  1. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) Chertoff went off on this over the weekend. He's pretty pissed about it. Which surprises me because the guy is such a hack I figured he would have arranged it. He could be suffering from a case of Rich Daley syndrome, where he suddenly forgets who he knows, and what he agreed to...
  2. It only takes one. Just ask Tom Hicks.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) Heard about this a couple of days ago. Who the hell runs FEMA? NEXT QUESTION!
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) According to sources he was a lousy candidate for the baseball pun name game. So they decided to let him go. Unfortunately it was his pitching preformances that were the biggest joke of all...
  5. The parade was an incredible cherry on top of an incredible season.
  6. So if you are Borass do you let ARod say yes to 3 years at 27 million, plus 5 years at 30 million each? Or does he try to hit the 10 year 300 million dollar grand slam.
  7. So who exactly cleared Crede? Is it the Sox doctors, or the same guy who said Maggs was working out when he was having surgery in Eastern Europe without telling the Sox?
  8. I am really surpised to see Uribe's name on the list of guys who will be let go. That can't be right. I really don't see Kenny leaving himself dangling in the wind with Gonzalez or Ozuna as their #1 SS on the depth chart. It would really put him over a barrel in any negotiations.
  9. I guess faking a press confrence is better than faking being a real disaster relief agency...
  10. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Posting crap in the filibuster?
  11. QUOTE(BaseballNick @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) I'm pretty sure Rooney was informed by the White Sox that he wasn't coming back for '06. For some reason, they didn't want him back; STL didn't take him from the White Sox. That said, it doesn't get a whole lot better than sitting back and listening to Rooney and Farmer over the summer. Too bad those days are behind us. I would love to have Steve Stone call some games for the Sox. The guy is a class act all the way, and I don't think there are many people who could challenge his knowledge of the game either. The guy knows his stuff. The Sox lowballed Rooney, and then looked for someone else. St Louis didn't take him.
  12. I was really holding out hopes that Steve Stone could be worked into one of our broadcast booths. I still like Stone/Harrelson and Singleton/DJ would have made great teams.
  13. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) At the time, Felix was considered to be not just the favorite for re-election, but also a frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination. Biden doesn't poll over 1% nationally, and is a Senator from Delaware, hardly a state with massive national significance. Maybe you can answer the question of why the media isn't investigating the price of Romney's haircuts? After all, what John Edwards pays is ridiculously important to so many people. If it is all about national appeal and where they are from, why is Larry freaking Craig such a big deal? Hell he was bigger news than Jefferson who has something like $100k in his freezer! Anyways, its just interesting to me that a guy running for President can do this three times and no one notices.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) It's different this time too. You know why? Because no one likes Biden anyway. Come on, and someone actually like Mitt "transformer" Romney? Not a chance. He's like a schitzo ex-girlfriend.
  15. So where is the outrage for Biden's macca moments? This is not the first, not the second, but the third time in a year he has managed to say something along this vein, and yet we get to hear Romney's Osama/Obama stuff plastered all over the place. http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dl...60393/1006/NEWS http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/31/bid...bama/index.html http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/200...5513.shtml?s=ic
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Nor does it say much for what the GOP puts up as a Presidential candidate. What is your point? Anyone can run for President and declare whatever party they want to. Becoming the #2 in the Senate means your peers voted to put you there... There is a difference.
  17. #2 in bold is my personal favorite. http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/wayoflife/1...ries/index.html
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) Tyrus was in the Jim Beam Club the game I took in from there last July. The guy is a freak. Its like he's on a trampoline. If he learns to shoot a little bit, if he could get any kind of post game, he can be a star. He's so young and inexperienced, it will take some time. I don't believe Tyrus has been playing basketball very long. Which to me I would think would mean he would be MORE likely to stick around and workout with his team. Its one thing if a guy who is a veteran and/or already a star skips out of summers with his teammates, its another for a guy who is WAY behind on the experience scale. Reading between the lines of what Skiles saids about the kid, either he isn't very bright or he is lazy. Either way, he needs to get his ass into gear, or he will end up more like Cleveland Cavliers Shawn Kemp versus Seattle Supersonics Shawn Kemp.
  19. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:03 PM) I've gone through 6 or 7 Lexmark printers. I always thought they were a pretty good brand but not a single one of them lasted. One I never even got to use because it died as soon as I plugged it into my computer. It wouldn't even turn on. I've got an HP 3-in-1 now and have been happy with it so far. We have a 3-1 HP, and we love it.
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 09:45 AM) Perhaps a Paul/Colbert ticket? That is pretty funny.
  21. Is there any chance at all for Brian Anderson in the White Sox system?
  22. The case that really pissed me off was the traffic cop who worked Wabash and Jackson a while back who was using her mom's handicapped placard to park close to her corner, and when you she didn't feel like working she slipped into her car to sit and rest for a while.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) Thankfully California's pet rescues and shelters learned from Louisiana's mistakes. It's just too bad that many pet owners in this situation are irresponsible assholes. Good for them. It would be like leaving a kid behind for us to leave the cats.
  24. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 09:47 AM) The ELF aren't environmentalists any more or less than Al Qaeda are Muslims. Which is to say, they claim to be the penultimate example, but really they just use that set of beliefs as an enabler for their violence. They are terrorists. I have no problem with that assessment of ELF. Like I said, it was just an example...
