  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) He is 4th in ERA, and above him is Duffy/Fulmer. While fulmer is fantastic, he has not pitched for that many innings this year (and may start to fatigue). Hamels has star power above him though, and a winning team. Here's to Q tortoise-hare'ing the race. Top 5 era, top 5 whip. With a little bit of luck, he can be right in the middle of the race.
  10. Hansen is starting to get a decent amount of attention from national writers too. It is almost a shame that the short season is coming to an end for him.
  11. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 02:43 AM) For the love of god, sent him to W-S already. I start to freak out every 5 days, and then I remember he is way more talented than anyone he is pitching too. He needs a challenge. Future Sox pointed out that GF has a longer schedule than WS.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 21, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) Does he start in Winston Salem or Birmingham next year? Bring him to camp and let him tell you where he goes
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 21, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Adams was also straight out of high school while Hansen had three years of college. Outside of Burdi and Sale, I don't think anyone in the system has an arm like Hansen. There is no reason to not get excited about the improvements he has made so far.
  14. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 21, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) It's great that Hansen is putting up these numbers, but remember what Spencer Adams did right out of high school as a rookie? 59 K, 4 BB in 41.2 IP. Granted he gave up 49 hits, but we were very impressed with that until the hits stayed the same and the strikeouts fell off a cliff. Hansen isn't giving up hits, but the walks probably jump up as he moves up the levels and that could be a problem. In short, it's rookie ball so who knows. I think the big difference is that Adams numbers didn't change a ton when he got into the minors. Hansen, besides having 1-1 stuff, which Adams never did, has done a complete 180 since we signed him.
  15. Also very interesting to see the talk with Zaleski. The Sox obviously like him to keep him as a pitcher as long as they did. I wouldn't be shocked to see him as a quick mover as a pitching coach as well.
  16. Wow. What a game. That is one hit over his last 11 IP, right?
  17. Real nice first three quarters for Team USA to win the gold in basketball
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 11:08 PM) Vesey in his conference call said Hayes had a huge impact on his decision. I've said it before and I'll say it again. f*** Kevin Hayes. So the dude turned down Tavares and Kane to go play with Kevin Hayes. Uh, ok.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) Who cares? If you don't care, why post? Now excuse me while I get off of your lawn.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Gunnar Bentz releases a statement telling his side of the story. His version actually sounds very believable. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/gunnar-bentz-...&soc_trk=ma It also seems to match the video evidence I saw.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 09:33 AM) He was in a denial stage in his mind. To him he wasn't really in jail, even though he was.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) pretty scary that Hawks "illness" last week was a heart arrhythmia Whoa. That is scary. His health hasn't been great for a long time. Hopefully the guy is Ok.
  23. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) Does Cromartie have anything left? The secondary is really the last place on this Bears team that can afford any injuries at all. I am sure he has more than the bottom of the roster scrubs do.
  24. Finally got to catch up on the episode last night. Love the reveal finally happening, but really like the way they portrayed the different interactions within prison, and looking forward to see what the reality of what happened in a couple of cases really is.
