**Water-Cooler Thread (TV stuff)**
Finished The Wire the other day for the first time. I get why people loved it, and I think I would have liked it a lot more 15 years ago when it came out. As it stands it isn't an all time favorite for me, like some, but I did like it a lot. Great characters most of all. You find yourself rooting for guys like Omar, while hating some of the main characters. i think my biggest problems were how unbelievable some of the situations were, such as New Hamsterdam and McNaulty's whole serial killer thing, and how long they went on and nothing really happened for such a long period of time. The first few seasons were definitely the best, though one of the great jobs they did was portraying the complete lack of a future the really young kids had for themselves, and their parents being the direct cause of it because their lives sucked. The acting and characters were awesome. It was one of the best casts around.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
4 + this one.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Yeah, even with Sox fans guesses outpacing Vegas, it looks like the team will still win more than most Sox fans guessed.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Considering they are .500 against they rest of their games, it is an argument to be made.

The Good Times
this team had way more ability to absorb line up problems than it did pitching problems. Yoan didn't hurt nearly as much as the starting pitching losses and Bummer in the pen.

AL MVP Race
I think Abreu has to the team leader for MVP right now. I think his large improvement in the field, his huge power/RBI numbers, plus the long hitting streak will win out over Tim's story. I will say this much, it is a nice problem to have.

Do you keep playing EE or Mazara?
I am not going to get back into that debate again, which is why I avoided it.

2021 MLB Draft Thread
Here's to hoping for pick #30.

Do you keep playing EE or Mazara?
It is obvious that whatever Mazara had has sapped his strength. He is the one that surprises me with his still playing every day. Even EE has played less lately.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
It wouldn't shock me if he "retires" this off season.
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
I don't see how anyone who lived through Terry Bevington's jackassery could feel that ANYONE else has been worse.
-
The Good Times
Yeah about the only thing that could have gone better is the health of the pitching staff or having Kopech around, assuming he didn't get hurt too.

Magic Number: Playoffs - 0; Division - 4
It would be incredible to clinch a playoff spot with Minnesota in Chicago to watch it.

You must be pretty young if you think Robin is our worst manager ever.
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
There it is. The point of this all. Talk about playing the percentages etc, but when you start using phrases like this, the posts lose a lot of meaning and clarity.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
And what's really wild, is there will be upset Sox fans if RR wins Manager of the Year.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Why is the line there? Why doesn't the closer working multiple innings come into the equation? Why didn't we get mad about Yolmer and McCann not subbing in for the same reasons? You are the one throwing around loaded phrases and only applying them where you see fit here. Especially in a situation where the manager has already managed incredibly aggressively with his bullpen and the Engel situation. Don't get hurt feelings now from your own words.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
You are the one who is peddling the idea of managing scared, not me. I just can't figure how where this "logic" begins and ends, and more importantly why it is so inconsistent.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
So being scared that Eloy might miss a ball isn't operating scared, but being scared of losing his bat is? Makes sense.
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Then you can easily turn the tables and ask how many hits/homers does Eloy have that Dyson wouldn't have gotten?
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
The Twins did pretty much everything wrong last night. The failed in the clutch, they missed opportunities, and they got strategy wrong at key times.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Isn't using a D sub managing scared?
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
I can think of one on the entire Sox roster.
-
Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
This is how I explained the actions as well. If he was down the line it would have been one thing, but if Colome had blown the game, Eloy would have literally led off the 9th with a chance to win it.
