Absolutely. They obviously want to see if what they saw in him is still there. He is an Avi Garcia. Maraza is a super high ceiling guy who just can't get there. I know it seems like FOREVER because of the shortened season, but besides games this year, they are also trying to evaluate if he is worth keeping around for next year.

At this stage they control their own fate.

The combination of needing to be passed by so many teams, with so few games left to play mean that a scenario where ALL of them win enough games, while also NOT pushing another contending team down and out of mathematical contention make it so statistically improbable, that it effectively becomes 100%.

The wild thing is that Minnesota while having a 32.2% chance at the division, have a 8.3% chance at winning the world series. Bref now 67.3% for the division, and 3.5% for the world series win . The Twins are showing a 4.4% chance at winning it all, and with Cleveland it is 5.4%
