  1. Looks like the same map of the % of the people that were rooting for the Astros in the series. Can't always get what u want I suppose....
  2. I grabbed this from a fellow Sox fan over on my dmb message boards and trading sites and I thought I'd share with all of you.... he's working on changing Ozzie with the WS hardware and obviously changing the title. http://tinypic.com/fadkoy.jpg
  3. the difference is we are now considered "premier" on other teams schedules.....
  4. I know its much to early to worry about any part of the schedule, but I just took a better look at the dates, and it looks like this years August will be next years September. Not pretty at all.... West Coast trip comes late, tough road games all month. Gotta love finsishing off the season with 3 @ Cleveland and then 3 @ Twinkies. It will be nice to clinch there again.
  5. Me thinks I will be heading to PNC Park next year to watch the World Champs kick the living crap out of the Bucs. Its November and I'm thinking about next baseball seaosn already... I can really get used to this championship euphoria thing.
  6. got it from another board..... but thanks for offering it up hell even a dave matthews band board put it up within an hour after asking. They love the Sox and are pod heads too.
  7. Letterman's people called the Sox after they beat the Red Sox and told them that they believed that they would win the series (probably did this with every team) and booked 10 players for Nov 4th taping. Now that the time hs arrived, schedules changed and Letterman is dark all week with re-runs and wont be returning with new shows until next week, November 7th. Letterman did in fact cancel with the White Sox because by then the WS victory will be almost 2 weeks ago, and "old news" what a difference 3 days make They reported on ESPN radio that the Leno cancellation just happened because they didnt want them on anymore, nothing about Ozzie not being able to make it.
  8. I'd say game 2 of the ALCS as well.... Then again, I went to all the playoff games at the Cell expcept for Game 2 of the WS. But Game 2 against the Halos, that was as close as we got to a must win all year and winning it in that fashion, when everybody in the park didnt even know what the hell happened or the uproar over AJ's drop third. Pure euphoria on 35th that night..... I'd also give an honorable mention to Game 1 of the ALDS, when we kicked the living s*** out of the Red Sox, if it wanst enough for Soxdiehards to be happy to see their team in the playoffs after a wire to wire regular season, jacking Clement all over the yard was more than a cherry on top of the sundae....imo, it set the tone for the team for the rest of the playoffs. Besdies the long rest into Game 1 of the ALCS, which they had no business winning..... there was nothing holding this team back after that first game at Boston. The crowd soaked up every second of that sunny 85 degree 14-2 azz whipping.
  9. I'd appreciate a pm with the link as well.... if there is still dl's available. Much thanks very cool of you to do all these pm's. My client's will love it up here in Wilmette
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) You should've stopped while you were ahead... Edit: Take that back after re-reading you're entire post you were way behind about 15 words in. :banghead I didnt say he was better than Rowand, hell that trade was gold for us, but it seems like the kid is on webgems every night. Rowand didnt start to get noticed nationwide until his highly touted Yankee series. As far as the other crap I posed, yeah, I just did miss the memo about the players and mangers voting....which explains a lot about the winners who are chosen.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) It is also worth noting that Crede didn't play nearly as many innings as Chavez this year, in part because of Ozzie's rest patterns, in part because of his stint on the DL, so some portion of those extra errors are presumably due to playing time. Chavez was banged up early in the first half too and missed some games, Crede is moreso a flavor of the month right now, I doubt many baseball insiders and voters paid much attention to .220 hitter that gets benched for Pablo Ozuna once in a blue moon. As far as Rowand goes, we all know we wouldnt have anybody else patrolling our Center Field, hell Griffey wouldnt even had anywhere to play.... obviously Hunter doent deserve this award either, but there are other canidates out there besides Row...... Jeremy Reed comes to mind
  12. the mere fact players like Hunter and Varitek won takes away plenty of validity to these awards and what they have become. Its a shame too, because these used to be heralded as something to behold and compete for.... with that being said, I fully expect to see Rolen get 3B tomorrow, hell Barry Bonds might even squeeze one out.
  13. QUOTE(mreye @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) I believe Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government. So I'd expect were gonna start seeing Citgo commercials with Ozzie everywhere..... "I say hey, if you want yor car run goood, u get the Citgo gasorine."
  14. would be nice to get a hold of this......I thought it was pretty good, better than any "DA SOX" skit they could have done. Why would NBC mind they need as much exposure as they can get
  15. Doesnt really matter what color the seats are when they are all full....
  16. btw, the Tribune one is 12.95 and can order by calling 1800 222-4657 shipping and handeling is $6.00 or it can be found in reatil outlets around Chicagoland.
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) I went to Barnes and Noble here in Louisville and can't find anything. the huge one down on fourth st?? thats a nice store, Ive got to know Louisville quite well over the past year, great great town. Went down there for the Derby last year to visit a good good friend, and have been down there 4 times since going to shows at the Palace, UK Big Blue Mandess, amongest other things. Lousiville Slugger factory is sweet, and I highly reccomend the tour to any hardcore baseball fan. I gotta go back now so I can see all the World Champion White Sox bats on the wall. They need a Rally Crede exhibit. I find it funny that a lot of people that live there dog the town, but I gotta admit, the nightlife and people Even somewhat converted a diehard Yankee fan into a WhiteSox fan by kinapping her from ville and took her to a couple games this year. Talking to the people down there, the ville would absolutely kill for a pro baseball team.... I dont blame them, I'd hate to be forced to like the Reds.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Anyone have an idea about where Carl will end up next year? I really do wonder what will happen to him. He will gain attention soley on what he did for us in RBI production, esp in the first half. He also shook a lot of his critcs that made him out to be a clubhouse cancer, while I wouldnt exactly call him a leader, he most def was a team player this year. With that being said, I cant see him going back to the NL.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) It would "cost" everytime it's played. Brooks specifically has told several people, on this very site, that it will not be done. It didnt stop the Sox from broadcasting the intro (had both Pirates and Thunderstruck) on every major network during the rally after the parade.
  20. His RBI's and hot streaks (afterall, nothing's better than a hot carl) were so critical for this team to get off to a great start, but his 2nd half slump was one of the worst Ive seen. Thankfully, he was able to get back on track with the last week of the season and the playoffs, but I don't see any reason for the Sox to bring him back next year. He's a productive player, and where he won't be expensive, I don't see him being all that cheap either. Much like AJ, Carl showed that he can be an assest rather than a clubhouse cancer this year.... he will get offers
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) A lot of great things have come from Iowa, like, like, ahhhh, like ahhh, someone help me here, ahhh corn, yeah, corn. And I'm certain something else. ummmmmm.... BJ Armstong???
  22. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Wrong. Wrong. Wrong again. Thanks for playing. thanks for the several corrections, kids.... I wasnt quite clear until the 4th response. I guess I'm glad I didnt wait in his line last year... he was def supposed to attend, he's listed on the player list for those scheduled to appear.
  23. anybody make any dvds of the games?? I'm looking into the possibilites and may have an outlet
  24. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Frank said he was actually trying to hit homeruns because it was so painful to run the bases. not that #500 would have anything to do with that as well.....
  25. o bombs.... an endless supply of o bombs
