Looks pretty good for you guys.
Thanks for the compliments. If the Indians can keep Millwood and Wickman, this is going to be a really interesting division for a long time.

For those who weren't able to get tix...
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) I sat next to the same guy that I sat next to in the ALDS. He is a total stranger, but we have had some close encounters with Crede's walk off and Pods as well. The thing is, this guy is a freakin goliath. Im not a small man, standing about 6' 1", but this guy must be 6'8" and 270 lbs. He takes up the whole seat, and I basically just lean against him during the game. So Konerko hits the grand slam and I high-five my buddy to the left, then turn to the right to give this guy a five, and he picks me up, over his head!!! Pretty much pressed me straight up over his head! Unreal..... Glad to hear your girlfriend got to go to the game afterall

United Center
It sounds cool, they said they were going to bring all of the games and message board stuff from Comiskey, so it will be just like being there. i really wish I could go.

A.J. says Pods called it
That is really funny. I wonder if he was serious when he said it or if he was just screwing around?

Sign Ideas for Game 4
Call me a joiner, but I love the Lidge one as well... except you would have to get seats at the warehouse behind the ballpark for that to be true

Plame Leak Investigation
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) SS, I had to eat lunch before class. It was easier to type that than discuss the focused campaign of every night on the news hearing a new claim against Clinton (and lest we forget the Arkansas Project). Don't get me wrong, I didn't like what Clinton did but when Clinton lied, it didn't compromise national security. There is no way I will believe that was the only lie he ever told. Trust me between everything else he was involved in, there were many more lies than that. It just turns out that was the only one that piqued interest enough to get him to give actual testimony about it. And if you want to talk about compromising national security, Clinton did that in many different ways, including trying to curry favor at the SEC for Chinese nationals, who just happened to be on the payroll of the Chinese government... oops. Or at the sametime he was taking money from Chinese nationals, we were having Chinese spies stealing our nuclear secrets in Los Alamos... oops. Trust me, Clinton did plenty to compromise national security, and that is without getting into the whole he could have had Bin Laden arguements.

Plame Leak Investigation
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) Two words, Kap. Clinton's.Penis. See, we are back to that again. With everything that man was into, no one cared about anything but this. You couldn't get the presses attention for anything but sex. So of course they make it look like it was the Republicans who were only interested in the sex stuff, forget the lying under oath to Congress and the nation, not to mention all of the stuff that Janet Reno ignored, and the Clinton administration stonewalled, but hey if you are all satisfied with all of the Clinton scandals being "just a blowjob", maybe I should start characterizing the Bush scandals as "just a misunderstanding". I guess if I say it long enough and loud enough, people will remember it that way. :puke

PAUL FUCKING KONERKO
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) It doesn't matter now.

Play some f*ckin' Journey!
I wonder if they clued Steve Perry into the fact that he was at Game One of the World Series because those other 3 guys in the picture think he sucks?

Sox @ Houston - World Series Game 3
QUOTE(BMac41 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) The Astros aren't the favorites for game 3 you moron Speaking of morons, you might want to brush up on the personal attacks policy during your 5 days off.

Series games and hurricanes

Is anyone else
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) The worst thing was when Lidge gave up the homer and McCarver said, "Why do things like this happen?" Now, I'm pretty sure he was just feeling bad for Lidge being a goat in two consecutive appearances, but that's crap analysis. How about the other side? Anyone have any theories as to why the announcers would be biased? I'm not certain they are. I'm guessing Astros fans probably think the announcers favor the Sox. As opposed to Ed Farmer on the radio explaining that the Astros should have used Lidge into the last game against the Cardinals to try and get him a positive experience instead of having his last game be the Pujols walk-off. Almost right away after that, Pods went yard. To me it was the epitomy of a good announcer vs a bad one. Farmio was offering excellent insight in the mentality, and what your thinking process should be after a tramatic loss, vs Buck and McCarver who were just whining after the fact.

Is anyone else
Since they synced up the radio broadcast to the cable broadcast I haven't listened to the Fox announcers at all. It has been all John and Ed for me

Bible Study and Sox Game
I would encourage you to look at the Flying Spaghetti Monster or the Rally Crede for redemption instead... They interfere less with baseball..

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) If I had celebrity status, I'd have used it to go to last night's game. Its one thing if you are a huge White Sox fan, its another if you are just looking to be seen in the place to be. The first one I can understand, the second one just pisses me off.

Catch-All Anything Thread
Well as a part of the Lamazze class, we got to see what the birthing suites look like, and thank God they have a nice 32 inch TV in there, so if baby decides to come early and during one of the World Series games, the wife won't have to figure out how to drive to the hospital while in labor.
-
United Center
I wish I could go, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun. But the wife is only about a week and a half from her due date, so its not really possible.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) But wouldn't it be sad without a sell out? 21,000 for a World Series game? I don't think finding someone to take Bernie Macs seat would have been a problem...

Congratulations to the Soxtalk 2005 Hall of Famers
Leave it to Soxtalk to throw a curveball at us... Originally we had planned on inducting the 3 highest vote totals into the Soxtalk Hall of Fame, class of 2005. Well right according to schedule, we ended up with a tie for 3rd place. Instead of breaking the tie, we decided to go ahead and induct both posters. The voting was incredibly close, with the #2 vote total and the #7 vote total, only being 3 votes apart with about 50 people sending in their votes. And without any further ado, here are your new Soxtalk Hall of Famers Texsox Flasoxxjim YASNY Greasywheels121 This is an incredible group, both for what they contribute to Soxtalk, and the people they are in real life, beyond this message board. I am proud of all of them, and the rest of the group who was on the ballot. Congratulations to all of them.

I was just going to post this. Excellent article. Everyone of those assholes is taking a seat that could be occupied by someone who has followed this team with every ounce of their being, vs someone who just wants their 5 second on Fox, so the world doesn't forget that they exsist.
