Eh, I won't let a one game sample over run what he did the last two years. He went from an afterthought of an MiLB signing to one of the key and most important set up guys the team had.

Someone said Raul Ibanez, which is an interesting name, and someone who would fit the profile of being with winning franchises and still active in the playoffs.

Evan Marshall is an untalked about story from the last couple of years.

With the incentives that MLB put out there for the players to not get in trouble for this, I feel the same way. Doesn't mean he wasn't a part of things, but this was definitely engineered for the players to not pay for anything.

With that post coming before RH laid out what he is looking for, I would say that is pretty clear that the new information precludes guys like that at this time. Maybe one moves up onto a spot like bench coach, but they really seem happy with what Getz is feeding them through the minors.

For the record here, RH said in his presser that Cooper was here 19 years. The next longest PC has been in their job since 2011. 25 of 30 MLB teams have changed PCs in the last 3 years.

The speculation around Maraza has been there from day one, even though Nomar said that was not what he had, people still believe it is.

It means the team knows this is their window and they were not going to waste time on people who they felt didn't fit the window. The rest of that mess is pointless.

burn this thread to the ground. Thanks RH for ending any speculation on this.

He even had some positive impacts on the team this year when you look at how many rookie relievers we were able to use in having a great pen this season.

Hahn also mentioned it could be someone on a staff that is still playing in the playoffs.

It seems like this should have been obvious.

Fully agree here. And didn't even wait for a new manager for it to happen.

I can't believe you still have hurt feelings over needing to be told that posting the word poop over and over and over and over again isn't something people want to see on a message board.

It could well mean that the starting pitching is good enough to put him in that roll, which would be incredible.

That ends the presser!

Spanish speaking will be important for next coaching staff, but not necessarily the manager himself.

No MGR hiring timeline. Currently vetting their list. Might need to wait to talk to potential candidates who could be busy right now.

Asked about reassigning RR internally said they only addressed MGR job.

When asked about internal candiates for MGR, said will be more than likely from the outside.

Could use Crochet as a multi inning reliver going forward to build innings, if a MiLB season does happen, could use him as a starter there and then eventually back to Chicago to manage workload. Does call him a potential impactful starter.

Crochet immediate futures is still TBD in terms of going to minors to work as a starter, or join team as a reliever. Does think long terms is a starter.

Kopech has been connected with MiLB coaches to work on his program going forward. Has stayed connected to team, even recommending a hire for the team who had been let go by another organization. Will be tough to over come missing two years, and building up going forward, but no question he is a part of the team going forward.

I missed the James McCann stuff, but it seemed to be hinted that they expected him to be gone.

Absence of a minor league season does make it harder to project Vaughn going forward.
