  1. Cool. I won't listen to it just like anything else that doesn't interest me. But I also won't suffer a breakdown because she spent 25 seconds on TV in a 3 hour broadcast.
  2. I am sure Carter and Langford are off limits, but the Wolcott kid, as well as Leiter and Rocker are all pieces that could build a deal together with.
  3. There are quite a few parking garages between Congress and Roosevelt for sure, plus a decent amount of just open land parking lots. Most of them aren't very dense (as in one floor or two floors, or just basic ground uncovered parking on the ground), and could easily be developed into higher density parking areas to add thousands of spots pretty easily within walking distance.
  4. The Rangers aren't someone we have talked about a lot, but boy could they put together a top notch deal if they wanted to.
  5. Yeah, and that stop would offer an easy in and out to the entirety of the South and far South suburbs.
  6. I worked in the South Loop for about 15 years during some of the biggest transitions the neighborhood as seen. I know the area incredibly well as well, and I am fully convinced that this area would be just as well attended (if not better than) the Bridgeport area once adjusted for how good or bad a team is on any given year. I honestly think anything we might lose due to less parking, will be made up for by having more easy accessibility to downtown employees and tourists, and probably more. Look there is absolutely nothing about a finished product at this location, which Wrigley Field hasn't been successfully dealing with for 100 years now. That is the bottom line. If you are honestly telling me that Sox fans are somehow going to be less willing to deal with these same issues than Cub fans, well that might be a statement all on its own.
  7. That is true, but it also means that other may go who never went before because of transit options and location.
  8. If only there was another professional franchise located within the same metro area to which we could run a comparison to see if people from the same population would be willing to use public transit...
  9. You could have gotten a better return in the S&P 500, I hope that wasn't supposed to be something impressive.
  10. Apparently only Cub fans can handle public transit.
  11. Maybe if the offers were anywhere close that comes into play. Honestly, my gut feeling is he already has the successor chosen as well as a plan for the sale. Again, I could be 100% wrong, but it feels like my impression of the last 44 years.
  12. It isn't hard to squint a see a scenario where someone (probably Jerry or Jerry and the authority to some extent) write a check to cover the last $50 million on the old ballpark (or whatever is left by the time a new structure starts) and then keep the existing tax structure in place to finance the new set up. Jerry gets a pay out and the Mayor gets to go on TV and say no "NEW" money is going to the stadium.
  13. I don't see a situation where Jerry hasn't gotten this set up to his satisfaction before he dies.
  14. I get the feeling that if JR picks the next owner, not much will change. With as many owners as he has tried to block over the years, I can't see him pick someone against what he sees as his own legacy. Maybe it is PTSD and all, but it is a real fear of mine.
  15. If you are referring to the chop job, it wasn't on the 83's.
  16. I will be honest, watching them overcome some of the absolute worst work by a wide receiver room I have seen earlier this season was something to behold. It just tells me that watch Mahomes, you are watching a generational QB that we should all take some time appreciate. The last time I saw a guy on this level, he took his head coach from a bust with Cleveland to an Hall of Famer.
  17. I think Taylor Swift has exploded some people's brains.
  18. There is literally no good reason to spend actual assets trying to compete in 2024. Sure we need to fill out a roster, find some guys who can fill some innings and not kill the guys you want to be around long term, or could have value as trade assets. But other than that we KNOW this team is a dumpster fire. There is zero reason to think about 2024 as anything other than adding for down the road. If we want to talk about fantasy trades, we should be targeting as much volume and quality as we can for 2026 and beyond. Target starting pitching and up the middle players. I am not going to pretend to know other teams systems, but high ceilings and skill positions have to be top targets. The goal is to find WAR to replace Cease, down the road, with a shooting for the stars view of finding 3 starters, including at least 1 star player.
  19. NO one wants early April home games after opening day. It is always the lowest attended type of year, and the southern based teams felt they were getting penalized with more bad attendance games because of it.
  20. If he is even an OK regular he is leaving 10s of millions on the table and not even getting a double digit salary or 7th year for it.
  21. He must think he is going to be out of the league in 3 years.
  22. Let me put it this way, Leury Garcia got more per year on the open market. That's mediocre utility player money in MLB these days
  23. Also this is a joke of a deal. No idea why he signed this. $5 million in his 5th and 6th seasons? Then his option years too? That's awful for the kid.
