  1. If you have to post "It's different" it is a pretty clear indicator that this is the same recycled post from another thread.
  2. The combination of needing to be passed by so many teams, with so few games left to play mean that a scenario where ALL of them win enough games, while also NOT pushing another contending team down and out of mathematical contention make it so statistically improbable, that it effectively becomes 100%.
  3. The win last night pushed the division odds up over 10 percentage points FG at 64.7% for the division and 5.4% for the world series. The wild thing is that Minnesota while having a 32.2% chance at the division, have a 8.3% chance at winning the world series. Bref now 67.3% for the division, and 3.5% for the world series win . The Twins are showing a 4.4% chance at winning it all, and with Cleveland it is 5.4%
  4. This. He isn't coming to be on the roster this season.
  5. And that is including the one season with the Cubs.
  6. Finished The Wire the other day for the first time. I get why people loved it, and I think I would have liked it a lot more 15 years ago when it came out. As it stands it isn't an all time favorite for me, like some, but I did like it a lot. Great characters most of all. You find yourself rooting for guys like Omar, while hating some of the main characters. i think my biggest problems were how unbelievable some of the situations were, such as New Hamsterdam and McNaulty's whole serial killer thing, and how long they went on and nothing really happened for such a long period of time. The first few seasons were definitely the best, though one of the great jobs they did was portraying the complete lack of a future the really young kids had for themselves, and their parents being the direct cause of it because their lives sucked. The acting and characters were awesome. It was one of the best casts around.
  7. Yeah, even with Sox fans guesses outpacing Vegas, it looks like the team will still win more than most Sox fans guessed.
  8. Considering they are .500 against they rest of their games, it is an argument to be made.
  9. this team had way more ability to absorb line up problems than it did pitching problems. Yoan didn't hurt nearly as much as the starting pitching losses and Bummer in the pen.
  10. I think Abreu has to the team leader for MVP right now. I think his large improvement in the field, his huge power/RBI numbers, plus the long hitting streak will win out over Tim's story. I will say this much, it is a nice problem to have.
  11. I am not going to get back into that debate again, which is why I avoided it.
  12. It is obvious that whatever Mazara had has sapped his strength. He is the one that surprises me with his still playing every day. Even EE has played less lately.
  13. It wouldn't shock me if he "retires" this off season.
  14. I don't see how anyone who lived through Terry Bevington's jackassery could feel that ANYONE else has been worse.
  15. Yeah about the only thing that could have gone better is the health of the pitching staff or having Kopech around, assuming he didn't get hurt too.
  16. It would be incredible to clinch a playoff spot with Minnesota in Chicago to watch it.
  17. You must be pretty young if you think Robin is our worst manager ever.
  18. There it is. The point of this all. Talk about playing the percentages etc, but when you start using phrases like this, the posts lose a lot of meaning and clarity.
