  1. The last four years have been disastrous for his bottom line. High payrolls and low attendance.
  2. This. Instead of the carriers being able to sell the ad time, they do directly and keep all of the dollars.
  3. Or... You live in your parents basement You live in Bridgeport but don't want the White Sox to move out of a neighborhood they have been in for over 100 years. You crave one-upmanship on internet forums. You are a know-it-all. There are other less generous explanations.
  4. Honestly that makes a lot of sense. Most people don't have the memory to wait 2 to 4 years to punish a pol who shoves money at Jerry.
  5. Well he trends out to Tony's type of manager. -Ejected a lot -Loves to sacrifice -Loves the IBB -Terrible at challenges
  6. So wait, if he isn't lying...
  7. Would Nevin correspond to Tony's time in LAAAAA?
  8. Thanks for putting this together. Would be interested in a cross checking of who played/coached/scouted/work with Getz.
  9. I mean yeah, it's a thought, but Rodon never wanted an extension here as a Boras guy. He wanted to hit free agency and strike it rich, which is exactly what he did. Unless we were willing to out bid the market, he wasn't going to extend here any longer than he had to. He was never going to be "easily retained". He was always going to the highest bidder which was never going to be the Sox, and honestly when a guy has that injury history, I can't blame them for that one.
  10. Oh they 100% were considering giving up a couple of more rounds in this pick.
  11. And if you put together a rebuild, you don't presumably put a washed up manager 10 years out of the game to go behind it, but here we are.
  12. What if I told you that different people can have different points of view on the exact same topic? Nah, obviously one of you is lying.
  13. With 6 full games under his belt, the Bears basically need another 2.5 games played by Fields to upgrade the pick they get from the Steelers.
  14. The theme of 2024 was pretty clearly if Chris Getz got a choice between Player A and Player B, which ever player he chose was awful, and the player he let walk away was a serviceable player in another organization
  15. That would honestly make a lot more sense.
  16. Yeah, they most of this year like they were "trying" to win. Kids didn't get played primarily until after the roster was turned over after the trade deadline. They were running guys like you mentioned, plus other horrible players like Maldonado out there on a daily basis even when it was obvious they were horrible and had nothing to lose by moving on.
  17. And refused to start Fletcher for most of this season.
  18. This might have been the best prediction in this whole thread,
  19. I believe the most accurate culture term is "useful idiots"
  20. Turns out he was right, but mostly because the White Sox were so historically bad they made everyone else look better.
  21. Which tells me that I shouldn't take ANYTHING they say seriously, including doing this rebuild fully and correctly, because their recent history tells me they will 100% lie to the general public to sell a few more ticket, and they will absolutely cut corners, incest hire, and not do everything they need to do to win in 2025 and beyond as long as Jerry and his hand picked stooge are running the show.
  22. And it is revisionists history to argue otherwise.
  23. Forcing starting pitchers to go 6 innings would be an interesting balance to this.
  24. At least Kenny could scout in his day.
