Looks like they didn't read their own charter too closely. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050602-120456-1031r.htm

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) It's got 1,000 potential, especially if Ozzie keeps screwing things up, it may be resurrected all year. No doubt. This has b****ass passionless Sox potential or Continuing Delcline potential [/trip through soxtalk history]

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Maybe Kap can set a hidden doomsday switch that will completely GUBAR ("Gaged Up Beyond All Repair") the site with the millionth post. or we could just tell Jason to fix something... either way works.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Spot start hermy bring up Baj to mop up in his stead, Tracy, anyone. The positives of having a gold-glove masher at third far outweigh the negatives of having an ok 6th starter. At this point, from what I have seen of BMAC, hes ok when brought up, but through his two starts, he hasnt been exactly super. Wow that is even scarier, then who closes?

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) How about a prize for the millionth post? Should be coming up sometime next season at the current pace, right? Depending on how the season goes, it could be around New Years. During the season we have been averaging about 50,000 posts a month. It does drop off during the off-season, but if the Sox crash and burn, or win this thing, that number could go up significantly. The site has been over 2000 posts each of the last two days, with all of the controversy going on, and it isn't hard to imagine it going higher if we go into a slump of somekind. Actually that could be a fun contest. Predict a million? Have people pick a date that the 1 millionth post will occur on.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) personally I think he meant this as a joke. But you know him better than I. It was meant as a joke. Sorry guys, I had no intention of getting into the middle of this.

*Official* Eric Chavez Speculation/Dream Thread
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) I would throw BMAC's ass on a plane so fast he wouldnt have time to think. We have other young arms, this is the year to make a push and Chavez can not only benefit us this year, but give us a better team next year, I say go for it, please please please KW And who would be our 5th starter when (not if) Hernandez goes down again?

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Jim, next time I will have to buy you a beer and at least fuel some arguments for a couple of innings. Its not hard with those two... usually I just say "hey how about those White Sox" and it is all downhill from there.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) Silly theoretical question here... why couldn't Crede have played first base last night with Ozuna going in at 3B, or taking SS and sending Uribe to 3B. I haven't played much 3B in my time, but it seems like 1B would be the closest to 3B IMO. Also it seems a lot of 3Bs end up at 1B. Not to interupt Jim and Quicks fest, but any thoughts on this? how similar are first and third, and could Crede have been a better option?

Ozzie's Attitude
QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 08:00 AM) Several Notes: 1. Ozzie should've walked into the locker room after the game, told the players to enjoy their day off and said the loss was 100% his fault. Ozzie should have told the players all the blame for the loss is his own. 2. If you think Jeff Brantley was tough, wait until October (if the Sox can actually hold on), when every pitch is analyzed. Ozzie will be really under the microscope then. 3. I have a strange feeling Ozzie feels a special bond with the Latin players given his patience with Damaso, Timo and last night not PH Konerko for Uribe. JMO. But it seems like there is something going on with his reliance on those below-average players. Is Kevin Walker Venezuelan?

So lemme get this straight....
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) This post is so confusing We were down 4 runs, Willie went up there, he was patient. He took a fastball right down the middle 3-1 because it's not really worth swinging at it and risking an out. Had Willie, or in this case Pauly as your sugesting, hit a HR, we still would have been down by a run. He did the right thing and looked to bring the tying run to the plate by any means necessary. Good point. It is the same reason you don't risk taking extra bases or stealing late in the game while trailing. The whole point is to get the tying and go-ahead runs up to the plate to give the team a chance to win.

Baseball question
There is a little know clause for games that start at 6:07 pm in the Central Daylight Timezone that a win on June first equals an automatic World Series appearence.
