Time to jump out on Westbrook early and execute well tonight. I am kind of suprised at Cintron getting the nod tonight, considering how pissed Ozzie probably was after his 9th inning brain cramp last night. Regardless, we need to bounce back and win this one... Freddy should bounce back from his outing Friday night rather well, I would expect. Lets go kick some ass....
-
Alright Marky, time to keep it dialed in and beat some wahoo ass once again. Let this be the night we jump on C.C. McCheeseburger early on and keep his fat ass down the whole game. We're clicking on offense these last two days, lets keep it up!!!

That quick hits column is something else... If somehow a guy like Billy Koch (who is the epitome of suck) gets to have an impact on anyone's reputation, then thats just retarded. Most of the crap listed in there is just one-sided whiney bulls***. See, noone every cared to get AJ's side or even let his side seem truthful without mocking it. Its just easier and better for gossip to have someone like him with a bullseye on his back. Personally, I love the guy. I love his intensity, his team-first attitude, and what he brings to the table. As far as I am concerned, the testimony in that article against him is nothing more garbage being spewed by a bunch of has-been's and never-will-be's. He is not by any means an angel, that much is for certain. But he does get crucified for doing any of the things that every single ballplayer does, and somehow with him, its news...

Thats your boy, SSH Did you just hear Hawk say, "He rode him hard and put him away wet!" He is losing his mind, I swear.
-
Thankfully he is alright, just shaken up it looks like. I don't like the guy at all, but you never want to see s*** like that happen.

I hope Ozzie slaps Cora in the face for sending Konerko there. He should have been out....thankfully he wasn't.... Dumb dumb dumb decision.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 29, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Uribe just makes me cringe. Not only do I cringe, but I get the urge to vomit when he bats...its awful.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ May 28, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) Ozzie represents himself, his family, his country of Venezuela, the WhiteSox organization and alot of former Sox players & coaches with his words....thats all....is it ok for a 11 year old sox fan to yell the same obscenities aimed at the sox dugout for poor play & good games? i dont think so! I was really hoping that you meant both of those to be green, but I am guessing not. That being said, both of those sentiments could be two of the dumbest things I have ever read here. Ozzie has been like this since day one, and quite frankly I am glad he is. This team is playing a scary brand of unmotivated baseball right now. This series really started to highlight some of the laziness. They keep playing like this, despite their record now, they will be putting themselves in a bad position. I have no problem with Ozzie letting them have it for looking like s***, they deserve it right now. Uribe looks completely clueless and unfocused, Anderson is putting himself in a position to be 0-2 before he walks to the plate, and our pen is half-full of pansies. Its time for the s*** play to stop, its time for playing like they are capable of. It needs to start today. I don't want to have to refer to Jon as Judy at any point today. Lets get this s*** together and win this game and head to Cleveland.

C'mon Freddy, lets keep it going!!!! Time to kick some ass in Canada!!! -
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:44 AM) I've seen numerous posts which have said the bunt was a "Great call" or similar favorable expressions. The situation was that there were runners on base, two outs and the Sox in need of a run. Was this not a similar situation to the bunt by Neifi Perez that ended a game for the Cubs last week? Other than the fact that Ozuna executed his successfully and Perez didn't, why was Ozuna's decision to bunt a great idea and Perez's decision to bunt was ripped for being such a dumb idea? I'm seriously interested in seeing the reasoning behind everone's thinking on this. The Cubs weren't down by one, they were down by two with runners on first and third. Neifi's bunt was a retarded move for the simple fact that he would have at best put them within one with that. To me, even if Ozuna's bunt would not have worked out, at least we tried something that they were not prepared for to win the game. I liked his decision to give it a shot, and the situation lent itself perfectly if the execution was right (which it was).

WAY TO GO!!!! This game took a lot of guts to win, and normally we don't even come back from the s*** that happened in the top of the 10th! Great comeback and great squeeze play Ozuna....it was fun to watch him stand there, blow a bubble, then lay down a fantastic bunt!!! Bobby, way to OWN the top of the 10th, that was one of your best innings yet!!! GREAT WIN!!!!

