QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) I don't mean to insinuate anything, but part of me was thinking when she announced her resignation, that this had something to do with Sanford in SC. Palin was the girl in Argentina? Interesting.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) Do Luke Hochevar and Brian Bannister scare you? Bruce Chen didnt either FWIW....

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) This is a save situation, isn't it? Liney got his second save of the year.

7 in a row!!! Danks

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) The Royals got some serious heat in their 'pen. That's about all they've got aside from ZG. I think their gun is 2-3 mph fast.

Nice work Liney.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) So would that have been an easy double play if Nix had caught the throw? I was watching Manny's first AB. It was a bad call. He dropped the ball pulling it out of his mitt.

Time to get Slowey off of that list...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) Just saying the Twins, IMO, are the bigger threat of the two over the long run. I know I am more afraid of Minny than Detroit.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Let's make tonight a Gobble night. Poreda and Carrasco were warming last inning.

QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) Here's one more for ya... Greinke soon to be 5-9 career against the White Sox, which is the most losses against any one team he has in his career so far.

5-0. Nice work by the Sox again.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) Honestly, unless we offer up Poreda/Richard in a package again as we acquire a big time starter, nothing makes sense. If they are signed for a decent amount of time, it wouldn't bother me at all.

Grienke is done for the night! The offense is coming around nicely as we have put it on both Cliff Lee and Zach Grienke in the last few days. It is amazing how we struggled against Chen, but just kicked Greinke around the park.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) My prediction would be a Josh Fields for Cla Meredith deal. Padres were interested in Fields in the past, and rumor is Padres will be trading Kouzmanoff soon. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Fields go out of here. I think he is burning his bridges from the sounds of it. Those guys don't usually last long in Chicago.

Nice play Becks. He has great hands.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) Well, if the Giants and Sox are trading, it's not for the Giants to get more pitching. I just pray that KW doesn't have soft spot for Jonathan Sanchez. I don't see that happening with the Sox on this kind of a run.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) AJ, what the hell? We never run, then we do against one of the best arms in the AL. I think he was trying to move up on the pitch in the dirt.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) Giants aren't going to be trading offensive players. Are you trying to hint at the Dye for pitching deal?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) The implication from the tweet was that something is brewing. Possibly with the Giants. The return of A-row? [half green]

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) BTW, KW is supposedly trying to make a deal very soon (according to Will Carroll) That's news? Kenny is always trying to make a deal. It's be a big deal if he wasn't.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) Send down THE Jimmy Gobble???? Travesty.... You are on double secret probation for being Pods biggest hater... At least until he gets hurt again

One of my personal favorites are the people who ask if they got banned when the site goes down...

The 5th is Grienke's first 1-2-3 inning.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) Seriously, if the rotation can stay in this groove, there's no reason to keep the extra LHP in the bullpen if Quentin comes back. Hold Wise and Anderson and send down Gobble; gives you an OF bat/PH/PR from both sides of the plate. As long as we keep Poreda or Carrasco fresh for Clayton's starts, I wouldn't mind another option off of the bench.
