Howard Dean - the Great Uniter
QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Howard Dean is there to raise money. Not to get elected. Him throwing flames like that only helps his base. That is who he plays to. Not moderates and not conservatives. And not to John Edwards http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050605/ap_on_el_pr/edwards_dean

06/05/05 Game Thread vs. Cleveland
Its gonna rain there pretty soon, I'd say within 45 minutes or so. http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USLocalWi...v=none&pid=none Click the "animate" feature and watch the storms blow up out of no where. It could get nasty by the time it gets to the ballpark.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) I never said that the agenda was to play Timo more than Frank....it's a complete different situation. There's no way someone can convince me that Timo deserves to be on the team more than Willie Harris right now. It just doesn't make sense. I would predict that every other team in the majors would send down Timo instead of Willie in a similar situation. Then was does that mean exactly? If you value a player more than another, wouldn't you be playin them everyday? And what does Willie Harris have to do with Ozzie valuing Timo over Frank???

Chicago Rush
The Rush rank with the WNBA as far as I am concerned.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Who cares if Ozzie is benching a guy on pace for 100 RBIs....it's the same player who had been just god awful against right handed pitching for the last two months. If you can't tell that Ozzie has an agenda to keep Timo on the team when he's the obvious person that should be released....you're being a little naive (and no, I'm not talking about Ozzie and Timo's mythical affair). You would think if he was picking Timo over Frank, Timo would be in the starting line up everyday, and he wouldn't be benching Carl Everett for Frank Thomas. You might need a tinfoil hat to go with that theory.

Blue Jays Question
QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) All Blue Jays games start on the 7s. 1:07, 1:37, 7:07, etc. Why? Please someone tell me why. I'm two months in, and no has this answer. What is the signifigance? IN reality, that is when all games begin, they just don't publish it like that.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) It really seems like Ozzie values Timo more than he does Frank Thomas. Things really seem to be getting crazy behind the scenes with agendas and feuds. Where the heck would you get that from? The fact that Ozzie is benching a guy on pace for 100 RBIs for Frank? Or the newspaper article with no basis in fact that siad they were trying to trade Frank? That's just insane.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Still, though, I think Thomas at his worst (and I'm expecting something like .250/.370 out of him) are better than anything Everett does for us -- IMO. But, I certainly don't expect Thomas to put up the numbers he was putting up the first half of last year... Carl Everett was on pace for about 25 HR and 100 RBIs playing everyday. He was doing the job, all except for OBP.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) Personally, I don't see the Sox winning like this without a bat like Thomas' back in the lineup on a daily basis. I think our lineup goes from below average to above average just by having #35 in the middle of the lineup, but that's JMO. The question is, when will Frank Thomas hit like Frank Thomas, and how long can we afford to wait for that?

Sox To Miss Peavy in San Diego Series
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) Yes, cheers to the Admins for holding this piece of s*** to 4 posts. Have fun, and make sure to send him and his school an email (or a nice mailing list) telling him what you think.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Wrong. The media hangs on (some would say twist) everything Thomas says. If you were listening, Frank has been saying stuff like that for months, then all of the sudden he saids he needs his ABs and it is front page news in both papers. Try again.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) If Frank said it, the headline would be "Thomas Doesn't Want to Play". If Frank said that no one would care and nothing would get printed.

This Quote From Ozzie
QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) just because we haven't lost EVERY time he's gone to Marte in the ninth doesn't make it right. but off the top of my head, he left garland in too long against the rangers, took mccarthy out too early against the cubs, really screwed the pooch with buerhle in the ninth inning on memorial day, brought in walker two days later in a one-run game, and this is all in the last week. i'd say he lost us about 10-15 games last year with his pitching management. So you are saying we should be something like 53-2?

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Did he? Sorry, I missed it. Pregame interview yesterday. Of course no one in the media actually caught wind of it, because there is no controversy there.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) If Everett is such a "team first" player he won't mind coming off the bench the rest of the season. Ozzie could get him in the line-up three-four times a week by sitting Frank once, Dye once, Rowand once(moving Pods to center). I'm worried they'll trade Carl and Thomas will down with another injury. That's almost exactly what Carl said. Whatever is best for the team.
-
Tribune article about Frank's attitude
Just to stir the pot, did anyone else notice that Carl Everett didn't say anything like "I need my ABs when asked" about this? He literally said, whatever is best for the team. Now carry on.

QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) I wish ozzie looked at this forum every once and awhile and realizes Timo sucks yeah right. Ozzie reaction after reading Soxtalk "BECAUSE I AM THE f***ING MANAGER, THAT'S WHY"
