  1. Jerry is offering $13 million in renovations to someone else's ballpark when he won't pay anything towards his own.
  2. Because all of the same factors that made them previously failures are still in charge.
  3. Fajardo. Trading them for 30something relievers is Rick Hahnesque
  4. I disagree. This exactly the type of guys we should be adding, not subtracting. These are the guys that grow out of no where, or find an extra 2 inches on their fastball. Are the odds low? Sure. But they are also the ones who do the crazy leaps.
  5. New titles isn't really impressive to me when the same people who caused the problems are still here. Even if someone now has that title, it wasn't like Don Cooper wasn't leading the organization in pitching before Katz got here. Honestly I wish I could blindly believe again. It was much nicer.
  6. We did this before too. Remember Marco Paddy? Hostetler? Pedro? The guy we hired a couple of years ago who was going to redo analytics and then quietly disappeared? We had to promote Rick Hahn because everyone else wanted him and he was going to modernize every thing. Sound familiar? They just posted a job to run Latin Am scouting operations, so that has been empty.
  7. When you promote a guy who would have been fired anywhere else because his previous experience was a complete failure to do a job he had never done before? The same owner who wouldn't let this vital new structure go into place for a year so he didn't have to pay to fire people? The same owner who has historically had the smallest front office, scouting, and analytics departments in baseball? Packaging it as new is a sales job, not actually anything new. The main problems still exist, which are Jerry and the obedient snitches and yes men he surrounds himself with.
  8. It's the same owner. And we have done this before. Many times.
  9. And refusing to look at the Sox history and looking only for positives is by definition not objective.
  10. Objectivity is a misnomer here. We have history to base observations and expectations on, and do not need blind faith. There is nothing to say that the happy people are any more objective that the upset ones, just because you agree with them.
  11. Except the ballpark is more empty than ever, and the teams ratings are essentially 0.
  12. I will never get being so mad that people are shitty about the state of this franchise... and so mad they are inventing reasons to be offended. I feel like the worst season is a decent reason for people to be incredibly skeptical about the state of this franchise.
  13. That is a WAY under market extension. That is NOT a free agent contract by definition.
  14. Look, it would be a huge jump start to getting this going, but a tweet that basically stakes out both sides just seems extremely sus.