Game Thread: 5/22/06 White Sox vs. A's

C'mon Jonny, lets pick up where you left off last week. Here's to a good reception for Frank!!! And a stone cold night at the plate!!! -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) Buehrle didn't have much trouble with that "small strike zone", only gave up 1 hard hit ball that fell in, and no earned runs. Maddux blows, washed up guy saw what's it's like to face a real lineup today. He WAS a great pitcher, keyword being was. Buehrle didn't have trouble with the zone at all, as ESPN just reported he threw a measley 72 strikes out of 105 pitches! It was a great game yesterday, and comical to me to see Maddux get all fired up about the zone. I was counting down the seconds until he complained enough to get run out.

White Sox versus that other team in town
chisox72 replied to Heads22's topic in 2006 Season in Review
This series could not have come at a better time, with us seemingly tripping on our own feet the last week and a half. It is just another series that we need to win, but hopefully the added energy of the fans will help to get everything back on track. We could stand to gain a lot of momentum from this, by rattling off some wins. Lets go Mark, no more "tippy tippy", time to whip some Baby Bear ass! -
Great Article!! Its going to be a fun series!! Though I don't know that I would declare AJ/Barrett Even. Their bats are pretty even, especially with AJ hitting the way he is now. But Barrett on defense is enough to make anyone want to throw up. The guy is an awful catcher. Having watched the game last Saturday (my wife, the damn cub fan) I watched Williamson throw two passed balls that there is no way AJ would have let by and Barrett did, very easily at that. That play is very defining as to what type of catcher he is. While I would rate AJ on the field among the best in the league (despite his arm), I would not hold the same for Barrett. JMO. Everything else was exactly as I would have said it!!

Great game Jonny, glad to see him shake out of his funk. Good win, now lets take the series tomorrow!!!

GAME THREAD 5-17-06 SOX vs RAYS

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 17, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) 'stache-less? Hilarious... On a side note, lets go Jonny, lets put together a solid outing, and get yer damn "confidence" back. No more JUDY!!!! -
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) I'm just wondering if we still even need three lefties. Thornton has barely pitched and I just wonder if we would be better off with another righty than Logan. SSH you are 100% right. We DO NOT need another lefty in the pen. As much as I was rooting for/praying for Logan to succeed, it just has not happened. Its time for the experiment to end. Send him down, let him build up his confidence against lesser competition and get back to him then. C'mon guys, he messed up two plays during his outing (one by not covering first, two by fielding a chopper any normal pitcher would have backed off of). I was all for him being here after ST, but he is proving that he cannot cut it right now. Figure something out, and let him go learn some more. For right now, he is a liability and a roster spot, thats all.

While I think automatically asking for a repeat is a lot, I am still doing so. This team has what it takes, they need to just keep putting it together on the field. That win to pick up Buehrle on Sunday was a big statement to the kind of heart this team has. They didn't get down, they went out and got back in it for him. If we can keep playing with that kind of guts all year, a team that picks up after itself when mistakes are made, then there is no reason we can't expect big things.

Anything up for Friday's Cubs vs Sox game?
chisox72 replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I will be there Friday/Saturday/Sunday, tailgating in lot A probably. I would tend to agree that the series has lost some of its appeal, given how poorly the Cubs are playing. But as everyone else has pointed out, you never know what can happen. Its always a great series for me and friends/family for all of the ribbing that goes on. -
C'mon Marky, time to stop the bleeding! Go out and get a goddamn win tonight!
-
C'mon Javy, time to right this ship....
-
I too hate facing Santana.... That being said, lets go Jon, keep it together tonight!!!
-
Lets go Charlie!! You have the power lineup behind you!!! First time out, lets make a hell of an impression!!!

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Great. Just what what the Angels needed to break out of their slump. Our 2 worst starters and a minor leaguer. Did you watch Freddy's start last Wednesday? He looked pretty good, somewhat improved over his early season form. It was the pen that let Seattle back into that game. Jonny has to get his crap together sooner or later (maybe AJ will actually get to catch him for a change, and force him to bang the ball inside), and as far as Haeger goes, lets just see what the kid has. Who knows, his numbers are impressive and there is only one way to find out. Besides, everyone here knows that Ozzie is not afraid to lose a game to test something. Its not always the wisest choices, but at least he tries I guess. Besides, it always give us something to debate and argue about. I for one am not impressed with the Angels and think it will be a rough trip to Chi-town for them regardless. I am concerned for Jose, but if this stint cures whatever this issue is, then get it out of the way now so it doesn't plague him.
