To win in 2021 they need more pitching. Whether that is going outside of the organization to sign a new #1, or getting top end work out of a guy like Cease or Kopech, or getting steps in from guys like Stiever, Lopez, and/or Dunning, that is tough to say.

Personally I really wonder how much of an influence sequencing and counts is having on Cease. He works from behind a LOT. He also throws a lot of pitches that never have a chance of being strikes. Because of this, he loses the ability to throw pitches ahead of the count and pitches that hitters might chase when 1-2, but they won't when 3-1. This article pretty well shows that he has pure stuff, but something in that stuff isn't really allowing the magic to happen.

Eloy has looked more solid over the last few weeks in the OF. No idea if it is SSS or not, but he has started to look almost competent out there lately, even making a few pretty good plays.

Nice work @bmags The interesting thing is even besides these bolded guys, there are still others on the list who are pretty good bets to make it. Looking at the 60 man roster as a sort of guidebook as to who the Sox see as their next level guys, you still have Remilard and Burger there, and there might be others I am missing due to a lack of a clear and current 60 man squad roster.

The typical drama queens who can't handle minor adversity in their sports teams. It was a kid who last threw in a real game 12 and a half months ago making his major league debut after having previously peaked at High A ball. He was really amped up to start with, and relaxed as he moved along. He flashed great control after his early wildness.
