  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:31 PM) ...maybe that 9th inning last night was the turning point? Regardless, nice to see, finally. I didn't see it mentioned last night, but I will say it tonight. I was really happy to see the 4 runs put on the board last night in the 9th inning. It told me that the team, which down 11-0 could have packed up and gone home, still has the desire to play and be competitive. Glad to see it carrying over til today.
  2. A 27 pitch first inning for Gio.
  3. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) Theyre both acting like children. Real nice to see Hillary lowering herself to Trump's level.
  4. QUOTE (Saufley @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) You can be happy and worship Reinsdorf, but not even you can or will change my opinion and memories of Bill Veeck! I am not worshiping anyone. Just pointing out the inconsistency here.
  5. Very nice to see Melky make Gio pay for the walks. Real nice piece of hitting to poke that into the gap.
  6. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:08 PM) Donald J. TrumpVerified account ‏@realDonaldTrump Donald J. Trump Retweeted Hillary Clinton How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up--and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted? This election is gonna be a circus Welcome to the meme election.
  7. QUOTE (Saufley @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) and this is the same ownership group that criticized Bill Veeck. At least Bill Veeck cared about the fans. It is funny that Bill Veeck is revered like he is, while JR is criticized for how little the team has made the playoffs. How many times did the Sox make the playoffs while Veeck owned the team?
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) User Actions Following Scot Gregor ‏@scotgregor Hahn on Ventura's status: "I don't think you've ever seen me telegraph any move." #WhiteSox Not exactly a ringing endorsement Holy crap. He might as well have walked into the dugout and kicked him in the nuts.
  9. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 05:45 PM) In a way, the social media takedown of this guy is probably better justice than another few years in jail. Yeah, I have to say, the fact that the outrage machine has been pretty universally in high gear shows that while a singular judge might have made a mistake, the general public didn't. Even if it isn't in prison, this kid's life is over.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:14 PM) I get the feeling that Danish will only be in Chicago for a couple days as a stopgap, but who knows. This is exactly it. The bullpen is fried, and they want a guy who can give them 4 or 5 innings in a stretch to save the pen, if needed.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) i wasn't thinking as much about the money as I was Morneau signing it when he can't guarantee the White Sox won't land some other LH hitting DH type in the next month and why he'd take that deal without that guarantee. If it's a major league deal and he'd have to be called up or DFAd once a rehab stint ends, then I guess that can make some sense. At worst, they other roster chaff they can dump too. This does not preclude them from making another move.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) Could it be possible that Hahn likes the financial security that the Sox present him with that NO OTHER organization could give him? Why go somewhere that if you fail they will hold you accountable? Hahn is a gigantic fool if he took a job in this organization but wasn't on board for how the franchise operated. He had at least half a dozen different organizations chase after him. He could have wrote his own ticket to a myriad of different teams. He wants to be here, and be a part of this.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) It really is a little bit bizarre to race out and grab a guy 6 weeks before he'll be ready to play if your team is in trouble right now, gotta admit that. Doesn't mean it's the wrong move, just odd. We can't solve this problem right now so we'll just hope it solves itself and then we'll solve it in 6 weeks? It is costing them something like an extra $150k to sign him now as opposed to in a month. It really isn't a big deal.
  14. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) This move does nothing to preclude them from making additional deals. I honestly think this is a back up plan in case they are unable to land a bigger bat by the deadline. If they do they cut Morneau loose and are out very little. Bingo. There is zero chance that this stopping them from doing anything else. None.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Why Danish? He hasn't even been decent this year He is a filler for a couple of days.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) Just a guess but it's probably $1 million prorated over the rest of the season too, so it's probably only like 650K total. Yeah with 2/3 of a season left, he gets 2/3 of that million dollars. Though the Sox did him a favor by signing him to the major league roster right away and putting him on the DL, which starts his salary today.
  17. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Take your Sox hatred blinders off. This is absolutely the right move to make. The guy won a batting title two years ago and was hitting over .300 last year before he was hurt. $1 million is chump change in MLB. If he sucks you cut him loose, no big loss. Yeah, even if he fails, so what. You are paying him what you are paying two minimum wage guys, plus he at least has a recent history of being really good.
  18. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) Danish coming up. This has got to be a fill in move, not a permanent one. 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 1m1 minute ago White Sox designate RHP Mat Latos for assignment, call up RHP Tyler Danish http://cbsloc.al/1tl5f0F
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) Surprised they didn't try him in a bullpen role. My guess is that he didn't want to, so they cut him.
  20. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) Can we DFA you? Hopefully WSI will claim you.
  21. From the opening day roster, John Danks, Jerry Sands, and now Mat Latos are off of the 25 man roster. JB Shuck was already sent down once. My guess from playing patterns is that Jimmy Rollins is next, unless there is a trade that changes the roster differently.
  22. This is why Miguel Gonzalez wasn't sent down.
  23. QUOTE (Saufley @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) John McDonough did it for the Blackhawks. I just don't see that kind of move on the south side until a change at the very top happens, though. Toews, Keith and Kane did it for the Blackhawks.
