Europe one more time, I swear that egotistical ass clown can shove it. I really don't see what ESPN sees in this guy, he wasn't even a good player, let alone host/insider. -
I'm confused.... maybe becuase this isw all on during the day when I can't pay much attention. But I was under the impression that U.S. play Russia today to move on to the medal round, but since Kazakhstan won does that automatically clinch a birth in the medal round for U.S.?? Now we play Finland tomorrow?? Someone plaease fill this dumbass in..... all I know is the Fins havent lost.

Sox DVD Post Season Set Now Available

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 09:53 AM) That's actually a recent change. All the original pictures of the cover showed Game 2 of the ALCS with the score 2-1. Now on the MLB site it has the angle picture that clearly shows Game 5. pictures are one thing, but it was always in the description for the dvd set that Game 5 of the ALCS was to be included, not Game 2. Not that we can search up the old thread, but evr since the set was scheduled for release Game 5 was included. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) Well how about that for a bet. KU loses to Texas, i will not speak a word of Kansas for a week. KU wins, heads will not discuss ISU for a week. Thanks for the compliment though. No worries, if we should lose... I'll be more than happy to pick up the slack. By then, it will be 12 in a row, and the sweetest Big XII title weve ever witnessed. -
QUOTE(GarlandFan20 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) Lance Broadway! I wonder why Cooper has 2 pairs of glasses on... looks like the shades that are on his hat are burls, if you look at some of the earlier pics, the glasses look very similar. Probably just holding them while they were doing these stop, drop, and roll drills. The picture of Jenks sliding is priceless. I'd like to see the look on the groundskeeper's face that has to replace that divot.
