QUOTE (brendol @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) this is my favorite quote ever. now i can justify the skill possessed by david eckstein. Unfortunately your posting skill set equivalent is more like Brent Lillibridge...

I take full responsibility for Mark's crappy outing...
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) I know but you are making it hard to hate you when you and I hate similar things such as Maryland. Its like hating the Yankees, everyone does it.

That is a helluva play by Alexei to both make that catch and to put the tag on Morneau.

HOmers to Span, Gomez, and Harris. Almost makes you wish for Mauer and Morneau to be beating you instead.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 02:04 PM) He's swinging and missing so many mediocre fastballs lately. Like others have said, interleague games totaly ruined the hot stretch he was on. Plus he quit trying to go to left on balls on the outer half.

Nice to get the DP there and get out of this with no damage. We need to go to work on Baker pretty quick here if we want go get back into this one.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:54 PM) so if they lose, wouldn't this be like the first series loss in like a month? Hawk said earlier we haven't lost in seven series.

Well we got one back. Now Buehrle just has to man up like Danks did Friday night and carry the load for a while.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) I think it all depends on home the home stand after the ASB goes. There's still approx 20 days until the deadline. I do think Dotel will be traded by the deadline though, and possibly to the Dodgers. Rockies might be looking for help now too.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) We have seen Crede suck for years. There is no excuse why he should ever see anything but sliders low and away on every pitch. On another note, and I don't want this to sound like a complaint because I've wanted to see the doubles and opposite field hits for years, but it really feels like we haven't hit many home runs in the past month. We have hit 38 in the last 25 games.

Buehrle just looks awful. Everything is up and/or in the middle of the plate.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) Crede might not have had the greatest average in the world, he might not have had the greatest OBP, he certainly couldn't run, but he definitely was a better player than his stats indicated. When the Twins signed him, Gardenhire talked about him almost God-like. His teammates have always appreciated him, the pitchers loved him, and that means a lot. He didn't collect all his homer and rbi totals in routes. He didn't boot many balls in pressure situations(Although I do remember him dropping a Manny Ramirez pop up and the next pitch becoming a souvenier for someone in the bleachers). The guy came up big at the perfect time a lot more than most do with his same numbers. Not everyone who hits .250 with 20 homers and 75 rbi is equal. Rotisserie baseball isn't played on the field. Well said.
