  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 12:35 PM) Also Hostetler mentioned lots that they wanted more prep players this year to even out our org. Not the case so far. That probably has more to do with who was getting picked in front of them. For example, a lot of HS kids were picked right in front of them this morning.
  2. At one point Law had Gonzalez as the Cubs 1st round pick, along with some interesting details on him. http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2017/06...-one-week-left/
  3. More Gonzalez https://mlbdraftcountdown.wordpress.com/201...-of-new-mexico/
  4. Gonzalez also pitched while at New Mexico http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...uis-gonzalez-10
  5. Garcia has fallen to 6th in the latest release, about 16k behind Betts from Boston.
  6. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) He said that he could likely handle Kannapolis but might need some seasoning initially in Great Falls. I bet he finishes the year in Kannapolis and begins next year at Winston Salem. Middle of 2019 trajectory. Typically the Sox like to send the advanced/college kids to MT, and they send the HS and younger kids to AZ, which is what I was going off of. The really advanced kid might only spend a few weeks in Great Falls though, that is pretty normal for the White Sox.
  7. Carlos Collazo‏Verified account @CarlosACollazo 20m20 minutes ago Going into Day 2, Nick Allen, Blayne Enlow, Tanner Burns, Brady McConnell, Tristan Beck headline our best available: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft-preview/?sort=rank&top=500&pos=All&year=2017&draftStatus=Undrafted …://http://www.baseballamerica.com/draf...tus=Undrafted …
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 11:11 AM) I believe Hostetler said Burger could start in Kanny actually. I missed that. Interesting.
  9. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) The kid won't even have to move if he plays in Winston I would imagine both of them will start in Great Falls.
  10. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Yeah but he's got 10's of millions of reasons to change. And how did that work out for Giolito? Again, it isn't as easy as just "do it".
  11. Let the Blackhawks selling begin!
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) AAU culture reaches the NBA. Get used to it. These guys didn't grow up competing with the best. They grew up playing with the best. That is a great connection. Good call.
  13. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) Those are reasonable optimistic scenarios. Troy Glaus would be an absolute best case I think, as he was a stud. If Burger can keep himself in shape and play average defense at third base I think his bat and approach will be solid enough to produce for us down the line. He will likely needs 2-3 seasons in the minors, but he's a potential starter at 3B for us in the future. If we get Todd Frazier out of Burger, that is a pretty good win for the Sox. If we get Troy Glaus, buy Hostetler a drink or something, because that is a home run of a pick.
  14. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 10:09 AM) Why is the arm bar hard to correct? Just tell him not to straighten his left arm when he prepares to swing. He probably has 10's of thousands of reps doing something the same way. It isn't super-easy to change some of the basic mechanics.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 06:04 AM) Hostetler likes his chances at 3B. If this organization has truly improved with prospects getting better defensively (Collins looks great this year) then I like the kid's chances of staying there. I love Burger as a hitter. If he stays at 3B (which he probably will) he's a very, very good prospect. And with the Sheets selection, the Sox feel that way about his future there too. They have also improved Tim Anderson a ton, even with the work he still needs to do.
