If you would have told me five years ago that we would not only have this guy as a member of our team, but love the hell out of him...I am not sure what I would have done. Not to mention but I bought a damn AJ jersey! The guy is great, and one of those people you love to have around your team/players because of everything he brings to the table. Reading that goes to further prove how much of an important piece to this White Sox puzzle he is.... Damn glad we locked him up!!!

I will be there tonight....lets get this done Javy!!!

QUOTE(greg775 @ May 1, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I am still not confident in Judy though.... Good God, you are still calling him Judy after what he did in the postseason last year? Yes, and I am sure I am not the only one. We only saw Jon for about 2-3 innings tops yesterday, the rest of the time it was Judy out there. He is our number 5 at best, and an overpaid one at that. As much as I would like to believe it isn't the case, I think Jon just pitched out of his mind last year and the likelihood of him even coming close to repeating is slim/none. I still like the guy, don't get me wrong, but going by what he looks like so far, I would say he is back to his .500 or slightly above .500 self. Besides its not about what he did last year, he got his props for that. Everyone else on the starting staff seems to have almost picked up where they left off last year or even exceeded our initial expectations(save for Freddy, but he should get there once the he puts the bong away). So in a nutshell, until he gets his act together, I think we will only see rare appearances from Jon and lots of "Somewhere over the rainbow."

As much as I wish it were true, because after this weekend those assholes were very deserving...I strongly doubt it. As I said to the people in the chat during the game, I never thought much about the Angels, never really cared, but now I really hate the team and their lame-ass, thunderstick thumpin' fanbase. They are a collective of idiots and crybabies. This beatdown was most enjoyable...

Hell yeah, that was a great game. We took advantage of some breaks, and overall played smart baseball. I am still not confident in Judy though.... Great chat today folks, and on to Cleveland.....

White Sox v. LAA Angels 4/30 2:35 CSN

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) What has Garland done wrong to have the b-team starting line up every time he starts? At least this time, Pablo is not in LF. I said the same thing out loud after I read the line up. I have no problem with Cintron and Mack out there, but AJ needs to play today. If anything, we are going to need his bat against Santana. Oh well, it is what it is, go get em boys! -

Alright Garland, time for the killing blow. Would be really, really nice to sweep them in front of their jackass, rally-monkey humpin', thunderstick bangin' fans!!! I would love a 4-2 west coast swing, lets get it done!!! Go Jon!!! -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 08:28 AM) AJ: "I don't know why he hit me. I don't know what I did. I didn't do anything to show him up. I just ran to first. Maybe he should hit the guy who rolled the ball back to the pitcher." Thats hilarious! The warning system is bulls***, though. First off that pitch looked blatant as hell, but for our dugout to get a warning for it was crap, and it does happen all of the time. My worry was the one would get away from Count later on in the game and he would be screwed because Escobar is a jagoff. I was really proud of the way AJ handled it though, knowing full well it was on purpose, he grimaced a little, tossed his bat back, and ran to first. And for Scioscia to deny knowing that there is a problem is funny as hell, that story has been in the news more than once.

Great work!!! Thank you!!

I usually hate Stark too, but this article made me smile. Thome is awesome. Its great to read some of his quotes and know through and through that he isn't just spouting off bulls*** to come off as a good guy. He really is. The guy impresses me more and more each day and it really is an honor to have him on our team.
-
Bleh, how about not doing that again.....
-
Damn! Ahh well, we got one on the board, lets go Jon, no BS tonight.

Is it wrong to have a man-crush on Jim Thome? What a shot.

Way to start it off Pablo!!!! Great hit!!

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) I honestly don't think it's nearly as big of a factor as it was early in the year last season. This year, we're winning because we're hitting the long ball, and we're getting very good starting pitching. Oh, I absolutely agree with that too. Not only is it the long ball, but hitting in general, this team is bad ass at the plate. Its not that his play is so directly tied to their success, its more indirect, more...coincidental. They are definately clicking right now, and dominating this road trip would be awesome!
-
Let's go Garland, lets make our way around the starting staff with everyone getting victories again! And I couldn't agree more about Pods, its almost scary how his play is SOOO closely tied to the success of this team, he needs to keep it up!

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 07:42 AM) although i'd like to see less of the cardinals talk, i'd also like to see kenny ease up. is he on the rag this week or something? Oh my god, I was just about to say the same thing after reading it. Jeez Kenny, though it might be annoying to hear him say it, its still no suprise about his feelings for his hometown team. Does that mean he "wants" to go there, no, but in his mind it "might" be cool. I don't think it takes away from his efforts, his place on this team, or the respect of any of the fans. In my mind, its really not that big of a deal. Its not a reality, and if it becomes one, I will worry about it then. That being said, lets kick the s*** out of KC one more time today!!
-
I agree, he should not have involved the fans in his "fun", but still, slapping him with a fine is pretty s***ty too. Its common knowledge that his diving worries everyone, always fearing a stupid injury. But still, its just Mark being Mark...

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:21 AM) Our defense is definitely missing Rowand already. If we had Rowand, he would be out in CF, and Anderson would be out in LF giving Pods a break to give his groin pull rest. This happened last year. I do love Thome, and love what he brings to us as a DH, however defense and pitching are the keys to success. And right now we have seen much of any to begin the year. Are we going to have to hear stuff like this all year long? Look, Rowand is gone, its time to move on and stop saying things like, "If Aaron were here that ball would have been caught (circa the two plays from Tuesday that Mack seemingly shortlegged), or if Aaron were here, he would be in CF and everything would be fine." The defense WILL get better, its too friggin early for it to not to. Not to mention, it was really two bad plays that screwed us last night, and I know its no excuse, but the sideshow circus wind they had going on could have caused even the almighty Rowand to drop that ball. Now I love Aaron as much as the next Sox fan, but its time to move on from the what-ifs or if-onlys, and look at the present and realize that these guys need to shape this s*** up and stop looking so damn lifeless. I guarantee after last nights game, Ozzie had his foot up more than one of their asses, and my guess is Pablo will be limping to the dugout today. Anyhow, hopefully Javy can pick us up today and we can kick some Royal ass! -

This was an ugly, ugly, ugly loss. We cannot afford to give s*** away in April, and this was a total give away. Need to bounce back tomorrow, in a big way -
Great post. And I agree, its time for the hoopla to be over and to get back to the business at hand. As I am sure is the case with all of us, 2005 will ALWAYS be a special season, forever in our minds. But its time to focus on 2006 and get back to the business at hand. This team will play better now that they can get on the road and get back to work. AJ in all of his sarcasm said it best when asking, "I wonder what they are going to do for us in Kansas City?" Its time. 2005 will live forever in our memories and memorabilia, but 2006 is at hand, and its time to let the asskickings begin.

I would find it hard to believe that Gooch would have been s***ty about not playing yesterday. I do understand his frustration with Guillen feeling that he needs to be treated with kid gloves because of the season length. Bottom line is, that while Iguchi may have been annoyed about not playing, I would rather have him say "no comment" and keep it to himself than b**** to someone with a mic about it. In this instance, Ozzie's comments to the media are overboard. I think its more than UNDERSTOOD in that locker room that he plays who he plays, when he plays them. But his tirades on this subject get to be like beating a dead horse sometimes. We know he is in charge, his players know he is in charge. Chill out already. That being said...lets kick some Indian ass today!
