  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) Lucas Harrell with 6 shutout innings so far. Charlotte leading big. Anderson not in the lineup. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...94&sid=t494 I think you have 48 hours to report, its not a big surprise that he didn't make it that quickly.
  2. If Garcia can throw 90, he is a better 5th starter option than anyone else in our organization.
  3. I don't know if it was said or not, but it seemed like Q was running pretty well last night. He busted it up the line on his IF groundout. I don't know how sore he will be, but it didn't seem to hinder him from hustling.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) wow, he has struck out 113 times in 310 AB? Sounds like he is the equivalent of Lillibridge Sounds like Josh Fields...
  5. If we can get Boozer without giving up Hinrich, do it.
  6. 1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. 2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. 3. Abolition of all right of inheritance. 4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. 5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. 6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State. 7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. 8. Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. 9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equal distribution of the population over the country. 10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production. Yeah, people who laugh at the Socialism or Communism comparisons...
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) I think the big thing missing is his fastball's been a bit slower than advertised. Why haven't people caught on to the reason? The Sox take speed off of their pitchers to get them into a repeatable arm slot that still preserves their movement on their pitchers. It is why every single pitcher we get loses velocity here, and regains it elsewhere. It also seems to do wonders to prevent injuries, because when was the last Tommy John or shoulder surgery you remember a Sox major league pitcher getting?
  8. The Sox are 4 games over .500, but have no run differential. They have scored 429 and given up 429.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) That's not exactly the move I had in mind when I said "mammoth." That's what she said...
  10. According to Scott Reifert.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) How much stuff was developed directly or indirectly from the 1960's NASA programs though? Where would the world be without satellite technology, the computers, combustion, and materials that were developed as part of the lunar program? Not to mention velcro and Tang!
  12. Well if you want to prove him wrong, 8 balls in 9 pitches with the bases loaded probably isn't the way to do it.
  13. I am curious to hear what people think. We landed on the moon in 1969, and we opened the first Wal-Mart in the same year. Which has had a bigger impact on our society?
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) Couldn't disagree more. Just because a talented kid you drafted a mere 25 months ago isn't ready in the opinion of those who matter to pitch in the major leagues doesn't mean he is going to get dealt. Ozzie said he isn't ready, and Kenny has already traded the kid. To me that tells me they think they can do better, especially when they are willing to give up 6 years of Poreda.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:55 AM) And that is KW and Ozzie's fault. Why have him as your second lefty if you don't pitch him. I understand that you want him to be working with Coop, but at some point, meaningful innings have to be more important than working with the big league coach. One thing in our system is we have some legit minor league bullpen guys that could definitely give you some solid major league inning. Let Poreda continue to be a starter because I don't think he has the stuff to be a closer (based on what I have seen from him) but he does look like he could be a solid starter. And when will Torres get his due? Kid is dominating AAA and look real good in the AAA all-star game. He has legit stuff and loves to pound the zone, give me him over Richard, please. So they can put him in situations to succeed, put up impressive numbers, and pump up his value before they deal him?
  16. Look for middle market teams that have under performed so far this year, and have had a significant fall in attendence. There are going to be some big budgetary problems this year, and teams will be forced to dump payroll.
  17. Sometimes 1+1=2 Ozzie doesn't think he is ready, and Kenny has already tried to trade him. There is very little doubt in my mind Poreda will be moved for something at the deadline, or over the winter.
  18. Pitching is what the Brewers need, they just need to convince them to stay there.

    QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) The whole love story was just flat out hard to watch. "Shoelace Harry." The f***? And god damn was the Twilight trailer the single worst trailer I have ever seen. How shameless and totally poorly put together. You know the movie will be god awful when they are basically admitting a cash-in with the trailer. The first movie sucked. What are the odds the second will be any better?
  20. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Yep.
  21. Well we will know a lot more tomorrow. If he is hurting, he probably isn't going to be ready for a long time.
  22. Nice to see the White Sox be the team that takes advantage of piss pour defense.
  23. Halfway home, Orioles still lead 1-0.
