Just looked this up, but the kid played every day after the break, 8 games, after the trade deadline. The injury was probably new and random dumb luck.

Seriously. You should be able to call up your triple A catcher and get that kind of "output" for $750k, and save yourself $3.5 million.

The Sox could spend a billion dollars this offseason in total contracts, bring in Juan Soto, Pete Alonzo, and Corbin Burns, and still not be a .500 team.

If they paid the contract down to even dollars.

And that was 40+ years ago. It has gotten worse.

There is a chasm between describing a bad play, and describing a bad player. You might hear Steve talk about Michael Kopech wanting to stick with his fastball, but you will never hear him called uncoachable for refusing to listen to coaches who try to get him to work more off speed.

I know it bothers people, but literally no home broadcast in a professional setting would crap on their own players in 2024. Baltimore guy got suspended for much less.

That should be obvious TBH. Most of the roster doesn't deserve to be in baseball, plus the short term to free agency guys should be moved.
