  1. While blocking players like Sosa and Montgomery, when in reality you should be looking to add to fill holes AFTER you figure out what you actually have in a few years instead of preventing that talent evaluation from happening and paying someone money to do it.
  2. They have room for about 25 above average players right now, which is the point. Pissing away the resources and playing time for one player which does absolutely nothing to help the future of this franchise is short sighted and a waste.
  3. The Sox probably won't be a .500 team in 3 seasons. You add players like that to fill holes on a team that is competitive, not to waste resources on historically bad teams and block your top prospect.
  4. No, I want them to actually rebuild this team instead of wasting resources and half assing this again.
  5. Don't threaten me with exactly what a 41 win team should be doing.
  6. For what, exactly? To win 51 games this year? And trust me they are trying to move Robert and Benny.
  7. I am talking about window dressing on literally the worst team in the history of baseball. WTF are you talking about? Why would you waste millions on a mid term deal for a player that has no hope of playing on a winning team? It's like getting expensive rims for for 84 Cutlass sitting up on blocks in the backyard.
  8. If you are living in a trailer park are you buying a Ferrari to park in your car port?
  9. Because uprooting your family twice in six months sounds fun.
  10. Which is saying something because it was always stupid.
  11. These small moves can help cut time on that path if done right. A guy like Junis should get you something at the deadline if healthy.
  12. Look having Josh Rojas isn't a problem for me in general. He was a free agent signing who cost you nothing but money. But there are two things of note here. 1.Decent organizations have all kinds of good fielding/no hit utility guys falling out of their trees. 2. These kinds of guys aren't used to block guys who need ABs during historically bad seasons for exactly the value proposition you just outlined. They are literal roster filler.
  13. This right here is the type of stuff the Sox should be looking to do.
  14. The Sox seem to have more faith in 3other teams 30s relievers than they do in developing their own young pitchers by their own recent moves. If they believed in their own people, why do they need other people's journeyman in another in a string of 100+ loss seasons, instead of developing their own for pennies on the dollar?
  15. Looks like he is an 18 YO Cuban 3b and ranked #33 in MLBs top 50 international prospects.
  16. It's the continued gaslighting of Sox fans who are supposed to believe that we fixed all of the drafting, scouting, and development problems in the organization with all of the new hires, titles, and the rest, while also believing that needing to bring a bunch of bad to mediocre players at the expense of recent draft picks and prospects, as well as the current arrivals playing time, because they aren't good enough to be developed into usable major league pieces. At best this is a 4-5 year process, but if this group still doesn't have faith in their own ability to train up their own people, this is going to be a lost decade until someone takes over for Jerry and puts real adults in charge.
  17. Which is why they keep blocking them and trading them away, to much fanfare.
  18. It's really scary that Sox management doesn't seem to believe in their own ability to develop nobodies either as now we are sending prospects and signing other people's nobodies. The signing part doesn't bother me as bad as giving up prospects for them. They seem to have zero faith in their own people's ability to create players, even sending out kids they just drafted.
  19. Hadn't really thought about this in terms of Montgomery, but if this blocks them from rushing him, that's at least a positive. I guess we will see.
