  1. Its funny. If you have AIDS and knowingly don't take protective measures, you can be charged with a felony. But when it comes to COVID, we talk about freedoms. They are both viruses that can cause a deadly disease. What is the difference here?
  2. Judging by how many Illinois plates I see every weekend at our tourist destinations in NWI, I would be scared too. The outlet mall is open and packed. The Casino is back open and filling up, and our beach is packed as are all of the summer houses owned by people from the Chicago metro. I KNOW there are a lot of people who aren't using protection while out here too.
  3. It starts right at the top of the food chain.
  4. This line of logic again? Unless you are saying that we should rid ourselves of all traffic laws and auto safety advances, you aren't comparing apples to apples here, which is literally the point. We have a century of doing tons of things to mitigate the possibility of dying in an auto accident. It is literally the point of what we are doing with COVID.
  5. Does this include the ones who tested positive initially or is this in addition to it?
  6. Getting your pension and insurance is more important for most players than their actual earnings.
  7. Again that death total is also a pretty significant understatement too.
  8. At the end of the day, you want the guys you sign to be better than the guys in the system. I guess they were trying to do exactly that.
  9. I read the same thing. One of the Cubs minority owners is also the SB Cubs owner. As for the Sox, there are a lot of MiLB stadiums in the area which could be used. Haven't heard anything that any one stadium is on a list or not.
  10. I can't see them going longer than 2 or 3 years if anything at all.
  11. Yeah, unless all of their OF prospects flop, I can't see them spending a lot on a long term deal for him. They have guys in que that they like.
  12. For the record, I saw a tweet about this the other day. Literally once in MLB history has a team started out 49-11.
  13. With the margin for error being 60/162 of a normal season, they really can't afford to mess around with the roster this year. Put your top team on the field and let it roll. For a team that is probably just outside of playoff range in a normal season, also take advantage of the fluke that with one long streak, you can actually play yourself into a playoff race, or out of it if it is a bad one. There isn't time to cover up for a bad month or two week stretch.
