QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) Seriously, where have you been the past 5 years? The fans care about the crap on the field exhibit: 2013-2016 seasons. The only place that happens is 8 miles north of here.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 01:51 PM) Can we lock this and have Ron remake it?

QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) Look, with where the salary structure of the roster, I would argue that it would remain a better deal to be more certain about what the organization was committing to. With the extension, the organization is 100% certain what it is committed to. Without the extension they would not have any certainty at all.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 01:51 PM) I'm beginning to think you mean this literally If that is what it takes to get him into the White Sox system...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) They are $112,800 ahead in the top 10 rounds, plus an extra 25k each to Wilcanon and Yurchak in rounds 11&12 to make $62,800+

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 02:15 PM) Thanks for the finds on the Louisville pair. But I'm pretty sure the Sox are a little over 100k ahead on pool. They are $112,800 ahead in the top 10 rounds, plus an extra 25k each to Wilcanon and Yurchak in rounds 11&12 to make $62,800+

With the two Louisville signings, the Sox are sitting an estimated $62,800 ahead of their bonus pool number, with Evan Skoug left to sign. With his slot of $201,700, the Sox can offer him an estimated $264,500 signing bonus without going over their pool total and into tax territory. The Sox also can go over their team allotment of $7,921,400 by up to 5%, or $396,070, if they are willing are to pay a 75% tax penalty. Anything over that total would result in an additional loss of a draft pick.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) Sounds good to me. I think Acuna and some pitching makes sense. Say, Acuna, Fried, Gohara, and wildcard. I'd still love to get my hands on Kevin Maitan.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) Trout is an 80 grade player. Flat out elite, perennial MVP candidate, future 1st ballot HOF. 80 grade is a generational talent. Guys like Kris Bryant, Carlos Correa, Nolan Arenado, etc are 70 grade players If Tatis ends up in that camp, I will be thrilled that the Sox have finally learned how to scout Latin America.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) Think we'll see any Adolfo in the backend of any mid season top 100s? Two things would need to happen in my eyes. #1, he keeps up this ridiculous run and he ends up with 25-30 homers, along with a respectable batting average. #2, K's come down into the 25% range.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 10:50 AM) This 2017 version of Chris Sale is for real. Looking at fangraphs: - Manged increased his swinging strike% by an incredible 5% this year, his 16.2% swstr now leads MLB, and is by far his career best. - FB velo increased by 1.5 MPH, 2nd high FB velo since becoming a starter - Mixing up his pitches, throwing 29.2% slider, by far the highest since 2013. - BABIP is consistent with his career norm - Benefited from move away from the cell. HR/9 is lowest since 2014, when he posted a 2.17 ERA All in all, it seems like Sale is going all out and maximizing his talent, the only concern is if his skinny frame will hold up till playoff time. That and his arm in general.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:00 AM) I've not seen a single place other than Keith Law suggest he's even remotely close to that. That'd be the top prospect in baseball. 70 would be something like Mike Trout.
