Especially with the population drops they have been experiencing.

No one is giving up something significant for Garcia and spending arbitration prices on him too. The window is closed, which is why the original writer talked about him being non-tendered. MLB teams aren't stupid. They understand that they can get him for both less money and no prospects by waiting for a couple of weeks if they really want Avi.

It's too late really. They should have done it at the deadline if that was their goal.

I have no interest in the lesser guys.

To me, this is a big red flag. I get that peak Donaldson would be a huge signing, but there are some warning signs on the horizon these last two years.

I mind adding a 3B a lot less than any other position simply because we are the most shallow there long term going forward. That is exactly why Machado would be my #1 target going forward. The marginal utility of an all-star level 3B will add the most value to the White Sox going forward, especially if you feel like we will find 3 starters out of our OF prospect jumble.

With an injury like that, bringing someone back at less than 100% dramatically increases the chances of reinjury.

They did just bring back CC.

In the last day, Brennan and Perralta have signed elsewhere, while Alex Katz has signed as a MiLB free agent and is coming back.

I can't imagine that they would keep him out weeks more if he were healthy. He is one of the guys you want playing most.

He will probably either sign day 1 with someone who loves him, or in March.

If they fail at an upgrade, I think it is possible. I mean they do seem to like Avi, but they also seem to be showing they are ready to move on.

The clubhouse is also full of guys who want his job.

They are obviously in it. Who knows what the odds are, but they are putting themselves in the game at the very least.

Welcome to rebuilding. If we don't sign a Brantley or Harper, we are back to the in house options of Palka, Delmonico and the like.

It sounds like they are trying to add at least one major league OF, plus they know Eloy will be up in mid April, so that is actually two slots they are needing to make room for. Avi really doesn't fit. He really didn't fit their plans at the end of the season, and were actively trying to trade him then.

It actually looks like they fired her after she reported these types of incidents. https://deadspin.com/ex-mariners-employee-lorena-martin-says-mariners-bosses-1830406290

The Cubs got a total of 27 IP from people they drafted, and 1 of those was JA Happ. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/cubs-achilles-heel-rearing-its-ugly-head-again-winter-harper-farm-system-pitching-prospects-alzolay
