QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 03:42 PM) so soon to be rounds 8-10. Wonder how many actual slot guys we can get, or if any are high schoolers. If we go high schooler I would imagine we may need to draft seniors 9 and 10 I am sure this is where the seniors start rolling in for the Sox, as that is how they have historically picked, unless they knows they have saved a few hundred K on Burger and Sheets.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 03:34 PM) It's the 7th round and the Sox got a top 50 prospect who was looked at as a first round pick at the beginning of the year and you're upset? It's a crapshoot. I like this crap compared to the others. You'd have to think this would have been a solid value pick even a few rounds ago, let alone in the 7th round.

Skoug profile. I wonder if this means we do have some underslot money saved up front? http://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/6/7/15...tian-university

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 01:27 PM) David Banuelos is a guy I'd have liked the Sox to draft. His bat might not play, but he really really has a shot at being an elite defensive catcher, which I think works in this era. Was just picked in 5th round by Seattle

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) I used these, someone told me they are not reliable though. What's your opinion? I know you're a higher up at your company or something along those lines. How good are your networking connections? I have personally found that industry contacts are usually more reliable than anything else.

Bad news on the names front. Troy Bacon was drafted six slots in front of the Sox pick.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 12:35 PM) Also Hostetler mentioned lots that they wanted more prep players this year to even out our org. Not the case so far. That probably has more to do with who was getting picked in front of them. For example, a lot of HS kids were picked right in front of them this morning.

At one point Law had Gonzalez as the Cubs 1st round pick, along with some interesting details on him. http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2017/06...-one-week-left/
