  1. Don't confuse this deal not happening with it not being announced. There are a lot of behind the scenes things that happen in multi-billion dollar things, like I have tried to explain to you multiple times.
  2. Which amounts to transferring control while he is alive, and Jerry giving him a ROFR upon his death for the remaining shares.
  3. @tray Do you have a problem with the math or is this just more of your pathetic passive-aggressive ignorance?
  4. He could do it one of three ways. Sell immediately. Sell at some agreed upon point in the future, or sell upon his death to save on gains. The last two options require some sort of conversation about team control that I am sure has already taken place.
  5. The thinking is if JR called him back from the Twins and convinced him to buy minority share of the Sox instead, there is zero chance this isn't a path to full ownership at some point in the near future. Ishbia will put cash up to defray stadium costs, making a public pitch for dollars more palatable. Jerry's stake is worth more per share, but not in total, because of the nature of control and voting attached to the agreement.
  6. If Ishbia agrees to a transition structure, he won't be "letting" him run it. While Jerry might maintain "control", Ishbia will almost certainly be the one calling the shots. Again, I liked the idea that he let's Jerry be the face of the two ugly public fights that remain over a stadium and the CBA, and then once the PR hits are over, he bows out publicly, but until that time, they are working together behind the scenes to do whatever the Sox do as an organization.
  7. It's a capital gain no matter how much you own. The ownership structure and purchaser literally have zero to do with how much Jerry pays in taxes upon his cashing out. It's the price he gets paid by the purchaser, minus the price he paid originally, times the gains rate. It's not hard. It's just like anyone else would be paying on any long term gain, such as stock or crypto.
  8. This is already a massive step forward. If they can add one more tackle starter, they are in good shape.
  9. And if he sucks, he is a costless dump after this year.
  10. We won't. 100% we won't. It's why experimenting with players is able to happen, and necessary. As an investor, I look at the guys we signed this year as minimal money market accounts with near zero interest rate. Some of these other guys are shot in the dark stocks or crypto who probably won't break out and will remain worthless, but if they did figure it out, could be a huge return on investment. The Sox need those lottery ticket types instead of a money market.
  11. This article or somewhere else? https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6152097/2025/02/21/justin-ishbia-out-minnesota-twins-sale/
  12. And the Chiefs internally voted him their MVP.
  13. Hiding in plain sight actually makes more sense than the real story.
  14. In a city full of loudmouth knownothings, he might be at the top of the list.
  15. Maybe Getz could some help somewhere else.
  16. I mean we already checked almost all of these boxes. Now we even got Getz to make sure of it.
  17. And what better way than to bring in people to develop? Find guys with some plus tools who have a non-zero chance at being on the Sox next winning team, instead of declining guys with zero chance.
