A Little Respect
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) hahahaha, it was a good walk, I never knew there was a panda express so close to my building. If you ever want lunch tips in the area, ask me or mreye. One of us will get you pointed in the right direction for just about any food you could want.

A Little Respect
QUOTE(mreye @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) I saw one today as a matter of fact. There's also this one geeky guy on my train that wears a Sox hat everyday. Damn right I mean, who is that?

A Little Respect
QUOTE(mreye @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) I work across Van Buren from the Board of Trade at One Financial Place. It's the building you go under on Congress that says: "Chicago Stock Exchange." In our court yard we have three flag poles usually flying the US flag, the Illinois state flag and the city of Chicago flag. Right now they are flying the US flag, the state flag and... A SOX FLAG! Oh HELL YA!!! Traders RULE!

Cuddyer on the Sox
In reality, the Twins probably have a reason to feel that way, and that is history. They have always been able to bury us the last 3 years. Even when we have started well, or played them well early, they have always managed to get hot. And honestly until we bury the Twins in August, I have a big fear of them in the back of my head, even with a 5 1/2 game lead.

Sox vs Rangers 5/17 - Game Thread
To me Hermanson and Iguchi make the team better by their play. AJ makes the entire pitching staff better, in addition to making the Catcher position better. Look no further than Contreras and Garland as examples of that. But I do agree, all 3 were awesome pick ups.

Jamie Burke or Ben Davis
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 18, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) I know there was word the Sox were interested in Guardado at one point or another and he is a lefty...he would be awesome to get, of course it would take a lot more than Burke to get him though. And as long as Seattle is even close, they won't be trading Everyday Eddie.

Yanks lose again.....
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 17, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) I wonder if NY has a Jay Moranatti type columnist who will start saying that they are fattening up on mediocre teams. Mike Lupica. And if anything, he made Kotex-Boy and not the other way around. He was the original asshole columnist who made his living ripping Stein and the Yankees.

Rotation for the Cub Series
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2005 -> 03:01 AM) You are probably one of the few around here that would take that point of view. My favorite part of that interview was were he likened seeing baseball at Wrigley to going to a mueseum.

Iguchi: Team-oriented player
Wow I didn't realize that Tads hadn't been a #2 hitter in Japan. He looks like he has been doing it all of his life the way he gets runners over, and runs the bases. Also in reply, there is no need to move Iguchi at all. The one consistant in our line up this year has been Pods getting on and Iguchi getting him over. There is no need to mess with that.

Sox vs Rangers 5/17 - Game Thread
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Some interesting reading from the Tribune regarding Garland pitching out of that 6th (?) inning jam: f***in' AJ Rocks! I was just going to post that very thing after reading it in the Trib. Seriously is there any argueing that AJ was THE biggest pick up in the offseason?

28-12
28-12 is music to my ears. That is .700 ball through a 40 game stretch. If we can play even .600 ball the rest of the way we will win 101 games, and .550 ball will still get us 95 wins. These 40 games have been huge and really put a ton of pressure on the Twins to get hot, while we fall apart. And finally to my boys, you have earned it. I don't care what the haters say, this is a special group.

Mike Sweeney
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) I agree. At this point, we all realize he isn't performing too well, you don't have to post it day after day after day after day. And, the whole "DURR" thing, you're just trying to making him look like a dumbass, which is pretty low -- to me, and I guess Yahtzee too. There's no need for it, really, considering he's not a guy who's just taken the signing bonus and gotten fat and ran with it. By all accounts he's a hard worker, one of the hardest on the team, and there's really no need for comments like that. And the irony is that Borchard is an extremely intelligent Stanford grad who is most likely 10 times smarter than just about any of us put together, and Jabroni, is well.... Jabroni. Do I need to say anymore?

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER
That sequence by Jon was the most incredible thing I have seen him do, since he got to Chicago. He mowed down a murders row, and didn't even look like he broke a sweat to do it.

Sox vs Rangers 5/17 - Game Thread
Sox go quick in the 3rd... both pitchers seem to be settling in 2-0 Sox after 3 innings on the southside.

Sox vs Rangers 5/17 - Game Thread
Garland cruises through a quick 3rd, still 2-0 Sox after 2 1/2 innings.
