For the record, if this kid really was down in velocity because of an injury, it wouldn't be the worst thing because at least that would be a fixable reason.

And yet here we are. Reading between the lines and completely guessing? They have been telling Kopech what to do for years and he doesn't. This happened last year, and already in a months time under new eyes it happened again. There is more to this than we know. Knowing Kopechs history and mixing that in makes this add up pretty clearly.
TBH, if this is happening right, it is almost certainly because Michael Kopech continues to be a mental case and a trainwreck. They obviously see that he can't handle it.
He has sucked for years as a starter, and has sucked again this spring. I am sure this wasn't a planned thing, but a reaction to Kopech not being able to make any progress, and in fact regressing pretty decently.
